Chapter 6

Yara came back emotionally exhausted and frustrated with herself. She flinged her handbag on the sofa before plopping down with a tired sigh. Her head was thrown back and her eyes fluttered shut as she recounted all that happened the past few hours.

First, she had been discharged from the hospital where she was met with the shocking news that she had a child inside of her. It was so overwhelming that she had called her best friend- Cara who helped her with Grayson's company address. And just when she thought things would be sorted out, the worst happened to be the case.

God, she couldn't believe it. The way Grayson had denied the pregnancy was perplexing. But his arrogance and selfishness was the height of it all.

He had even shaded her to be a whore when he was very much aware that he- Grayson Dolan was the first man to ever lie with her.

The sound of the electric door bell had her fluttering her eyes open as she wondered who it was that came to visit her. She didn't have much friends asides Cara, Eleanor and Angelina; and they never told her they'd be coming.

Sighing angrily, she helped herself up and went to check who it was only to behold her best friend- Cara. Not knowing what to do, she engulfed her in a tight hug and didn't bother holding back her tears.

"Look who's being a big baby." Cara teased to ease the air as she patted Yara's back and took few steps inside, before shutting the door behind her.

Sniffing, Yara released her friend from the hug while wiping the tears that had streamed down her cheeks with the back of her palm. She shook her head, chiding herself for the catharsis.

"It's alright, Yara. Calm down and tell me what happened." The tall, pale skinned lady of her best friend said walking towards the sofa she had previously thrown her handbag on.

Yara cleared her throat, not knowing what to say cause she knew she'd still get scolded. She was oblivious of the fact that Cara had so many questions to ask her but was only being careful with her words so as to not make her feel uncomfortable. So she talked. Regardless of the fact, that she would still get chided.

"He was so rude and insolent when I met him this afternoon. And he denied the pregnancy straight up. You can't even imagine." She began.

"Grayson fucking did that?" Cara scoffed with her frown etching all over her face.

"Yes, and he talked about having nothing to do with the child unless a DNA test is conducted after birth."

"What was your response?" Now Cara had a poker face on as she let out a small, worried sigh.

"What could I have said to make Grayson change his mind? Everything I said made no sense to him and I'm sure it's because of his damn reputation. Maybe I should be villainous by telling the media. But the last thing I want is attention on me." Yara retorted, while being amazed by the audacity in which she spoke with.

Few minutes ago when Cara was nowhere here, Yara had felt really pathetic but now she was here, though anticipating her rebukes, she was making her feel much better.

This was the edge Cara had over the other girls. She was really good at making people around her comfortable, though she could be crazy. She knew when to talk, stop and all. And whenever she went too far, she knew the right thing to do.

"You won't even want to try doing that, Yara. And trust me, you don't have the guts. He'd turn the tables and the world will turn their backs against you and call you an attention seeker." Cara reported.

There was few seconds of silence and she waited for it. The scolding. Then the encouragement that would follow her unsieved words.

"Actually, Yara I can't believe you weren't even decent enough to use a condom. Having sex alone with Grayson is enough surprise but this is ... is really something else. For fucks sake!"

"I know but it has happened. That night was definitely not me with my senses. He was really attractive and... it all spontaneous and..." Trailing off, Yara rubbed her temples with a tired sigh.

She was starting to feel sick now.

"I'm sorry for judging you but you need to think about what's next. You won't just sit down and bear this all alone. I'll talk to my brother about this, if you don't mind. I'm positive that Grayson would want to ask him for advise. But then, are you aborting or keeping the child? You aren't yet through with school and your mother..."

That was it. The part that greatly worried Yara to the point where she was no longer thinking correctly with her senses.

Her mother was very religious and wouldn't just feel disappointed but heartbroken. She vowed to make her proud and she been doing that successfully till few months ago where she met that sinful, arrogant demon called Grayson.

"I'm never letting her know. And you shouldn't say a word about this to her either. I'm so drained right now." Tears had gathered around her eyes again as she looked away from Cara.

She wasn't going to answer Cara as regards her keeping the child or not. She wasn't ready for another earful cause though she wished all these to be a dream and detested the fact that she was having a child unprepared, there was no way she would eliminate the innocent child.

There was no way she was going to forgive herself if she ever did that. And she didn't want to live the rest of her life in guilt and discomfort.

Angrily, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, Yara swore within herself to make Grayson pay, in the most vengeful way ever. For she would never let him into her child's life, when he eventually comes begging like a damned dog.
