Inside Bella’s bedroom, she laid still on her bed with her eyes closed. Her forehead knotting in irritation.
After five more minutes of trying to call for sleep, she sat up furiously. Her hand reached out to scratch her long and disheveled hair, while annoyance filled her eyes.
“Damn, Caitlin! Now I can’t sleep anymore!” she hissed angrily.
Bella exhaled an exasperated breath, got up, and went out of her room. She’s a light sleeper who values the little few minutes she could rest. But that goddamn sister of hers just knows how to further ruin her already ruined day and just destroyed her once in a blue moon peaceful nap!
While she was about to descend the stairs, she heard Allen Richard’s voice coming out of his partly opened office.
“This is a serious matter at hand, Gaspal! I must make a move in order to salvage the pack’s reputation!” Bella leaned on the wall just beside the slightly opened door. Quietly eavesdropping on the conversation inside.
“I understand your concerns, Alpha. But don’t you think it’s too early to announce about marriage?” The corner of Bella’s lips curved upward as she heard the strained annoyance in Gaspal’s voice.
“Early?! You should’ve thought about that when you did that… that act with her!” Allen roared angrily.
Bella winced painfully as she felt the alpha’s overwhelming anger, despite being not in front of him. She waited to hear anything from Gaspal Ricks but ended up chuckling as she heard nothing from his side.
‘Whoops! Was that a no?’ Bella snickered silently as she waited for the conversation to resume.
“Alright. I’m not forcing you. Given that my daughter has yet to have her first turn, just at least, take her to meet your parents. Just to ease up the tension a bit.”
“Father—”
“I’m not talking to you, Caitlin!”
Bella wasn’t able to hold back her laughter anymore. The people inside the room immediately turned their heads to the door, only to realize that it was half open.
Maybe Gaspal failed to close it properly when he was called into the office after the alpha talked to his eldest daughter alone.
“Seems like someone doesn’t want to be tied down,” Bella said in a sing-song tone as she appeared by the door of the office. “Or maybe you just don’t want the soon to be bride?”
She pretended to be shock as she placed her hand over her lips that was currently forming a big ‘O’. “Maybe you wanted to shift brides? Should I marry you instead?”
“How long have you been in there?” Allen asked Bella with a dark face.
Bella shrugged her shoulders and leaned over the door’s frame. “Well, long enough to know that Gaspal Ricks declines your marriage proposal?”
Allen’s face contorted even more. “Stop talking nonsense and go back to your room!”
But Bella wasn’t afraid of him as she used to be when she was younger. Instead, she shifted her playful gaze to Gaspal Ricks, who was silently watching the family drama unfold in front of him.
“Hey, after kissing and all you refuse to get engaged with my sister?” she asked, her finger pointing at Caitlin.
Hearing Bella’s words, Caitlin, who was about to butt in into the conversation, shut her mouth instead. While Gaspal turned to look at Bella with a bit tinge of interest and hostility.
“Bella’s right. You had already tainted my daughter’s reputation and tainting hers almost means tainting the blue moon pack’s reputation as well. To make up for that mistake of yours, I wanted to meet your father and talk to him about your engagement,” Allen said with finality.
Gaspal’s jaw tightened. He knows he has no match against the alpha in front of him, so he nodded. “Then let’s do it according to your wishes, Alpha.”
Caitlin, on the side of the room, can only glance at Gaspal longingly. Gaspal’s family is one of the richest family under the Bluemoon pack. She would be the total star of the social empire if she really ended up marrying him!
After a few minutes of talking to the alpha, Gaspal excused himself. When he reached the door, his eyes lingered around Bella’s beautiful face before he forcefully pulled himself away from Allen’s office.
Meanwhile, the oblivious Caitlin was too happy to sense Gaspal’s unhappiness. So as soon as he left with Allen, she immediately turn to look at Bella with a mocking smile.
“See? That man is Gaspal Ricks, the only son of the richest family under the Bluemoon pack, and I’m gonna be his wife!” she boasted.
Bella crossed her arms over her chest and repeatedly nodded at her sister’s nonsense and one-sided daydreams.
