The sky outside was beginning to pale with the first hint of dawn when Antonio stirred. Blinking the sleep from his eyes, he looked down at the woman nestled against him. She was sleeping peacefully, her breathing even and soft, like a child in the arms of safety.

A faint smile tugged at his lips. Her skin felt like silk beneath his palm, her slender frame curling instinctively into him. She looked so innocent like this—serene, untouched by pain.

Yet, he remembered her tears, cries, the storm of hurt hidden behind those fierce eyes. And something twisted inside him—a need, fierce and unfamiliar, to protect her.

Antonio followed the instinct of his fingers that brushed the strands of her hair off her face.

She looks so beautiful, so peaceful—soft, like an angel in slumber, like one who never gets upset. His smile broadened upon remembering her angry, cute faces, but his face dropped when he also recollected the pains, the fears on her face, and her cries.

Antonio stared into her captivating emerald eyes. ‘ Beautiful,’ he thought before his gaze fell on her lips and a soft exhale escaped his lips. Pink, lush, and so inviting. His fingers ached to touch them, feel them against his thumb. But something aches for more. His lips. They ached for a taste, to know what they feel like. He saw from her throat, her gulp, and he smiled. “ Too bad, I'm not in the mood to break rules,” he muttered with a smirk. Eloise returned with a similar smirk. She blinked her eyes softly and said, “Too bad, you ain't my type to break rules with.” With that she pushed him off her and sat up, rolling her eyes and looking away from him. Antonio grinned. A fast one that Eloise missed as she was looking away, and then, the car started moving again. “ So you don't wanna break rules with me?” “ You're not my type,” “ Really? Why don't I believe that, I'm every woman's type.” Eloise scoffed. She turned to him in disbelief, his overconfidence tugg

“ I can't believe you. How could you do that!?,” Eloise yelled at him,“ Do what?” he asked plainly, like he had no idea what she was talking about.Eloise scoffed, she could feel her blood boiling hot inside her veins.“ You nearly hit someone!” she shouted, pointing to the back as if the man was behind them.He didn't reply immediately, rather, he swirled the wheel, changing direction.“ So now you can speak?” he asked coolly, “Haven't you been giving me cold shoulders?”“ Since when have I ever given you warm shoulders?”“ Fair,” he muttered, “ But don't you think you owe me an apology?”Holly! Molly!Eloise threw herself back on the seat, clenching her fist so hard as she screamed internally. She felt pushed to the edge of losing her cool.‘How can someone be this infuriating!’She screamed in her mind, grunting out loud. Every hair on her body couldn't stand another second with him. “ You left a man there and you're concerned about me not apologizing?!,” she let out the loud, an

“You shouldn’t wait there till she gets out. What if she gets off work late?" Mrs. Trumpour said over the phone, “ No, Mum, she could get off work at any time, I really must know where she's been staying all this time,” Tamara replied. She couldn't help but be curious about where Eloise has been apart from being at work. Mason had searched for her everywhere he knew she could be but she was nowhere to be found. “ Come home once you find out,” Mrs. Trumpour said, “ Sure,” “ Alright, bye,” and with that, she hung up. Sighing, Mrs. Trumpour sank deeper into the sofa, displeased with how stressed Tamara was getting over Eloise. It felt familiar, too familiar. She shut her eyes and her mind fell on the image of Camila, Eloise’s mother. Eloise was a replica of her mother, with similar emerald eyes, black shiny hair, flawless skin, and a curvy figure that turns heads. If it were beauty, Camila has it all; if it were intelligence, she's got a degree in that. She was a perfect p

What's she doing here? How did she know she was there? Eloise furrowed her brow as she wondered. She felt a pang in her chest as she looked at her smiling, her fist clenching as if wanting to destroy her every reason to smile. “ She's here,” Laera said smiling, causing Eloise to look at her, “ Did you know she'd be here?” She asked her, “ Not really, but I told her you work here, she said she's been unable to reach you,” Laera replied, “ I'll go get the trouser, you two should catch up.” With that, Laera waved at Tamara before walking away. Eloise bit the inside of her lower lip, her eyes looking away from Tamara as her legs battled for freedom to move. She heard some hastened steps and the next minute, Tamara was wrapping her arms around her shoulder, pulling her into a tight hug. Eloise's body tensed, like a snake coiling around her. “ Elly,” She called softly, “ I was so worried about you.” The genuineness in her voice made Eloise scoff, and she slowly clenched her fist. Ta

Steam curled in the air as hot water cascaded down her back, each drop striking the curve of her spine like a rhythmic whisper. Eloise stood still beneath the showerhead, arms resting limply at her sides, head tilted slightly forward. The warmth should have soothed her, but her mind was far from present. The rest of the visit at the grandmother's house went peacefully, with her avoiding Antonio who barely says a word to her since then. She doesn't know if she should be grateful for that or if she should be wary of him. They had left without meeting his brother, who, to Ruby's expectations, was out of the country, somewhere, partying. ‘ Why?’ Eloise muttered under the shower. Thoughts spiraled through her like smoke, restless, uncontainable. She couldn't shake it off. For the first night since she came back in time, she had a peaceful sleep. She knew she had a nightmare that night, but could barely remember what it was, the peaceful feeling afterward had washed away the usual fear an
