Chapter 6
Yara came back emotionally exhausted and frustrated with herself. She flinged her handbag on the sofa before plopping down with a tired sigh. Her head was thrown back and her eyes fluttered shut as she recounted all that happened the past few hours.First, she had been discharged from the hospital where she was met with the shocking news that she had a child inside of her. It was so overwhelming that she had called her best friend- Cara who helped her with Grayson's company address. And just when she thought things would be sorted out, the worst happened to be the case.God, she couldn't believe it. The way Grayson had denied the pregnancy was perplexing. But his arrogance and selfishness was the height of it all.He had even shaded her to be a whore when he was very much aware that he- Grayson Dolan was the first man to ever lie with her.The sound of the electric door bell had her fluttering her eyes open as she wondered who it was that came to visit her. She didn't have much friends asides Cara, Eleanor and Angelina; and they never told her they'd be coming.Sighing angrily, she helped herself up and went to check who it was only to behold her best friend- Cara. Not knowing what to do, she engulfed her in a tight hug and didn't bother holding back her tears."Look who's being a big baby." Cara teased to ease the air as she patted Yara's back and took few steps inside, before shutting the door behind her.Sniffing, Yara released her friend from the hug while wiping the tears that had streamed down her cheeks with the back of her palm. She shook her head, chiding herself for the catharsis."It's alright, Yara. Calm down and tell me what happened." The tall, pale skinned lady of her best friend said walking towards the sofa she had previously thrown her handbag on.Yara cleared her throat, not knowing what to say cause she knew she'd still get scolded. She was oblivious of the fact that Cara had so many questions to ask her but was only being careful with her words so as to not make her feel uncomfortable. So she talked. Regardless of the fact, that she would still get chided."He was so rude and insolent when I met him this afternoon. And he denied the pregnancy straight up. You can't even imagine." She began."Grayson fucking did that?" Cara scoffed with her frown etching all over her face."Yes, and he talked about having nothing to do with the child unless a DNA test is conducted after birth.""What was your response?" Now Cara had a poker face on as she let out a small, worried sigh."What could I have said to make Grayson change his mind? Everything I said made no sense to him and I'm sure it's because of his damn reputation. Maybe I should be villainous by telling the media. But the last thing I want is attention on me." Yara retorted, while being amazed by the audacity in which she spoke with. Few minutes ago when Cara was nowhere here, Yara had felt really pathetic but now she was here, though anticipating her rebukes, she was making her feel much better. This was the edge Cara had over the other girls. She was really good at making people around her comfortable, though she could be crazy. She knew when to talk, stop and all. And whenever she went too far, she knew the right thing to do."You won't even want to try doing that, Yara. And trust me, you don't have the guts. He'd turn the tables and the world will turn their backs against you and call you an attention seeker." Cara reported. There was few seconds of silence and she waited for it. The scolding. Then the encouragement that would follow her unsieved words."Actually, Yara I can't believe you weren't even decent enough to use a condom. Having sex alone with Grayson is enough surprise but this is ... is really something else. For fucks sake!""I know but it has happened. That night was definitely not me with my senses. He was really attractive and... it all spontaneous and..." Trailing off, Yara rubbed her temples with a tired sigh. She was starting to feel sick now."I'm sorry for judging you but you need to think about what's next. You won't just sit down and bear this all alone. I'll talk to my brother about this, if you don't mind. I'm positive that Grayson would want to ask him for advise. But then, are you aborting or keeping the child? You aren't yet through with school and your mother..."That was it. The part that greatly worried Yara to the point where she was no longer thinking correctly with her senses. Her mother was very religious and wouldn't just feel disappointed but heartbroken. She vowed to make her proud and she been doing that successfully till few months ago where she met that sinful, arrogant demon called Grayson."I'm never letting her know. And you shouldn't say a word about this to her either. I'm so drained right now." Tears had gathered around her eyes again as she looked away from Cara. She wasn't going to answer Cara as regards her keeping the child or not. She wasn't ready for another earful cause though she wished all these to be a dream and detested the fact that she was having a child unprepared, there was no way she would eliminate the innocent child. There was no way she was going to forgive herself if she ever did that. And she didn't want to live the rest of her life in guilt and discomfort.Angrily, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, Yara swore within herself to make Grayson pay, in the most vengeful way ever. For she would never let him into her child's life, when he eventually comes begging like a damned dog.The thought made Yara smile. A child was coming, so the mansion was not going to remain boring forever. The only issue she had at the moment with her pregnancy was the four temper that suddenly came with it. She something couldn't recognize herself any longer because she would snap and yell at anyone whenever she got cross.Yara did not want Tehila to be a victim of her foul temper so she gave her the opportunity of taking some time away from the mansion to breathe and do other things she wanted. But Tehila had vehemently refused, insisting of taking care of her. And that moved her to tears.Whether it was plain hatred for the word 'neighbour' or just because that he liked being alone, Yara had no idea. There were rarely people visiting Grayson. They did come once in a while and he even used to have indoor parties; but after that day she was almost raped, there was almost never a guest.Yara stared at her wrist. She was an hour late for their meeting. She wondered if Mr Fel had though
