“Why haven’t you booked a table at Le Bernadin for two?” I glared at Harry Bennett, my PA and right-hand man, handling my schedules efficiently for the last five years. I had no idea what I would have done without him. He had proved himself indispensable to me and to the company so far.

“They’re full-booked, sir. But I’ve booked a table for two at the Loeb Boathouse Restaurant.” He gave me a hesitant look while I waited for more details.

“Why there? Did I ask you to use your brain?” My stupid heart skipped a beat although I acted annoyed.

“Because I’ve booked a boat ride for two at the Loeb Boathouse. It’s the most romantic thing to do on a date night, sir. That’s where I had taken my wife to propose. It worked for us, and I’m sure it’ll work for you as well.”

I wasn’t as confident. This was the first time I was considering taking a woman out on a date. I didn’t know what had prompted me to announce it to Julia. Now there was no backing out. She would be mad at me. How woul

Julietta / JuliaThroughout dinner, his words echoed in my head. It’s gonna be a long night! What did he mean? I was dying to ask him, but something gripped hold of my tongue in his presence. All I could do was savor my dinner and wait for his next bombshell. “I’m waiting, Julia!” He was still watching me, and I blushed. Did he read my thoughts? It would be so embarrassing. “For what?” I tried to focus on our conversation now. Yet I couldn’t remember what he was waiting for. “Feed me. All couples do.” He smiled at the couple seated at the next table. “Don’t you think my fiancée should feed me?” It drew the attention of those around us. I wanted to die of embarrassment. With Dominic at his charming best, they obviously supported him. “Oh, I forgot.” With all eyes on us, I picked up some pasta and fed him, refusing to meet his heated gaze. He didn’t need to tell me explicitly why we would have a long night. His wandering gaze and erratic breathing were enough for me to know. He t

Julietta / JuliaDominic held out his hand for me to take. I didn’t know what he had planned for us, but I placed my hand in his. His eyes sparkled with renewed vigor, further arousing my curiosity. He led me towards the main gate rather than to his car. “Aren’t we taking the car?” I glanced at his amused face. “No, we’re walking.” He led me down the streets, and I looked around in a new light. I had been in New York for the last two years, but I had never enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city as much. “Where?” Now I realized why he had forced me to wear flats instead of the stilettos that matched the dress. His hold on my hand tightened as if he knew who I was thinking about. “You’ll see.” He smiled as he led me towards Central Park. “Oh, a walk in the park in formals!” I rolled my eyes, but he just gave me an amused glance. “Have you come here with your Eric?” He leaned in to whisper. I tried to snatch my hand free, but he held on firmly. “He isn’t mine. Can’t you get tha

  • A Deal With The Devil   Book 3: Chapter Twenty-Eight – Persuasive

Julietta / Julia“Ask me more questions and we’ll be even.” His voice was hoarse, and he grabbed the back of my head to crash his lips to mine all over again. It was like we were on a kissing spree. My heart pounded in my chest, and I clutched onto his T-shirt to pull him closer. He tasted of freshly brewed coffee – addictive, powerful, and intoxicating. He deepened the kiss, sliding a hand down to wrap around my waist and pull me closer. It seemed he had no intention of stopping. The kiss was slower but just as all-consuming as the previous one. It sent heat racing through my body. Why did I want him so much when I knew this was temporary? Could I believe him? Would he really destroy the prenuptial? Why would he do that when he didn’t love me? No, I had to guard my heart against Dominic Sylvester. His kisses would drive me crazy, and I couldn’t guard my heart much longer. At this rate, I would lose my heart and soul to him. “Dominic, no.” I wrenched my mouth free and struggled

  • A Deal With The Devil   Book 3: Chapter Twenty-Seven – What Am I Doing?

DominicJulia said she was ready. What was she ready for? Was it only for a kiss? But I needed more with her. I had no idea where this obsession came from. I was fine being celibate for so long.Over the last few years, the sex drive had been manageable without a woman. A few jerks in the shower were enough to take care of my needs. I didn’t trust women enough to give it much thought. They only needed my money and the luxurious life I could give them. Then what changed now? Why was I searching for excuses to kiss Julia? Why did I feel such a burning desire every time I was with her? It was enough to scald me, especially today after our heated interaction. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. When I came up with such a lousy, cliché deal, I hadn’t expected her to agree. No one in their right mind would do so. Yet she agreed, and it made my body tingle all over. Did she want me the way I wanted her?She picked up her empty glass and headed towards the kitchen for a refill. “Do you want some?”

Julietta / Julia“Likewise. So let’s start with twenty questions and get to know one another better.” I held his gaze to challenge him.He rolled his eyes. “That’s such a cliché game. I prefer something else. Do you play chess?”I nodded, waiting for his suggestion. Why did my heart pound in its cage? “Yes, but it’s not my favorite.”His eyes sparkled with a newfound excitement. “That doesn’t matter. So, whoever loses will have to face a question and answer it honestly. What do you think?”“Fine. Lead the way.” I knew I didn’t stand a chance against him, but I would surely try. He rose and held out his hand for me to take. It was like an olive branch, as if he wanted to work on our relationship.I placed my hand in his, and he led me to his entertainment room. Gaming consoles, a huge home theater system, and plush seating dominated the modernized space. I was sure it was better suited to Diego’s taste.“Let’s start right away. I’ll get the drinks. Beer, Coke, or orange juice?” He sto
