She must be mad

Walking into the living room, he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He looked at the caller ID and heaved a sigh of relief.

"Jas," he called grumpily with the phone in his right ear.

"Man, what's up with you?" A cheerful male voice sounded from the phone.

He licked his lips as he walked to the bar to grab a bottle of whiskey.

"Some bitches wanna frustrate me tonight," he said, walking to the black couch in the living room.

"You've started with these hook-up babes again," he said from the phone and they both laughed.

"Man, this is different. One of these bitches ran into me on my way from Lucy's house. We almost had a fatal accident. Thankfully, it was averted and I rescued her from her car. She requested to go home with me," he said and took a sip from his drink.

"Ehen," Jason said with interest.

"I took her home hoping for us to do the normal, but she's here bossing me around my house," he related.

There was a loud outburst of laughter from the phone and his brows gathered deeply.

"What's funny?" He asked angrily.

"You just won't stop. Man, you don't even know this girl. What if she's a witch or something?" Jason's voice sounded from the phone.

"I'm a wizard, so I'm not afraid of witches. She ordered me out of my room," he said and another outburst of laughter followed.

"You think every girl is cheap, right? Please stop fooling around. You helped her and you want to take advantage of her? Please let the girl be," Jason advised.

He kept silent and scratched his eyebrows.

"I'm not doing anything with her. First thing tomorrow, I want her out of my house," he said.

"Chill, man. Pray she doesn't turn into a snake at midnight," he teased.

"I like snakes," he said and they both laughed.

As soon as the call ended, he dropped his drink on the table and yawned tiredly. He looked at his wristwatch and it was past eleven already. He needed to catch some sleep and he wondered what the bitch was still doing in his room.

Walking into the bedroom, he found her sleeping peacefully on the bed with the duvet shielding her body. He stopped for a moment with his brows gathered deeply and his eyes piercing at her body on the bed.

He shook his head in disbelief and walked to the bed angrily. He pulled the duvet away from her body and she yawned and stretched tiredly.

"What are you doing?" She asked with her mean eyes looking intently at his indignant face.

"I should be asking you that! What are you doing in my bed?!" He snapped.

"Really? I'm sleeping as you can see. Look, it's dark and I've had enough for tonight, okay. Let me sleep and tomorrow, I'll be gone," she said tiredly as she laid her head back on the pillow.

"Seriously? You've had enough for tonight?! And my bedroom should be your resting place?!" He barked with his eyes popping out.

"And if you don't want me in your bedroom, why did you bring me here in the first place? Oh, I forgot, to smash me," she said with a smirk, rolling her eyeballs.

"What!!" He barked.

She didn't respond and he watched her drag the duvet over her body again. He pulled the duvet out of her body and she sat up right immediately.

"What the heck is wrong with you?!" She cried in frustration.

"This is my room and I'm spending the night here. You said I was a bad boy and I want to smash you and of course, I would smash you if we spent the night together here in my room," he said in a flirtatious manner that irked her so much.

"What the hell?!" She asked, looking alarmed.

"If you don't get out, by the time I come out of the shower, you're getting laid tonight," he said, moving away from the bed.

"You stink and you should better go get your shower!" She yelled after him.

He stopped and gritted his teeth as he turned slowly to look at her. Without a word, he walked into the bathroom.

She heaved a sigh and laid back on the bed. What has she gotten herself into? She thought as she tried to catch her breath.

Not long after, he stepped out of the bathroom with a white towel tied around his waist. Her eyes opened slowly to steal a glance at him and her heart skipped as her eyes fell on his smooth six pack abs and his bulging biceps staring right in her face.

She watched him walk to the mirror shelf and she couldn't help but drool over his smooth light brown skin which she had always loved in men. He had a great body physique which captured her attention and her eyes didn't leave him for a second as he applied lotion on his skin. For a moment, she wished he could loosen the towel around his waist so she could have a perfect view.

