Hello, Wolf

I am sitting upright on the bed waiting with bated breath to hear what the nurse has to say to me. I want to know the problem she is talking about. Am I sick? Do I have a tumor and I’m going to die?

“So, we have done an extensive search on your fingerprints and DNA and have nothing in the system for you. It’s like you don’t exist,” The nurse explains.

“That’s because I only moved here a few weeks ago,” I reply to her.

“Ah…” She studies the binder in her hand and bites a lower lip. “That explains that.” She makes a sound with her tongue and teeth.

“I feel like you’re not telling me everything. Is everything okay?” Her eyes meet mine, and she exhales deeply.

“You’re not one of us, you’re a she-wolf,” She spits out, and I let out a sigh of relief. Gosh, I thought it was something worse. “ Which also explains the reason why your test results are way off the charts.”

I chuckle at how serious her face is, but again, I have no right to because my people and her people are not exactly
