Chapter 6
Yara came back emotionally exhausted and frustrated with herself. She flinged her handbag on the sofa before plopping down with a tired sigh. Her head was thrown back and her eyes fluttered shut as she recounted all that happened the past few hours.First, she had been discharged from the hospital where she was met with the shocking news that she had a child inside of her. It was so overwhelming that she had called her best friend- Cara who helped her with Grayson's company address. And just when she thought things would be sorted out, the worst happened to be the case.God, she couldn't believe it. The way Grayson had denied the pregnancy was perplexing. But his arrogance and selfishness was the height of it all.He had even shaded her to be a whore when he was very much aware that he- Grayson Dolan was the first man to ever lie with her.The sound of the electric door bell had her fluttering her eyes open as she wondered who it was that came to visit her. She didn't have much friends asides Cara, Eleanor and Angelina; and they never told her they'd be coming.Sighing angrily, she helped herself up and went to check who it was only to behold her best friend- Cara. Not knowing what to do, she engulfed her in a tight hug and didn't bother holding back her tears."Look who's being a big baby." Cara teased to ease the air as she patted Yara's back and took few steps inside, before shutting the door behind her.Sniffing, Yara released her friend from the hug while wiping the tears that had streamed down her cheeks with the back of her palm. She shook her head, chiding herself for the catharsis."It's alright, Yara. Calm down and tell me what happened." The tall, pale skinned lady of her best friend said walking towards the sofa she had previously thrown her handbag on.Yara cleared her throat, not knowing what to say cause she knew she'd still get scolded. She was oblivious of the fact that Cara had so many questions to ask her but was only being careful with her words so as to not make her feel uncomfortable. So she talked. Regardless of the fact, that she would still get chided."He was so rude and insolent when I met him this afternoon. And he denied the pregnancy straight up. You can't even imagine." She began."Grayson fucking did that?" Cara scoffed with her frown etching all over her face."Yes, and he talked about having nothing to do with the child unless a DNA test is conducted after birth.""What was your response?" Now Cara had a poker face on as she let out a small, worried sigh."What could I have said to make Grayson change his mind? Everything I said made no sense to him and I'm sure it's because of his damn reputation. Maybe I should be villainous by telling the media. But the last thing I want is attention on me." Yara retorted, while being amazed by the audacity in which she spoke with. Few minutes ago when Cara was nowhere here, Yara had felt really pathetic but now she was here, though anticipating her rebukes, she was making her feel much better. This was the edge Cara had over the other girls. She was really good at making people around her comfortable, though she could be crazy. She knew when to talk, stop and all. And whenever she went too far, she knew the right thing to do."You won't even want to try doing that, Yara. And trust me, you don't have the guts. He'd turn the tables and the world will turn their backs against you and call you an attention seeker." Cara reported. There was few seconds of silence and she waited for it. The scolding. Then the encouragement that would follow her unsieved words."Actually, Yara I can't believe you weren't even decent enough to use a condom. Having sex alone with Grayson is enough surprise but this is ... is really something else. For fucks sake!""I know but it has happened. That night was definitely not me with my senses. He was really attractive and... it all spontaneous and..." Trailing off, Yara rubbed her temples with a tired sigh. She was starting to feel sick now."I'm sorry for judging you but you need to think about what's next. You won't just sit down and bear this all alone. I'll talk to my brother about this, if you don't mind. I'm positive that Grayson would want to ask him for advise. But then, are you aborting or keeping the child? You aren't yet through with school and your mother..."That was it. The part that greatly worried Yara to the point where she was no longer thinking correctly with her senses. Her mother was very religious and wouldn't just feel disappointed but heartbroken. She vowed to make her proud and she been doing that successfully till few months ago where she met that sinful, arrogant demon called Grayson."I'm never letting her know. And you shouldn't say a word about this to her either. I'm so drained right now." Tears had gathered around her eyes again as she looked away from Cara. She wasn't going to answer Cara as regards her keeping the child or not. She wasn't ready for another earful cause though she wished all these to be a dream and detested the fact that she was having a child unprepared, there was no way she would eliminate the innocent child. There was no way she was going to forgive herself if she ever did that. And she didn't want to live the rest of her life in guilt and discomfort.Angrily, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, Yara swore within herself to make Grayson pay, in the most vengeful way ever. For she would never let him into her child's life, when he eventually comes begging like a damned dog.Chapter 7Grayson slightly twitched his lips after putting down the empty wine glass that was once filled with intoxicant, down on the side table beside him.He watched intently as the thick, brunette lady undressed slowly under the dim light, right in front of him with a shy smile that was indeed pretty and alluring. Chuckling darkly, he nearly rolled his eyes as he wasn't affected nor enchanted by her vain effort of acting cute and sexy. He knew ladies like her who were trying to look all innocent and enticing. Then act all bad ass and skilled in bed, to give the jaw dropping effect to their client. So as to get more dollars on their thighs.Saying nothing, he quietly stood up from the bed, surprising the lady who was already swaying her hips while walking towards him. Meeting her half way, he roughly grabbed her chin and stared coldly in her eyes before tilting his head and claiming her lips in a fierce kiss that instantly made her moan loudly. Not waiting for her to recover from
