Chapter 7 - Bella Richards

The next morning, as soon as Bella got up, Allen took her and Caitlin to report to Brighton University together.

The family seemed to have made peace regarding the conflict of last night’s chaos and only Caitlin had a stern face along the way, glaring at Bella who was preoccupied with her phone every now and then.

When they arrived outside of the university. Allen turned to face his daughters with a stern and strict face, his alpha aura dominating against them.

“This is the best university in Cynth City. Make sure not to cause any trouble in here, I took a lot of effort to get you both in,” He turned to look at Bella. “Especially you Bella, your grades are not good, the admin’s only willing to admit you to the education department. Though it was a low-cost profession, you can go back to the countryside to teach if ever.”

Bella raised her eyebrows suspiciously, where did he see her grades from? And what? They aren’t good?

That what should be good?

Caitlin immediately gloated at her, knowing that she was placed in the business management department. “Don’t worry, Bella. When I succeed as a business tycoon in the future, I won’t let your efforts of studying her go to waste by just teaching in the countryside.”

Bella rolled her eyes and shook her head with disgust while listening to her gloating sister.

“Bella?” The trio all turned around to see where the voice was coming from.

“The vice principal?” Caitlin’s voice slightly raised with recognition.

But the vice principal ignored her and walked over quickly to Bella with a very excited look on his face. “Bella! Why didn’t you say you would be coming?!”

Bella shrugged her shoulders casually treating the vice principal who was obviously years older than she is.

The vice principal's expression seemed to be torn on whether he should be crying or laughing.

Allen and Caitlin looked at each other.

"Sir, I'm Bella's father, I just processed her transfer, if she did anything wrong, I'll apologize to you for her—"

The vice principal ignored him and said excitedly, "Good! Transferring to a good school like ours is an excellent decision! I'll take you to the principal’s office! The old man has been talking to me about you for a long time, you're finally here! Without anyone forcing you!"

Bella walked ahead beside the vice principal who seems to be so overly pampering to her. This same man was known for being strict with his students and of course, he was known for giving severe punishments to hard-headed students.

Both Allen and Caitlin were at a loss as they watched the duo talking casually as if they have known each other for a very long time. The vice president of the school didn’t even bother to give them any attention.

Brighton University is a place wherein the hierarchy didn’t exist. The directors, principals, vice principals, deans, and other officers of the university never really cared who you were or from what family you came from. All they care about is the student’s capability, skills, and intelligence.

The vice principal was labeled as the “King of Punishments” by the students who experienced his wrath. So seeing him so kind to Bella who just came from the countryside confused the hell out of Allen and Caitlin.

“Dad, let’s follow up and take a look,” Caitlin said as a tiny bit of anxiousness slowly crept up her chest. It would be a real disaster for her if Bella really knows the higher-ups of this university!

They silently followed the two people who were obviously heading out to the principal’s office.

If the vice principal of Brighton University was someone the students avoid meeting, the principal was on another level. Students would do everything just to avoid him like a plague. He was not called “The Angry Dragon” for nothing.

The principal was known to be so short-tempered and impatient but he is so excellent with his work in disciplining the numerous students under his management so there’s no way the university could fire him.

The vice principal knocked symbolically on the door, and an impatient voice came from inside. "Who is it? If it’s nothing important don't bother me, I’m busy."

It sounded like a big temper.

The vice-principal wiped the cold beads of sweat forming around his forehead.

Bella sighed heavily before finally speaking, "It's me, Bella."

A chaotic "crackling" sound came inside the office and then within three seconds, the door finally opened.

The one who came out of the office was a bearded middle-aged man, and his eyes lit up when he saw Bella.

"You’re here?" he asked with disbelief as if Bella’s presence wasn’t enough to prove she was in front of him.

"Sir, Bella’s transferring to our school." The vice principal announced excitedly as if he saw the genius of the IT department calling to them.

Principal Jake, who was in his forties, was so excited that his hands trembled a little. He even tried to pull Bella's hand for a handshake, but she avoided it without moving.

"Feel free to arrange a department for me, I don't care where you put me." In response to the principal's attitude, Bella looked rather cold.

Principal Jake immediately invited her in and surrounded her asking this and that, he was very enthusiastic and attentive.

Meanwhile, Allen and Caitlin were left out of the conversation. They were just silently watching Principal Jake fussing over Bella throughout the whole process, and even fire up the admission procedure for her, fearing that she would regret joining the university.

And as if it wasn’t enough yet, she get to join the most famous and renowned department of Brighton University which is the Information Technology Department!

The IT Department of Brighton University is notoriously very difficult to get into. And hearing it coming right out of the Principal’s lips Allen suddenly thought that maybe they had mistaken Bella’s papers from Caitlin?

And so he butted into the conversation, “Sir, Bella grew up in the countryside. Her grades are very poor too and she probably knows nothing about computers. I’m afraid she’ll just drag the IT department down. Maybe you should consider my other daughter instead. Caitlin’s smart and capable!”

Hearing those words, Bella leaned back on the textured sofa as the corner of her lips rose up.

Looks like a nice show was about to play in front of her.
