Chapter 2

Author: Simple Fish
With a single strike, one of Scarface's eyes was ruined.

Scarface let out a shrill scream, clutching his eye as he staggered backward, blood pouring through his fingers.

Dominic didn't retreat. Instead, like a madman, he lunged out from behind the table, slammed Scarface to the floor, and began smashing his own head into Scarface's skull again and again.

All around them, Scarface's crew stood frozen in shock.

Dominic was practically throwing his life away!

Dominic's forehead was soon slick with blood, but he didn't care at all. From the way he looked, he was ready to crack Scarface's head open right there.

The others finally snapped out of it. One of them rushed forward and punched Dominic in the head.

"You damn lunatic, let go of our boss!"

The rest piled in, surrounding Dominic and attacking him together.

But Dominic seemed unable to feel pain. He kept his grip locked on Scarface, taking every blow without dodging.

At that moment, Dominic had only one thought: Even if he died, he would drag Scarface down with him.

Scarface's eyes rolled back as he was choked. One of the men realized something was very wrong and grabbed a wooden chair, raising it to knock Dominic out.

Luckily, several guards rushed over and forced everyone apart.

A few guards moved in to restrain Dominic.

But Dominic, completely unhinged, was terrifyingly strong. Three guards couldn't hold him down.

Only when more guards arrived and worked together did they finally pin him to the ground.

Even then, Dominic found an opening and bit down hard, tearing off one of Scarface's ears.

In front of everyone, he chewed it briefly and spat it onto the floor, sending chills down everyone's spine.

Scarface's crew was utterly terrified. Not a single one of them dared step forward.

The captain of the guards, Thomas Gild, rushed in. When he saw the scene, his face went pale with rage as he pointed at Dominic.

"What do you think you're doing? Do you have any idea how serious it is to cause trouble in prison?"

Before Thomas could finish, Dominic suddenly broke free and sprinted straight toward the distant wall.

Every guard froze in horror. Dominic was clearly trying to kill himself.

Just as he was about to smash his head open, an elderly man leapt out from the side, wrapped his arms around Dominic's waist, and tackled him to the ground.

Only then did the guards snap out of it and rush over to restrain him again.

Seeing that Dominic truly wanted to die, Thomas didn't dare say anything more and ordered his men to subdue him.

After that, Dominic was sent to the infirmary for treatment.

Because he was clearly suicidal, they put him in a restraint gown normally used for psychiatric inmates and strapped him to the bed.

Even so, Dominic didn't give in. He lay there refusing to eat or drink.

His parents' deaths had drained all meaning from his life. Death was the only thing he was after.

They could only keep him alive with an IV drip at the infirmary.

After several days, Dominic grew thinner and weaker, his life hanging by a thread.

That day, as usual, the infirmary was being cleaned.

The door opened, and a thin elderly man walked in.

He looked to be around 60. He was the same inmate who had saved Dominic.

He tidied the room. When the guards moved off on patrol, he walked over to the bedside.

Looking at Dominic's empty eyes, the old man sighed.

"Kid, you can't just die."

Dominic didn't respond and just stared blankly at the ceiling.

The old man continued, "I'm not here to tell you to move on, and I'm not telling you to forgive. I just want to remind you that nobody will avenge your parents if you're dead."

That sentence finally sparked something in Dominic's eyes.

He glanced at the old man but still didn't speak.

While cleaning, the old man said casually, "Do you really think your parents died in an accident? Let me tell you the truth: They were killed. Silenced."

Dominic's expression changed sharply. He finally spoke up.

"What did you say? How do you know that?"

The old man snorted. "I guessed."

Dominic frowned. "Guessed?"

The old man chuckled. "What, you think I'm messing with you?

"Kid, I've lived a long life. I've seen all kinds of people and all kinds of things. After living for over 60 years, I know one truth better than anything.

"When something feels off, it probably is."

Dominic swallowed. "Wh-what do you mean?"

The old man set the mop aside and looked at him.

"I'll ask you one thing. Did you kill that girl, Judy?"

Dominic shook his head hard. "Absolutely not."

The old man shrugged. "Exactly. You didn't kill her, but there were witnesses and evidence that sent you to prison. What does that tell you?

"It tells you someone set you up. Someone killed Judy and pinned it on you.

"And your parents dying in a crash while filing an appeal means only one thing. They must've found something important, and they were killed so they wouldn't talk."

Dominic took a deep breath. He had never thought about it this way before, but now it all felt wrong.

His parents were actually murdered?

The pain tore through him, and his eyes filled with a vicious light.

Seeing that look, the old man nodded to himself, clearly satisfied.

"So, do you wanna die now, or do you wanna live and get revenge for your parents?" the old man asked with a smile.

Dominic clenched his teeth, then slumped.

"But… how can I get revenge? I don't have what it takes."

The old man smiled faintly.

"If you really want revenge, I can help you."

Dominic's eyes widened. "Really?"

The old man nodded calmly. "Yes. But before that, you need to prove you've got the will to see it through."

Dominic froze. "H-how do I prove that?"

The old man replied, "Start eating today. In a few days, they'll send you back to your cell block.

"Scarface has already said he's gonna kill you. If you can survive him, I'll help you."

Dominic's face grew serious.

Scarface had dozens of followers inside the prison. If Scarface really wanted him dead, how could he survive?

Seeing his doubt, the old man said slowly, "How you stay alive is up to you. The world is cruel. If you can't even protect your own life, you don't deserve revenge."

Dominic took a deep breath and said through clenched teeth, "I will survive."