“Oh? What an expensive trash he is.” Caitlin’s happy face contorted into an irritated one after receiving the insult.
“Just wait! When I successfully become his wife, I’ll no longer be just the alpha’s daughter but the pack’s madame! And when that time comes, I will drive you out of this house!”
“Really? I guessed you forgot you were the one who asked for my presence here?” she mocked, that rendered Caitlin speechless. “But well, I guess I should just wait for you to accomplish that… if you can, actually.”
Caitlin, fuming with anger, turned around and was about to leave when Bella’s taunting voice stop her from her tracks.
“I don’t like my current room.” Caitlin turned her head aside to look at Bella with curiosity.
Bella moved closer to her ears and whispered, “You’ve lived long enough as the alpha’s daughter. Don’t you think it’s now time to give the throne back to the real one?”
Caitlin froze on the spot. For a second, she didn’t know what to do or what to say. She only felt Bella’s light hands tapping on her shoulder comfortingly.
“First things, first. I shall have the room I truly deserved,” Bella said in a flat tone, but enough to shake Caitlin up.
Caitlin’s eyes widened as she chased after Bella, who was now walking towards her room.
“You’re dreaming! What nonsense are you talking about?!” she shouted angrily as she tried to violently pull Bella away from her room’s door.
“This is my room! This is my house! Everything here is mine!” she shouted, almost sounding crazy.
Bella’s lips curved upward as her hand grasp tightly on the knob.
“Okay, if you say so,” she said as she twisted the knob and successfully entered the room.
Bella was only six years old when her mother got severely sick. One night while her mother was having another painful seizure, Bella run out of their room to ask for help. They were never allowed to go out unless being called but she was already bawling her eyes out asking for help for her dying mother.Unfamiliar with the house, she ended up coming to the last room at the end of the corridor. The door was slightly open and she immediately saw the beautifully decorated room inside. It was very different from the small and plain room she and her mother uses. The heart of the child was immediately distracted. She quietly entered the room, constantly looking around.“Wow!” she cheered as she looked around the huge room. She wanted to have a room like this too! “Shut your mouth!” the young Bella’s eyes widened in fear as she heard Hope Richards’ angry voice coming from a distance. She then realized that she was about to get caught inside this beautiful room. She frantically looked insid
The next morning, as soon as Bella got up, Allen took her and Caitlin to report to Brighton University together. The family seemed to have made peace regarding the conflict of last night’s chaos and only Caitlin had a stern face along the way, glaring at Bella who was preoccupied with her phone every now and then. When they arrived outside of the university. Allen turned to face his daughters with a stern and strict face, his alpha aura dominating against them. “This is the best university in Cynth City. Make sure not to cause any trouble in here, I took a lot of effort to get you both in,” He turned to look at Bella. “Especially you Bella, your grades are not good, the admin’s only willing to admit you to the education department. Though it was a low-cost profession, you can go back to the countryside to teach if ever.”Bella raised her eyebrows suspiciously, where did he see her grades from? And what? They aren’t good? That what should be good?Caitlin immediately gloated at her, k
The vice principal’s face darkened. “You claim to be Bella’s father . . . right?”Allen nodded readily, ecstatic to finally get some attention from the university’s higher-ups.“Then I shall say you failed being a good father,” the vice principal said with a blank face. The principal looked irritated as he silently watch the scene unfold, his eyes glaring a bit to the two unwelcome presence by the door.“What do you mean?” Allen asked, completely at loss with the vice principal’s words. “How dare you say her grades were poor? Have you seen them?” the principal asked.Allen, loss for words remained looking at him with a confused expression. His wife had told him how bad of a student Bella is. According to Hope, almost all of her subjects are failing and that she only gets to proceed on the next level with her help by bribing the small schools on the countryside.“Seems like he didn’t even checked it himself,” the principal butted in with a cold voice. “If she has poor grades like wha
