Chapter 5 Rage

Inside Bella’s bedroom, she laid still on her bed with her eyes closed. Her forehead knotting in irritation.

After five more minutes of trying to call for sleep, she sat up furiously. Her hand reached out to scratch her long and disheveled hair, while annoyance filled her eyes.

“Damn, Caitlin! Now I can’t sleep anymore!” she hissed angrily.

Bella exhaled an exasperated breath, got up, and went out of her room. She’s a light sleeper who values the little few minutes she could rest. But that goddamn sister of hers just knows how to further ruin her already ruined day and just destroyed her once in a blue moon peaceful nap!

While she was about to descend the stairs, she heard Allen Richard’s voice coming out of his partly opened office.

“This is a serious matter at hand, Gaspal! I must make a move in order to salvage the pack’s reputation!” Bella leaned on the wall just beside the slightly opened door. Quietly eavesdropping on the conversation inside.

“I understand your concerns, Alpha. But don’t you think it’s too early to announce about marriage?” The corner of Bella’s lips curved upward as she heard the strained annoyance in Gaspal’s voice.

“Early?! You should’ve thought about that when you did that… that act with her!” Allen roared angrily.

Bella winced painfully as she felt the alpha’s overwhelming anger, despite being not in front of him. She waited to hear anything from Gaspal Ricks but ended up chuckling as she heard nothing from his side.

‘Whoops! Was that a no?’ Bella snickered silently as she waited for the conversation to resume.

“Alright. I’m not forcing you. Given that my daughter has yet to have her first turn, just at least, take her to meet your parents. Just to ease up the tension a bit.”

“Father—”

“I’m not talking to you, Caitlin!”

Bella wasn’t able to hold back her laughter anymore. The people inside the room immediately turned their heads to the door, only to realize that it was half open.

Maybe Gaspal failed to close it properly when he was called into the office after the alpha talked to his eldest daughter alone.

“Seems like someone doesn’t want to be tied down,” Bella said in a sing-song tone as she appeared by the door of the office. “Or maybe you just don’t want the soon to be bride?”

She pretended to be shock as she placed her hand over her lips that was currently forming a big ‘O’. “Maybe you wanted to shift brides? Should I marry you instead?”

“How long have you been in there?” Allen asked Bella with a dark face.

Bella shrugged her shoulders and leaned over the door’s frame. “Well, long enough to know that Gaspal Ricks declines your marriage proposal?”

Allen’s face contorted even more. “Stop talking nonsense and go back to your room!”

But Bella wasn’t afraid of him as she used to be when she was younger. Instead, she shifted her playful gaze to Gaspal Ricks, who was silently watching the family drama unfold in front of him.

“Hey, after kissing and all you refuse to get engaged with my sister?” she asked, her finger pointing at Caitlin.

Hearing Bella’s words, Caitlin, who was about to butt in into the conversation, shut her mouth instead. While Gaspal turned to look at Bella with a bit tinge of interest and hostility.

“Bella’s right. You had already tainted my daughter’s reputation and tainting hers almost means tainting the blue moon pack’s reputation as well. To make up for that mistake of yours, I wanted to meet your father and talk to him about your engagement,” Allen said with finality.

Gaspal’s jaw tightened. He knows he has no match against the alpha in front of him, so he nodded. “Then let’s do it according to your wishes, Alpha.”

Caitlin, on the side of the room, can only glance at Gaspal longingly. Gaspal’s family is one of the richest family under the Bluemoon pack. She would be the total star of the social empire if she really ended up marrying him!

After a few minutes of talking to the alpha, Gaspal excused himself. When he reached the door, his eyes lingered around Bella’s beautiful face before he forcefully pulled himself away from Allen’s office.

Meanwhile, the oblivious Caitlin was too happy to sense Gaspal’s unhappiness. So as soon as he left with Allen, she immediately turn to look at Bella with a mocking smile.

“See? That man is Gaspal Ricks, the only son of the richest family under the Bluemoon pack, and I’m gonna be his wife!” she boasted.

Bella crossed her arms over her chest and repeatedly nodded at her sister’s nonsense and one-sided daydreams.

“Oh? What an expensive trash he is.” Caitlin’s happy face contorted into an irritated one after receiving the insult.

“Just wait! When I successfully become his wife, I’ll no longer be just the alpha’s daughter but the pack’s madame! And when that time comes, I will drive you out of this house!”

“Really? I guessed you forgot you were the one who asked for my presence here?” she mocked, that rendered Caitlin speechless. “But well, I guess I should just wait for you to accomplish that… if you can, actually.”

Caitlin, fuming with anger, turned around and was about to leave when Bella’s taunting voice stop her from her tracks.

“I don’t like my current room.” Caitlin turned her head aside to look at Bella with curiosity.

Bella moved closer to her ears and whispered, “You’ve lived long enough as the alpha’s daughter. Don’t you think it’s now time to give the throne back to the real one?”

Caitlin froze on the spot. For a second, she didn’t know what to do or what to say. She only felt Bella’s light hands tapping on her shoulder comfortingly.

“First things, first. I shall have the room I truly deserved,” Bella said in a flat tone, but enough to shake Caitlin up.

Caitlin’s eyes widened as she chased after Bella, who was now walking towards her room.

“You’re dreaming! What nonsense are you talking about?!” she shouted angrily as she tried to violently pull Bella away from her room’s door.

“This is my room! This is my house! Everything here is mine!” she shouted, almost sounding crazy.

Bella’s lips curved upward as her hand grasp tightly on the knob.

“Okay, if you say so,” she said as she twisted the knob and successfully entered the room.
