Chapter Twenty-five: I, Rendall Lyall Connor

"You made the new IT manager Helia's guide on purpose, right?" Selene smiled cockily at Brient who sat on the floor of his living room. He was playing a game of chess against himself.

"I just want Rendall to have a taste of his own medicine," Brient grinned and Selene chuckled.

She closed the door and left the entrance of the living room to the couch opposite Brient.

"Did you see how he was during lunch on Monday? He obviously likes her. I wonder why he isn't making any move."

Brient smiled sadly at Selene's words.

"Rendall and Helia are very different from each other," Brient's voice was flat. "They can't be together."

"But just like me, you want them to be together, right?"

"I should not want that."

"But you do," Selene smirked and Brient sighed. "By the way, why can't they be toget—" Selene paused as soon as she heard footsteps. Rendall was walking down the stairs. Brient and Selene gasped as they saw him.
