SILVERMIST PACK

Evelyn stretched like a satisfied cat across the rumpled hotel sheets, smug and radiant in the early light. But Lucien didn’t look at her the same way he had hours ago.

He wasn’t touching her. He wasn’t even looking at her.

He was just quiet.

She sat up slowly, brushing sweat-damp hair from her face. “Alright, what is it now? Regret finally caught up with you?”

Lucien didn’t respond. He just reached for something beside the nightstand, a sleek black phone she hadn’t noticed before. He tapped the screen once, then turned it toward her.

Evelyn froze.

The video was clear. Very clear to see. The angles were very perfect. Her face tilted back in pleasure, her moans were loud enough to hear, her body laid bare beneath him.

“No…” she breathed, voice cracking. “You didn’t—”

“I did,” he said calmly. “From the moment I saw you walk into that club, I knew tonight I could use you to my advantage.”

Her skin went cold despite the warmth in the room. “You bastard, you set me up.”

SELENEThe silence was unbearable.Zarek’s hand was still at his side, his gaze locked on mine, unreadable, though I could see the tension in the way his jaw clenched and his shoulders held too tight.Mira turned toward me, slowly, like she hadn’t expected to be caught. Her lips parted in that perfect curve of feigned surprise, the kind she’d worn since the first day she slithered into this pack. She didn’t move her hand away from him.I stepped into the room without flinching. But I didn’t have to say a word, because Leila stormed in right behind me.She didn’t knock. She didn’t hesitate. She moved like a storm that had waited long enough to unleash.“I’m sorry,” I said first, voice calm, trying to break the heat building between us. “I didn’t realize you two were… busy. I was wrong for not knocking.”Mira’s lips curled, soft and saccharine. “Yes. We are busy, I am talking to him about something that would benefit both packs. So you should learn the habit of knocking before entering

SELENEMira stepped forward again, that same false softness in her eyes, but there was steel beneath it.“Alpha,” she said, voice velvet. “I didn’t get to finish what I wanted to say. About Lucien.”Zarek’s jaw twitched. “Speak.”Mira’s hand brushed against his. Deliberate. Calculated. “We can only speak in private… or your office. This isn’t a matter for the training field.” She tilted her head slightly, her voice quiet but strong. “I’m only trying to help you, Zarek. You need Lucien’s information, right? And now I’m offering to give that, even though he is… was my Alpha.”Zarek didn’t answer right away. Her next words were whispered like a confession. “I don’t want him anymore. I’m willing to see him fall.”The silence that followed was long enough for tension to rise like smoke. Then Zarek gave a clipped nod. “Fine. Let’s head into my office.”He turned toward Luca. “Keep everyone busy. I’ll be back soon.”Luca gave a short nod and shot a quick glance at me—more protective than que

SELENEMira stepped in front of us, unbothered by the tension she was stepping into like a knife through butter. Her posture was elegant, but there was something sly behind her eyes, like a snake warming itself in sunlight.“You see, Alpha, I would love to speak with you in private,” she said softly, her voice carrying just enough to be heard. “About Lucien… if you don’t mind.”Lucien.The name didn’t sting like it used to. Now it just burned with purpose. A quiet and dangerous purpose.I raised a brow.Mira turned her head to me, polite but firm. “Luna. You wouldn’t mind, would you?”Her challenge was subtle, buried under pleasantries, but it was there. Testing me. Poking me to react.I didn’t flinch.I smirked instead, slowly nodding. “It’s fine with me,” I said, my voice cool. Before Zarek could say anything, Evelyn was suddenly beside me like a weed growing out of nowhere. She grabbed my hand, plastering on that sugary smile.“You can join us here,” she said, eyes wide with mock s

SELENE“Selene is in charge of everything. Not her, she doesn’t have the right to arrange gatherings like that.” Zarek’s voice cut through the tension like a blade.Luca hesitated, his eyes flickered to me immediately. “You know I can’t stop her, Alpha,” he said, voice low but steady.Zarek didn’t move, he didn’t speak for a moment. The air around him shifted, calm, but laced with quiet warning. “Selene,” he said, turning to me now. “You should do something.”I tilted my head slightly, a smirk tugging at my lips. “There’s nothing I can do, Zarek. You and I both know how Evelyn is.”His jaw clenched as he let out a slow breath, like he was holding himself back from snapping. Then, without another word, he reached down and laced his fingers through mine, pulling me gently but firmly toward the door.“Where are we going?” I asked.“To put an end to this circus.”He didn’t let go of my hand as we walked. The warmth of his palm grounded me, even as my nerves buzzed under my skin. When we s

SELENEZarek just stood there with his hand behind his back, watching me like I was something fragile, but not weak. Never weak.“I’m dead serious. I didn’t poison her,” I said again, my voice firmer this time.He just smirked. “I know. Don’t force yourself to convince me.” He said then he poured himself a cup of wine.I shifted uncomfortably on the bed. That smile was so calm, so unreadable, it made my stomach twist. Was he testing me? Or had he already made up his mind?I folded my arms tightly across my chest. “No. It seems like people aren’t believing me. They want to use this to strip me of everything, my title, my place and my voice. But I’m not going to let anyone exile me this time.” I looked him dead in the eyes. “I’m standing my ground, just so they know I am not the same Luna I was before. Now I have something to protect.”Zarek didn’t respond immediately. Just tilted his head slightly, his lips curved into that unreadable half-smile. Like he was waiting for something.Like

SELENE“Are you threatening me?” Evelyn asked, her gaze locked on mine.I smirked. “It sounds like that, right?”Then I snapped my fingers lightly in front of her face. “Then maybe it’ll happen in reality. Just be good, okay?” I said, tapping her shoulder with two fingers. Her body flinched. And then, like a puppet whose strings had just been cut, Evelyn collapsed.I didn’t move. Didn’t blink. She hit the floor with a dull thud, her limbs limp, head rolling sideways as her eyes fluttered shut.A second of silence. Then chaos.“Beta Evelyn!”Two figures sprinted down the hallway. Her maids, Vivian and Clara, skirts lifted, eyes wide with panic. They dropped beside her, voices choked with terror. “Wake up! Please, Beta Evelyn!”“She’s not breathing right,” Clara gasped. Then both women turned their wide, accusing eyes on me.“What did you do to her, Luna?” Vivian shouted, voice cracking.I didn’t answer. Because I didn’t know what to say. My mind was spinning. I looked down at Evelyn, h