The old man smiled lightly and tossed a book onto the bed.

"If you want better odds, read this. It'll do you some good."

Dominic glanced at it. It was a common medical textbook from the infirmary, probably belonging to a doctor.

"Why read this?" he asked, confused.

The old man replied, "Look for the weakest parts of the human body. Learn where to strike to kill someone the fastest. These are killing skills."

Dominic suddenly understood. He gripped the book tightly and nodded hard, his eyes filled with resolve.

He would repay his parents' deaths and the injustice done to him with his own hands.

The notebook mainly recorded transfer logs and various transaction records. Each transfer entry had a receipt attached from the time the money was moved.Dominic didn't recognize any of the account names, but the amounts involved were enormous. The transfer records were only the beginning. Toward the back, there were photos. Those photos were far more direct. Most of them were explicit bedroom photos. They showed adults, sometimes men in their 50s or 60s, lying in bed with young, attractive women.Among those photos, Dominic even found pictures of Judy. She appeared in bed with at least a dozen different men.He also spotted bedroom photos of several celebrities.Dominic didn't fully understand the transfer records at the front. But looking at these photos, he could pretty much guess what they were about. There was no doubt Stanley had taken these photos. Those men were likely powerful figures. Stanley used young women to entertain them, secretly took photos, and then used

"Th-there's a safe upstairs," Nicholas stammered. "If you don't believe me, I-I'll open it right now and give you all the money inside."Besides, if you kill me, y-you won't make it out either. The cops will hunt you down!"Dominic said coldly, "You think I'm afraid to die?"My parents are dead. I never planned on living anyway."Killing you and your old man is how I avenge them. I don't mind going to meet them soon."Nicholas's face turned deathly pale. He hurriedly said, "Y-you're not afraid of dying, but what about your friend?"He helped you fight us. That makes him an accomplice. So many people died here. For an accomplice, how many years do you think he'd get?"Those words made Dominic stop mid-motion.He looked over at Hector. He wasn't afraid of dying himself, but with so many dead here, Hector definitely wouldn't walk away clean.Hector had fought Stanley just now. If law enforcement dug into this later, Hector could easily be labeled as his accomplice.Seeing Domin

Dominic kept his eyes locked on the two men while reaching down to pick up his shoe from the floor.Earlier, when that bodyguard grabbed his leg, he had yanked the shoe right off.Holding the shoe, Dominic backed up a few steps, then bent down as if to put it back on.The two bodyguards immediately seized the opening and charged together, raising their blades and hacking straight at Dominic.Just as they were about to reach him, Dominic, who had been crouched over, suddenly straightened up.He didn't put the shoe on at all. Instead, he yanked off his sock and swung it hard at the two bodyguards.Earlier, Dominic had stuffed a plastic bag full of lime inside that sock as well.Pretending to put his shoe on was just a cover so he could pull the bag out and get the lime ready. It was also meant to lure the two bodyguards closer. And sure enough, they charged right in.With a sharp flick of his wrist, the plastic bag inside the sock tore open, and the lime exploded outward in a w

Ignoring the pain, Dominic wiped the blood off his face hard, clenched his teeth, and struck again, slicing that bodyguard's throat as well. That situation didn't last long.In the end, Nicholas managed to drag Rowena over to the liquor cabinet. He grabbed a bottle and hurled it at one of the bodyguards. "Catch this!"The bottle slammed into the man's chest. His reaction was quick. He caught it immediately.Without hesitation, he popped the bottle open and poured the liquor straight over his face. The alcohol washed away the lime. His eyes still burned, but at least he could open them now.He wiped the residue off his face and shoved the bottle into another bodyguard's hands. "Wash your face! I'll deal with this guy first!"With that, he lunged toward Dominic. The other bodyguard took the bottle and did the same, splashing liquor on his face to clear the lime. The first bodyguard had already reached Dominic and slammed into him, tackling him to the ground.Seeing this, Nicho

The glasses Dominic had prepared ahead of time turned out to be useful. At least it blocked some of the lime powder. On top of that, he had smeared a lot of oil over his body earlier, including his face and even around his eyes.Lime can be wiped away with oil, so it barely affected him at all.The bodyguards, caught completely off guard, had lime burned into their eyes and couldn't see anything around them. With oil all over the floor, several of them slipped and fell in the chaos, turning the scene into a complete mess. While the bodyguards were busy squeezing their eyes shut and dodging the lime, Dominic charged straight into the crowd. The first ones he reached were two bodyguards desperately rubbing their eyes. Lime mixed with moisture made the pain unbearable, and they had no attention left for anything else.Dominic reached them and struck without hesitation, using both boning knives to slice their throats. They followed the same fate as the earlier guard, collapsing to

"You can't even begin to understand who's backing me," Stanley said coldly. "If I want you dead, it's no harder than stepping on a bug. Got it?"He waved a hand in irritation. "If you won't talk, I'm done asking."He turned to the bodyguards. "Take him out. We'll deal with the body later."As he spoke, he leaned in close to Dominic and let out a low, mocking laugh."See those two guys over there? They're the ones who killed your parents. And now you're dying by their hands, too."That makes a nice, clean circle for your family. Starts with them, ends with you."He laughed openly, smug and satisfied.Dominic's vision went red.He stared at the two men, the murderers of his parents, his gaze stripped of everything but murderous intent."Stanley!"Dominic barked the name like a curse.Stanley smirked. "What? Finally ready to talk?"He shook his head. "Doesn't matter now. I don't even care about that autopsy report anymore. I just want all of you dead. Burn the evidence and mov
