Chapter 6 - Secrets

Bella was only six years old when her mother got severely sick.

One night while her mother was having another painful seizure, Bella run out of their room to ask for help. They were never allowed to go out unless being called but she was already bawling her eyes out asking for help for her dying mother.

Unfamiliar with the house, she ended up coming to the last room at the end of the corridor.

The door was slightly open and she immediately saw the beautifully decorated room inside. It was very different from the small and plain room she and her mother uses.

The heart of the child was immediately distracted. She quietly entered the room, constantly looking around.

“Wow!” she cheered as she looked around the huge room.

She wanted to have a room like this too!

“Shut your mouth!” the young Bella’s eyes widened in fear as she heard Hope Richards’ angry voice coming from a distance. She then realized that she was about to get caught inside this beautiful room.

She frantically looked inside the room, looking for a place where she can hide.

“That woman’s dying, Hope! We need to make sure that Bella’s not going to stay here! She will take everything away from our daughter!” That was what she heard that night from an unknown man. She was way too old when she finally realized what that phrase was supposed to mean.

It was already too late for her way back then but now? She’ll make sure to take back what everyone owes her.

That’s what filled her mind as she stashed everything her eyes fell into inside the room. Caitlin was screaming and shouting for her to stop but she keeps on turning the pink room upside down.

Caitlin rushed up to stop her but she was easily pushed aside as a white dress came flying directly to her, covering her whole face!

She hastily pulled the dress away from her face only for her jaw to drop as she saw all of her pieces of jewelry and cosmetic sets were thrown out and broken on the floor.

“Oh my God! This is my limited edition dress, my bag… this is a gift from Gaspal!” Caitlin seems to lost her mind as she kneeled on the ground to pick up her things.

But her mumbling didn’t even stop Bella was destroying everything.

“Bella! Stop this!”

“Ha! What is this?” Bella pretended not to hear anything as she check out and throw everything on the ground.

Allen and Hope heard the loud noises and Caitlin’s screams and ran upstairs only to be dumbfounded to see the scene before them.

“Stop this, Bella! You bitch! You don’t have any idea how much each of these is worth you country bumpkin!”

Allen was the first one to compose himself and with a loud and opposing tone he called out to his youngest, “Bella! What the hell are you doing?!”

Hope pretended to side with Bella as she pretentiously try to calm her husband.

“Bella, what’s wrong? If you’re not contented about something you should’ve told us. There’s no need to do this to your sister.” Hope uttered in a soft voice.

Bella was still standing in the middle of the room, staring at her father who seems not to know who his real child is. Casually the perfume on her hands fell loudly on the wooden floor of Caitlin’s room.

“No!” Caitlin wailed as she stumbled to throw everything she was holding to run over the perfume that was now freely swimming on the floor with pieces of its broken glass container in it.

“Oops!” Bella uttered unapologetically. “My bad.”

“Bella, what are you doing?!” Allen roared angrily. “This is your first day here and yet you’re already causing too much trouble!”

Bella’s face twisted in a mocking smile as she slightly scratch the side of her head as if wondering what she did wrong. “Sorry, I grew up with no parents to look after me. I didn’t know how to ask for something politely.”

“Am I bad for doing this?” she asked as she pulled one of Caitlin’s dresses to the ground and noisily tear them apart. The fabric was so easy to tear she didn’t even need to put much effort to do so.

“Bella!”

Hope’s face started to change as she watched her daughter’s crest-fallen face while hugging the now thorn dress.

“You can send me back if I am causing you too much trouble,” Bella said smiling.

“What do you want?” Allen asked, finally giving up.

Bella looked around the room and smirked at Caitlin and Hope who were waiting for her to talk. “I want this room.”

“What are you talking about?! This is my room!” Caitlin immediately countered as she charged toward Bella who looks so unbothered with her current state.

Seeing how everything was turning more chaotic than it already is, Hope Richards stepped forward and aimed for Bella’s shoulders. Bella’s eyes followed her hand as she gently placed them on her shoulders as if a mother trying to console her daughter who’s throwing a large tantrum.

“Bella, if you don’t like the room we prepared for you, I can arrange another room. You don’t need to do this to your sister—”

“I want this room. Specifically this one.” Bella’s eyes were directly staring at her father’s eyes while talking. She didn’t care whatever Hope was babbling about, she knows who gets to give the final say.

It’s the alpha of course.

“Fine.” Allen agreed which made the mother-daughter duo turn to him with wide eyes.

“Dad!”

“Allen!”

Allen gave his wife and his daughter a warning glare before his ferocious eyes turned to his youngest. “Take this room and behave. I don’t want any more trouble from you, Bella.”

Instead of answering, Bella faked a yawn and stared at the three people watching her. “I want to rest, please help yourself out.”

Before they even know it, the three had already gone out of the room, in front of them is the closed white door.

“Dad! Why did you do that?! Why let her take my room?!” Caitlin turned her anger to her father who stared at her scoldingly.

“You’ll get it back soon. For now, bear with it until everything settled down.” He said before staring at the door one last time and turning his back to go back to his office.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Bella laid her back on the soft mattress and dialed someone’s number using her phone.

“Bella?” A soft voice came from the other side of the phone.

“Jessica, can you help me investigate the recent activities of my family and better yet the whole Blue Moon pack?”

“Huh? Why? What happened? Something wrong?” Jessica’s voice sounded so worried after hearing her request.

“Nothing…yet. I just wanted to check so that I could be ready for anything.”

“Oh, alright. I’ll have it checked.”

“Thanks, Jes!”

After hanging up the phone, she put it down beside her. She stared at the white ceiling and started to think out loud.

“What could they possibly need from me?”
