Clara’s POV

The car kept moving, and throughout the minutes that had passed, silence was all I got.

Not even an answer to my question was rendered to me. It's as though they were all following orders not to say a word.

After almost an hour of driving, we finally arrived at a massive, luxurious mansion that was sparkling with perfection.

The gates automatically rolled open, and the SUV drove in. I became even more confused than before. If we were going to see the boss, wasn’t this supposed to happen at the strip club?

This mansion looked more like a government official’s residence—or maybe even the White House. It was unreal; the design was top-notch, and the cars parked in the garage made me wonder if this was a place where luxury cars were sold. There were more than twenty cars, and each of those cars, if I were to do the math correctly, could be nothing less than a hundred thousand dollars.

I stared around, and my mind was clouded with astonishment. I hadn't seen anything this perfect and luxurious in my entire life. I didn't even know a place like this could exist here in this city. It totally felt like heaven, a paradise, a dream I could never reach. I began getting nervous not because of the boss I was meeting, but because of what I was seeing. At some point, I began having doubts if I was truly being taken to see the boss, or if Derick had a dark intention toward me.

The SUV door opened, and I stepped out, and with my feet on the clean floor I felt my legs getting heavy.

“Let’s go,” Derick instructed as he stood beside me.

I nodded, still unsure and completely blank on where we were going next, because this mansion seemed like it had no entrance—or perhaps that might just be the way it was designed.

“Could this be another client I'm to strip for or the boss himself?” Another thought slapped my face with a new, resonating doubt.

We entered the mansion, and the interior nearly took my breath away. The design was exquisite—clean, expensive, and far beyond anything I had ever seen in my life. It felt like walking through a dream I didn’t belong in.

I was dumbfounded, my lips parting in wonder and my eyes widening in surprise. My hands were shaking, and it wasn't fear this time, but something else—something inside me that felt perfect and unbelievable, or perhaps it might be from the luxurious and expensive things I had seen.

“Wait here,” Derick said, motioning with his hand, and I stopped in my tracks.

“We wait for the boss. He’ll come see us himself.”

I stood in place, nerves eating me alive. My heart thundered as I waited.

“Here you are again,” a voice called from upstairs. I turned and saw the boss descending the stairs with calm, deadly grace. He walked toward us and took a seat on one of the elegant couches.

“Please, have a seat,” he gestured softly and calmly.

I gulped down my throat and sat across from him, my lips sealed. I dared not ask why I was summoned. He was too dangerous. I’d heard enough to know that any wrong move could cost me more than I could afford.

“Well,” he began, his fingers laced together on his lap, “you must be wondering why I brought you here.”

I stayed silent.

“I have good news, and I have bad news. And among this an offer stands in the middle and it’s up to you to make the choice.”

After saying this, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

He dragged, and when he puffed out the smoke, it coiled in circles.

“Where should I begin? The good news? The bad? Or the offer?”

I hesitated, my eyes blinking with uneasiness, before frantically nodding my head like a deaf patient.

“Shaking your head doesn’t give a straight reply and what I need is a straight reply. Do you prefer me losing the last thread of resilience in me? You know what comes next,” he growled, and it was almost as though a predator was warning its prey.

“St-start with the good news, sir,” I stammered, my hands trembling in my lap.

He gave a small smile and exhaled another cloud of smoke from his mouth before calmly replying, “As you wish.”

And he began, “The good news is, you’ve earned my trust.”

My heart fluttered for a moment even though I was still confused. Then he continued, “The bad news is, your debt has increased to five hundred thousand dollars.”

My heart stopped.

Huh?

I blinked.

I felt like the world had just dropped from beneath my feet.

“I… I don’t understand,” I choked.

“What don’t you understand?” he said, his voice cold. “Do I need to repeat myself?”

I nodded, struggling to form words. “Yes.”

“The reason your debt has skyrocketed is simple. I found out your precious Alaric didn’t just run off with the money he borrowed—he stole an additional five hundred thousand dollars from me before he vanished. And you…” He leaned forward. “…you are the only person left to pay it off.”

My mouth went dry.

My vision blurred.

I was speechless.

“Stole?” I whispered, still in disbelief. That bastard. He didn’t just ruin my life, he destroyed it. And now paying off five hundred thousand dollars is like a death sentence to me.

How on earth... just how on this godforsaken earth can I accumulate such an amount to pay?

My heart beat faster, harder.

Was Derick right all along?

Would I really rot away as a stripper until I die?

Then the boss spoke again. “And here is where the offer comes in. One that would grant you freedom—complete freedom from your debt.”

I looked up at him, my eyes widening. Could this be hope? Or could this be another of his tortures?

“Sell yourself to me.” The words dropped like a bomb from the boss's mouth.

He continued, “Become mine. My puppet. My toy. My property. In return, I’ll clear your debt and give you the life you’ve always dreamed of.”

He paused, watching me like a hawk.

