A sudden double knock on the door. And another a few seconds later.
It’s only been a few minutes since Garrett and I went silent after he gave me the contents of the book he was reading from which we most likely have deciphered the meaning to already. And because of that, the incoming knock felt like it was linked to the revelation.
Exchanging a look with Garrett when the knock comes in for the third time, I realize it could be for someone else, especially when Garrett looks at me weirdly.

I burst the doors open, and the first sight I catch is that of two lifeless bodies on the ground. They looked like that of the guards I had seen when I had arrived here hidden in Garrett’s car. But what I know is that their being down was not my doing.