Suzie stared at the bracelet, didn’t know what to do with it. This was the first time she get to receive something from someone. It had always been her giving something to others that this sudden turn of tables somewhat warmed her heart.“This… this is expensive. I don’t think I can take it.” She can smell Bella’s omega wolf and she wasn’t sure if it was right to take something this precious from someone who was at a bit of a disadvantage against her rank in society.“Nah. That’s fake, so no need to feel burdened. You can choose to wear, keep or throw it away. Your choice.” Bella said with a grin before lying her head on the table and started to prepare for a nap despite the noise inside the rowdy room.Suzie’s eyes went back to the dazzling sapphire ornament of the bracelet, and a soft chuckle left her lips.Their family business is in the line of jewelry. There’s no way she can’t determine a genuine gem.She stared at the bracelet a bit longer before she finally wore it around her w
Suzie excitedly pulled Bella closer to where her brother was, oblivious to the past encounter between the two, she badly wanted to introduce such an amazing woman to her brother. Her brother was already at the age of marriage and yet, he wasn’t able to find his own mate yet. Suzie was starting to worry about him, he’s the youngest alpha ever known on Cynth City and yet he has no luna to support him just yet.“Shawn! This is my new classmate, Bella Richards.” Suzie introduced with a bright smile. “Bella, this is my brother, Shawn Tan.”Shawn Tan subtly sniffed the air before a wide yet elegant smile appeared on his lips. He extended his slender hand in front of Bella who indifferently stared at it for a while before raising her eyes back up to his handsome face.“I didn’t know our Suzie here is capable of having beautiful friends. Feel free to call me Shawn,” he said and even proceeded on carefully reaching out for Bella’s hand and kissing the back of it.Seeing such rare actions from
“Come’n, Bella!” Suzie continued to pull on Bella’s hand and didn’t even let go of her arms as soon as she was able to get a grasp on it once again. She raised her wrist where the bracelet Bella gave her was peacefully seating.“You’ve given me a gift for the commemoration of our first day of friendship! I have nothing to give you so let’s just have a meal together. Huh? Bella~”“That’s not even expensive,” Bella pointed out but Suzie shook her head and pulled her even closer, lovingly rubbing her face on Bella’s arms.“It's the thought that count. For me, this is even better than a billion-dollar-worth diamond!” Suzie uttered.Shawn’s eyes gazed down on the sapphire-adorned bracelet his sister was wearing and his eyebrow immediately shot up.Not expensive, huh?His gaze turned into a dark shader as his interest and curiosity about this omega girl increased. If this is not expensive for her, then how rich could she be?“It’s really not worth anything, Suzie.”Suzie didn’t say anything
Caitlin discreetly entered the noisy pub filled with dangerous people. She keeps on gazing around in fright of being attacked by someone.“Hey, miss!”“Hmm… smells good!”Dirty-looking men started to corner her at one corner before a loud and scary voice stopped them from behind.“Kevin!” Caitlin frantically ran over to the thug-looking guy with green eyes that glared at the men who tried to do something to her. The men tried to battle his stares only to have them running away after the monstrous growl of the rouge wolf. When the assaulters were finally out of sight, Kevin Smith pulled Caitlin over to his table where his men with huge bodies immediately scrambled after seeing their master with a ‘beautiful woman'.Kevin Smith is one of the rouge wolves that were crazily obsessed with her beauty and body. He was not that handsome but he was rich and had a hold on a bunch of hooligans whom she knows could help her settle some score with her disgusting sister.“What brought my goddess to
Bella faintly froze and blinked with bewilderment that she did not even notice she had. "What's wrong?" she asked.Shawn Tan did not say anything and just slowly stretched his hand towards Bella’s head."What are you doing?" She looked at him warily. "I’m warning you! Dare to move your hand and I’ll make sure that you’ll never be able to use this same hand once again!"Shawn just smirked at her knowingly, without saying anything else.Bella only felt a slight tickle on the top of her head as he reached for something over her head. Shawn Tan’s big hand later appeared in front of her eyes, with a leaf clipped on the tips of her long and slender fingers.Wait… was he just trying to take that leaf?Bella, completely embarrassed for being overly worked up, cleared her throat while shyly scratching her hair. "You could have just told me what it is. There’s no need to trouble yourself with my death threats just to do it yourself.""I'm happy to help, can't I?" Shawn Tan held up his glasses,
