Fiona's pov

“Logan?” I called out. My hand was already wet with my own tears. His fingers pressed mine tighter.

The wolf howled, louder than before, as if it felt his movement.

Men braced, Serena raised her sword again though her body was shaky. Amaiya gasped and fell back like she was afraid, i knew her fear was not for me or him but for her own skin.

Rowan leaned forward suddenly, his cup sliding from his hand, wine spilling down the table. His smirk faded. He had waited for this moment.

Logan’s chest rised up and down, twice. His eyes shifted open now, hazel burning in the torchlight. He tried to breathe, then his gaze landed on me.

“Fiona,” he called.

The sound of his voice after so long broke me. My tears came harder. I touched his face with both hands, whispering, “You’re here, you’re here.”

The wolf let out a roar, rough one.

Logan shoved me aside. His body still weak, but something poured through him, the floor light rushed from his skin as if the moon itself lived in him.

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   The pull

Fiona's povThe bond never let me breathe.I could fight Serena’s hand, I could push Logan away, I could even tell myself I wanted to vanish, but the bond stayed. It sat inside me, in my chest, in my veins. Always pulling me back to him.Even when I lay in Serena’s arms, her lips fierce on mine, my body still ached for him. That bond betrayed me.I told her once, whispering, “Stop… please stop.”My voice begged, but my body didn’t listen. It moved to her touch. My lips answered hers. My breath shuddered like it wanted more. Her eyes glowed in the dark. “Break it, Fiona,” she whispered hard against my ear. “End the bond with him. End it, and be mine.”I froze. My heart slammed.“Break the mate bond?” I asked. My words barely sound. She smiled — sharp, hungry. “Yes. You don’t need him. You don’t need the devil Alpha. I can give you more.”Her hand trailed my chest. My skin burned where she touched.I felt sick. Not because her touch was wrong, but because my mind was restless. She was t

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Before the council

Fiona's povFrom the rooftop I saw him. Logan in the clearing, his hand on Amaiya’s neck. His expression burned, his chest rising up and down. She kicked, but still smiled. Her words rose sharp into the night. “She does not want you. She never did.”My heart shook. I gripped the stone ledge. My breath breaking. I wanted to scream that she lied. I wanted to believe he was not the man she painted him to be.Deep down, I knew. Logan was drugged. I knew the truth. He was innocent. But the picture of that night would not leave me. Amaiya on his chest. Their lips locked. His body bare. I saw it. I lived it.That memory stabbed me again and again. I sobbed quiet.Beside me, Serena’s hand touched mine. She pulled me back from the ledge. “Do not break,” she whispered. Her voice steady, calm. “You are Luna. You must stand.”I leaned into her. Her warmth steadied me. For the first time, I let my head rest on her shoulder. Her arm wrapped round me. Comfort I should find in Logan came from her ins

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Beginning of a downfall

Fiona's povI sat on the ledge with my arms round my knees. My eyes were swollen, chest ached. I wanted a quiet moment but my head was full. The door opened.Serena came out. She shut it soft. Her boots clicked on the stone. She did not speak at first. She only looked at me.“Why are you here?” I asked. My voice rough.“I came for you,” she said. “You should not sit in the dark with tears on your face.”I looked away. My hands twisted in my lap. “I want to be alone.”“No,” she said. She stepped close. “You are strong, Fiona, but even strength needs arms around it.”Her hand touched mine, I flinched, but I did not pull away.“Serena…”She brushed my cheek. My skin burned under her fingers. Her eyes held mine. She leaned down. Her lips brushed me light, too soft to fight. My chest lifted. Then she kissed hard. Her arms pulled me in. My breath left me. I kissed back. The taste of her made my body tremble. Her mouth left mine and pressed on my neck. My head fell back. A moan broke from me

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Burning

Fiona's povThe chamber was lonely, only the rustle of wind against the shutters. I sat curled at the edge of the bed, fingers clenched in the blanket. My thoughts were a storm I could not still. Amaiya’s words, Logan’s hurt face at my door, the echo of betrayal that would not stop burning. The latch turned.I jerked upright. Serena slipped inside, her shoulders thrown back, her steps silent and certain. She shut the door with a care that made the hairs at my neck prickle.“What are you doing here?” My voice shook more than I wanted. Her gaze held me, piercing yet unreadable. “I couldn’t leave you alone.”“I don’t need.....”She cut me off by stepping closer, closer still, until her presence filled the space. “You do.”Her hand rose slowly, as though giving me time to push her away. I didn’t. Her fingertips brushed the edge of my arm, warm and deliberate. My chest rose sharply, my pulse stuttering.“Serena,” I whispered, unsure if it was warning or plea. Her hand trailed down my arm,

Fiona's povLogan’s voice chased me down the corridor, but I refused to turn back.“Fiona....please! Let me speak!”I didn’t want his words. I didn’t want excuses or apologies or oaths. I wanted silence. I wanted the image of him tangled with her wiped clean from my mind, but every step I took only seared it deeper.I reached my chamber and slammed the door shut, sliding the bolt hard. My chest heaved as I leaned against the wood, palms pressed flat to keep from falling. He had promised me. Promised I was the only one. And still, Amaiya’s body lay etched across him, her mouth, her hands, her heat where mine should have been.I pressed my fists to my temples, whispering through my teeth, “No more tears.” But tears came anyway.I curled into the bed, clutching the blanket as though it could shield me from memory. The rooftop air still lingered on my lips, Serena’s kiss burning quiet and wrong in the back of my mind. It should have been Logan I kissed, only him — yet my body had leaned i