And the words dropped again, “If you refuse, your only option is to continue paying off the five hundred thousand. And you know how that works: by stripping in my club. Until it’s all paid.”

His words became like a dagger to my chest. I was bleeding, not physically but mentally.

Sell myself? How was that any different from the cage I was already in?

I froze.

I couldn’t move.

I couldn’t speak.

I couldn’t cry.

He leaned back on the couch, the cigarette between his fingers still burning, as he continued, “I’ll give you two days to give me an answer.”

  • A Debt With The Boss    All Over Me

Clara’s POVThe old woman seems to be very friendly, and I could only smile at all her words; I didn’t even know who she was.Derick, who was beside me, served the food on the table, and I kept wondering if there wasn’t any servant in the house that would do that. Another thing that was getting me very baffled was how I couldn’t see any servants around. The house was very massive, and with this luxury, it was expected to have a lot of servants.“Why aren’t you eating?” the old lady asked, and that was when I snapped out from my thoughts and began to eat.For the entire time, the boss didn’t say a word when he saw me, unlike him when he was used to meanly taunting words.“My name is Jenni, and I’m Lucas’s mother,” the old woman introduced herself.I became stunned. Why invite me to a dinner with his mother, and why was she acting so calm and friendly to me? Could he have told her what had happened, or could he have told her why he had kidnapped me? Because at this stage, this is clearl

  • A Debt With The Boss    An Hour To Dress

Clara POVTime flew by and I couldn't even tell what time it was at the moment. Not only was there not a window that could tell if it was evening or night, but I didn't have my phone on me that could tell me what time it could be or how I would know if it was the next day.It was all about guessing. If the ground gets a bit colder, it means it might be night, and when the coldness from the ground reduces, then it's afternoon. And that's how I kept track of time.Just like before, the door pushed open, but it wasn't the boss that was standing in front of it—it was Derick, the bouncer from the club.He didn't say anything; he was just standing in front of the door and staring at me. And then he began to take a step forward, and on reaching close to me, he brought out a key and unlocked the iron chain restraining my hands and legs. His huge, intimidating body stood before me, and with a deep voice, he instructed, "Stand. It's time for you to look presentable to the boss. He doesn't like

  • A Debt With The Boss    His Cruel Nature

Clara POVBelow me was a wet floor. Cold was cutting through my body like I was placed in a refrigerator, my legs were chained, my hands were chained as well, and the only light before me was from a bulb hanging from the ceiling. In this room there was no window, and not just that, the room was very small—like it was a prison. Though, that's exactly what I could see it as at the moment, and for the second time, I cried. What have I gotten myself into?"If you had listened to me and given me an answer, I wouldn't have made things hard for you. But as you have disobeyed me, I would have no choice than to do to you what I have prevented myself from doing to you the first day your boyfriend defrauded me."I was still in chains when he was speaking, and every breath I dragged into my lungs felt like needles poking me from the throat. I felt dry, couldn't even speak. Only God knows how long I have been chained here, and also from his words stating that "it took me long to wake up."Another

And not just that, Otis didn't appear to be aggressive at the boss; it's as though the had known each other from somewhere. Lucia's eyes were filled with fear as she stared at me, and the boss was sneering while staring at me as well."I've been waiting for a reply, and because I didn't get any, that's why I had come to ask for the reply myself," he said softly, as though he was trying his best to subdue his anger and trying to act nice. "So tell me, what was the answer? Do you prefer to be mine, or do you prefer to be the little bird in the cage?"Cage! The word "cage" repeated inside my head like a plague devouring me. • A Debt With The Boss    Pretty Little Kitty

Clara POVWhen Lucia finally heard my own side of the story she was very disappointed in me, she couldn't reconcile that all those signs had been showing themselves to me that Alaric was nothing but a fraud, but I still didn't accept it because I was so blinded by love. But among all I had told her, the part where I had to pay five hundred thousand or give myself to the crime boss had really got her."What are you going to do now? Do you want to give yourself out to the crime boss?" she asked, her face filled with concern.I had also told her the offer that the crime boss had given to me, but she didn't accept that. She had seen it as slavery, and she won't allow me to embark on such a trade that requested my very own self.As she asked those questions, I didn't know what I was to tell her, neither did I have a choice to make at this point in time. I was confused."There's no way I would give myself to him." I shook my head dismissively as I said those words, and Lucia agreed with me.

I will tear your skin into pieces of shreds!" he threatened, and before I knew it, he dragged me into his arms and strongly choked me with his hands."Do you prefer your friend to die, or are you going to drop that wood in your hands?" The man's cold voice sounded with a sneer tugging around his lips. His strangle around my neck was becoming so tight that I felt my breath glitching.I struggled, but with every try, his grip intensified. And just then, Otis, who had been kicked like a ball previously, ran toward the man's and bit one of his legs. "Ahh, you stupid dog!" He tried kicking Otis for the second time, but Otis didn't allow that to happen. And using this distraction, I slid myself away from the man's grip. When the man turned to chas