Not knowing when he had fallen asleep, Grayson woke up to the sound of his ringtone which blared loud in the air. His brows furrowed to form an arch as he sat up and stretched his hands towards the side table to retrieve his phone.Letting out a sigh, he swiped through the screen as the caller ID showed that his father was the one calling."You're fifteen minutes late, Son. And you know I'm never pleased when one doesn't keep to the exact time of their appointment." The deep, baritone voice of his father made him dart his eyes to the square wall clock, adjacent the room door.He was indeed late."I'll be there before an hour." He nonchalantly responded before ending the call. His parents had asked him to come home for am important discussion few days ago and he promised to do so, for his mother's sake. He already knew why they were asking to meet with him.It couldn't be because of the company as he was taking care of the company, beyond expectation. And since his father handed it dow
Chapter 9"You could gaze into her eyes with your hands wrapped around her waist." The man on dreads said as he took pictures of Grayson and Tiffany. It wasn't funny to Grayson but he tried to remain cool in front of everyone. He smiled and snaked his right around her slim waist while gazing into her eyes.Meanwhile, Tiffany seemed to be so euphoric. She was surprised when he complied and gazed into his eyes which twinkled like stars. She knew Grayson had the choice of canceling the shoot and not showing up. But here he was, in his glory and handsome-ness. Making her heart skip as though she was teenager in love. After few more poses and countless clicks of the camera, they were left alone."What was that for?" Grayson almost snapped at her.Tiffany seemed dazed. She furrowed her brows and asked him in perplexion. "What are you... talking about?""Don't be a dunce and answer me. What did you tell my parents and why are you here?" He asked with a glare."Nothing. Your mother called an
Chapter 10Grayson felt a bit relieved. His friend's words had actually gotten to him, though he didn't show it. Now, he was going to look for Yara and sort things out with her while he hoped she haven't left NewYork in anger. He knew he been so mean and rude to her when she came but that was for the best. There was definitely no time to waste. He had to quickly start making moves so asked Michael to give him Cara's number. He could remember her introduce Yara to be her best friend, that faithful night. So, she'd definitely have an idea of Yara's whereabout."You better start rotting in hell. I'm never giving you Cara's digits." Michael retorted quickly at his request. Grayson chuckled and rubbed his temples. "I'm not going to hit on her. I just want to ask about Yara who she's close with.""You better find another means of reaching Yara. My sister is mad at you and wouldn't hesitate to snap off your fucked up head for messing with her best friend."Grayson sighed and pleaded once m
There in her living room was Yara and her best friend watching a thriller movie while eating brownies and drinking lemonade.Cara had recommended the movie and brought the brownies along when she visited Yara, to lighten up her mood and spend quality time with her."I'm damn tired." Yara yawned, flipping her hair as she stood up from the couch she had earlier plopped down on."You promised to watch till the end." Cara quickly reminded her with an unimpressed voice."I really feel jaded... and nauseous." Yara retorted going into the kitchen and returning few seconds later with a glass of warm water. She sat on the tiles, regardless of how cold the weather seemed to be. She simply took a gulp before dropping the glass beside her with a sad look on her face, ruining her pretty look.Cara wanted to help out but nothing seemed to be really working out. Her friend got tired easily, and got more bored. She enjoyed doing awkward things and would get frustrated over little things that ought no
Chapter 12It was at first shocking for Yara. She felt her mouth impulsively shut close as those words escaped his lips. Before a scoff forced her clamped mouth open, and her eyes went around him in acrimonious scrutiny."Are you sick in the head, Grayson?" She asked. But this man before her seemed calm, acting all oblivious of her reaction. And as though he didn't just spit out what he did few minutes ago. "Definitely not. I won't quit apologizing for being a dickhead. But I'm being sincere and-" "You should leave my house this moment. Your celebrity girlfriend would be so disappointed to know you're with another woman right now when your dating teasers just got all over the net few hours ago." Yara pointed out with a hard glare.Of course, she had no pity for Tiffany Marks or whoever the curvaceous, high profiled bitch was. She, as well had no one piting her fucked up condition of having an unwanted child in her when she was nothing but ready for one. And the last person she expe
Chapter 13She had proceeded to dial Cara's number. That sweet bitch of a best friend was the literally the only person she had to talk to, in the world. She couldn't tell her mom. Neither could she tell her other close friends who she knew wouldn't understand her situation and would probably make insensitive jokes about it.As usual. It reminded her of a faithful day, six months ago. Her three friends had visited her since she canceled out on their girls night hangout, earlier before the time. She didn't want to disappoint them more than she already did. As, missing out on their well planned night hangout was enough disappointment. Regardless of the fact that she called before hand to count herself out.The girls had decided to visit her to probably force her to get dressed and tag along with them. Cause in their own terms "Nothing would be the same if she wasn't around."She knew that, though. Her personality was different from the other three. She had her special uniqueness whic
Chapter 14Grayson couldn't take it any longer when his mother texted him as regards coming over for dinner the next day with Tiffany. At first, he ignored her text while angrily trying to calm the fuck down and not warn her to never repeat whatever smart move she had done few days ago at the photo studio. But when his dad called shortly after in the most serious voice ever, it dawned on him that this wasn't the time to neglect their words and act around as he wished cause the threat of his cousin taking over the company still got to him.He would never live to see Xavier leading the company he worked his damn ass for. No matter how ostentatious people around him claimed he lived or spend, he knew he deserved that lifestyle. Tiffany already texted him, asking what color of the outfit he was going to put on tomorrow at dinner so she would dress in accordance. He knew what game Tiffany was playing. She was now assuming roles she no longer is and would never get be again. In fact, sh
