Jasmine’s POV

I locked the bathroom door and sat on the edge of the bathtub. My hands shook as I stared at the envelope. It felt heavy even though it was just paper inside. I pressed my lips together, trying to breathe, but my chest felt tight.

“This is it,” I whispered to myself. “Just open it.”

I tore the top carefully so I wouldn’t make noise. The paper slid out, smooth and cold against my fingers. My heart pounded louder than the sound of water dripping from the tap. I unfolded the paper slowly and read the words.

I froze.

I blinked hard, thinking maybe my eyes were lying, but the words stayed the same. Daniel is not the father.

“No…” I shook my head, my voice breaking. “No, no, no…”

I covered my mouth with both hands, feeling my body shake. My eyes burned and tears slid down my face. I tried to stop them, but they kept coming.

“Daniel… he lied to me. All this time, he lied.”

I let out a shaky breath and pressed my back against the cold wall. Memories flooded my head. The way he a

Blake’s POVI looked at her. My heart wanted to pull her close and never let her go, but her eyes told me something else. She looked scared. Tired. I swallowed hard and said softly, “So… you need more time?”She nodded. “Yes, Blake. Please… just give me time.”Time.Time. The word hit me like a punch. That word hurt like any other thing. I wanted her now. I wanted to hold her, to come with me, leave the blasted man behind, and never look back and take her far from him, make her mine again. But I also knew I couldn’t force her. I saw the fear in her voice and I knew forcing her would only push her away. And it was the last thing I wanted. I swallowed hard. “More time?” I asked slowly, just to make sure I heard right.“Yes,” she whispered again. Her fingers twisted together like she was nervous.I let out a slow breath. “Alright,” I said, even though it felt like cutting my own skin. “If that’s what you want… I’ll give you time.”She looked at me then, and for a moment, I saw it—the sam

Jasmine pov I stood frozen, his words still ringing in my ears. Did he just say he had proof of us being together? I don't know if I should believe his words or just overlook it. But the look in his eyes says he was damn serious about what he just said. “I have evidence.” he repeated again loud and clear as if I didn't hear him the first time. My lips trembled. My heart thudded so hard I felt it in my throat. I shivered from the cold and from the weight of his words. “Evidence?” I whispered. My voice barely came out. “What… What do you mean by evidence ?”Blake didn’t blink. His jaw was tight, and his eyes burned like fire. I could see he wanted to prove to me he meant every one of his words. “You said we weren’t meant to be. You said maybe we weren’t happy. You said maybe the universe didn't want us together which is why we're standing here like strangers. But I’m telling you, that’s a lie. I can prove it that we're meant to be. And we've been together in the past.”“Blake…” My v

Jasmine povThe morning came slowly, but my heart was already racing. I wanted Daniel out of the house. I needed him to leave as soon as possible .He stretched beside me and kissed my cheek like nothing was wrong. “Good morning, baby.”“Morning,” I said softly, forcing my lips into a weak smile. He touched my hair and studied my face. “You look pale. Are you sure you’re okay?”“I’m fine.” My voice cracked a little, but I prayed he didn’t notice. He leaned closer and whispered, “Are you strong enough now? Just a quick one before work.”My stomach knotted into something like disgust. “Daniel…” I pulled the blanket up, trying to hide my shaking hands. “You’ll be late.”He chuckled. “Five minutes won’t make me late.”“I can’t.” I looked down at my hands. “My waist still hurts from the fall. It’s bad today.”He frowned and sat up. “You’ve been saying that every day. Your waist always hurts you even when you don't fall.”“Because it still hurts every day,” I said quickly. “Please, Daniel.

Blake’s POVI sat waiting in the restaurant as we had agreed the previous day. I didn’t sleep well last night. How could I? Today was the day. The day I get one step closer to the truth.I checked my watch again. It was still early, but I had been here for almost an hour. I wanted to be here before her. I wanted her to see that I was serious.Every sound made me look up. Every car that passed made me hope it was hers. My heart thumped because I didn’t know how she was feeling. Would she come? Would she back out?Minutes dragged like hours, then I saw her. She walked fast, her eyes scanning around like someone who didn’t want to be seen. She wore a hoodie and big sunglasses. My heart clenched. Why did she have to hide like this?I stood up quickly. “Jasmine,” I called softly so no one else would hear. She turned, and when her eyes met mine, something pulled in my chest. She came closer, her steps quick. When she reached me, she opened her hand.“Here,” she whispered.I looked at her p

Jasmine POV I sat at the corner table, staring at the empty chair across from me. My hands played with the spoon on the table. I had been here for thirty minutes and there was no sign of him yet.I checked the door again. People walked in and out, but not him. My heart kept beating fast, and I didn’t even know why.“What am I doing here?” I whispered under my breath. I should leave before someone sees me. Before Daniel sees I've rebelled against him. The way he spoke the previous night frightened me and I couldn't help but think what he'd do to me if he found I actually disobeyed him.“This was an idea." I whispered as I stood up slowly to return to the house. My legs felt heavy as I walked toward the door. My mind screamed at me to run back home before it was too late. I pulled the glass door open, ready to step outside, and then I froze. He was there.Blake.His face was right in front of mine. My lips parted, but no words came out. My chest rose and fell like I had just run for mi