Yara pushed herself off the comfortable leather of the Benz. She heard a faint squish before peering through the windscreen from the back seat. A look through it made her realize they were not anywhere near the park. Hell, they had not even made it past Grayson's gate. She watched the sky high silver gate roll open slowly. She tapped her foot on the floor, with her pointer and middle fingers drumming against her head. That was the only thing that kept her from snapping at the bald headed gate man who stood watching the gate with the remote control in his wrinkled right hand. Her temper had gotten worse these past few days. Maybe it was because she was drawing nigh to day she would go into labour. She was about rolling down the glass to snap at the man, when the gate finally came open and the car resumed it's motion. She blew out a breath and let her back land on the chair. Yara closed her eyes for a few minutes in a bid to clear her head. What was she planning to do? She had no rea
"Yara please... I need you to for...give... I'll explain, okay? Let's just meet up..."My nails were digging into my skin at this point and I didn't mind the pain. Several thoughts ran through my mind at that moment as I waited for her to finish speaking. _Why did she even still have my number? Could it mean that she was actually shameless?_She felt her lips tugging up at that thought as she ignored the heavy breathing on the other end of the line. Just when my lips had curved into a full smile, a silly voice at the back of my head came crashing into my thoughts. _Or maybe it has something to do with the countless missed calls you give him on a daily basis with different numbers_. My smile fell at that moment and once again, she was filled with rage. If my subconscious was a person, she would have stabbed the living daylight out of it. At that moment, she became aware of David's voice at the other end of the line. She was only able to make out something about meeting him at a cer
The house greeted her with it's usual gesture, the silence resonating more than it had ever done. Her fingers brushed against the wooden lintel as she made her way into the sitting room, echoes of her footsteps thrown back at me with every step I took. Unsure if she was still in control of my body, she drifted further into the living room until she was well past it. Yara stepped onto the wooden staircase, my hand finding the banister as she moved up. Even with the left banister supporting her weight, she felt like she would trip at any moment and she would have grabbed onto the other banister if it wasn't miles away from my reach. _Fucking exaggerated staircase._After what seemed like ages, she found her way to her mother's study. She dropped down on the rotating chair in the middle of the room, feeling the leather crease under my weight. The impact caused her to spin around for a second before the chair came to a standstill. Yara stared at the monitor that faced me before my eyes
Yara glanced at her phone screen for the umpteenth time, resisting the urge to pick it up. She had been tempted to call Cara from the minute she informed her that she would be leaving for her honeymoon. It would only be right for her to call to check if they had arrived safely but then she didn't want to disturb her or interrupt her time with Covey. If they had arrived much earlier than planned, then her call would be a disturbance. After much thought, she decided to call her the next morning. At least then she would be sure she wasn't disturbing her. She let out a sigh, rolling over on her bed. The moment she cancelled out calling Cara from her mind, the next name that popped up in her head was Angelina. She hadn't spoken to her in a while and although she knew she probably wouldn't pick up her call, she grabbed her phone and rung her up..After about three trials, she gave up, deeming it pointless. She groaned, tossing her phone aside. Just then, her ringtone blasted through the
One of Covey's hands left Cara's waist, the grip of the other tightening to make up for the loss. His fingers trailed around the hem of her top for a moment before moving upwards. She let out a moan when his hand unclasped her bra and kneaded her breast. His lips left hers, allowing her to catch her breath while he sucked on the nape of her neck. "Covey," she moaned, feeling lightheaded. She was vaguely aware of the elevator arriving on their floor before a ding sounded and the door opened. Covey seemed completely unaware of the fact as his hands continued roaming every part of her body while his lips worked wonders. Covey nibbled on a particular spot, driving her completely over the edge. She let out a loud moan, shutting her eyes while relishing the pleasure. The things he did to her. She reopened her eyes to find a pair of eyes trained on her. She was speechless for about a minute before she finally found her voice. "Covey," she whispered, still staring at the people standing