She sighed and looked away as the thoughts of Kelvin's betrayal surged through her head. She swallowed hard and turned to the other side of the bed. Hopefully, he hadn't caught her staring.

But what would he do with her tonight? Get her laid as he had threatened? She thought.

No, that's never gonna happen. There is no way she would let him take advantage of her tonight, she convinced herself as she pushed the strand of hair lying on her face.

Dressed in his blue pajamas, he walked over to the bed and he stood beside the bed watching her sleep peacefully.

Maybe she was right, she's had enough for tonight and he should just let her be, he thought. He heaved a sigh and shook his head before walking out of the room.

Hearing the sound of the door shuting behind her, she opened her eyes and heaved a sigh. She knew he was gone and she was glad he didn't perturb her any further. But somehow, his sexy body kept appearing in her head and she somehow wanted him tonight.

"Damn! He's a stranger!" She said to herself as a smile appeared on her lips. She yawned tiredly and shut her eyes peacefully.

*

Waking up the next morning, she looked around the room and let out a slight groan. This isn't home and the memories of last night flooded her head. She looked at the other side of the bed where her phone was lying and she sighed.

She had switched off her phone all through the night to avoid calls from Kelvin. Should she call Alex? She thought.

No, it's no use. She needed space right now, she thought as she sat up right on the bed. Her thoughts flashed to the stranger guy who had rescued her that night and her eyes raced around the room immediately. She smiled as she caught sight of his handsome portrait hung on the wall. No doubt, he was unruly handsome, she thought as she recalled their brawls from last night.

What is he up to? She thought while wrapping her messy black hair in a bun. Just then, the door opened and she swallowed hard as she saw him walking into the room, holding a tray of food which she assumed to be breakfast.

Her eyes lit up with excitement which she tried so hard to control. Oh, he's so sweet, she said to herself as she watched him walk into the room with the tray.

"Good..good morning," she blurted immediately.

"Morning," he answered grumpily and walked to the couch beside the bed.

She watched in silence as he sat on the couch and placed the tray on a stool. Her excitement dissapeared as she saw him picking a toasted bread from the tray which he began to munch.

"Um..I..I thought that was actually meant for me?" She asked in surprise.

He scoffed and stopped munching his bread as his eyes trailed to her face.

"I don't get it. What were you thinking? That I'm those romantic male characters you read in your romace novels?" He asked with a scoff.

"I..wait, you .you didn't make breakfast for me?!" She snapped, getting up from the bed.

"As what? Your boyfriend? Your husband, or probably your father?!" He shot in a rather high tone.

She stood up and her heart began to race with her eyes staring angrily at his face. The food was so appetizing and the aroma filled her nostrils that she couldn't help but salivate.

"And why did you bring the food here, uh? To make me salivate? To annoy me?" She asked angrily.

"I can give you the grace of going into my kitchen to prepare your breakfast before you leave. That's if you even know how to prepare one," he said with a smirk as he continued munching his bread.

"Oh, so yummy," he added while nodding his head in pleasure.

Her cheeks burned red and her face turned pale as she watched him eat. She surged towards him immediately and grabbed the bread and mug of tea from the tray.

"Wha..wha..what are you doing?!" He fired as he stood up angrily while she ran away from him.

"Eating your food," she said while eating the bread hungrily and sipping the tea.

"My food?! You're insane!" He yelled.

"Oh, yes, I've always been insane," she said with a chuckle that flared him up.

"You have to leave! I can't stand this madness around my house any longer!" He cried and walked out of the room while her laughter followed after him.

"She must be mad," he said as he walked angrily into the kitchen.

"Oh, what have I gotten myself into? I need to get rid of this girl!" He lamented as he turned on the stove angrily.

He was busy preparing sandwich when he heard her footsteps behind him. He turned swiftly and saw her standing proudly with her arms akimbo as she watched him with a smile on her pretty long enchanting face.

His heart skipped and he looked away Immediately. He heard her walking closer to him and his heartbeat increased.

"What are you doing here? You're supposed to be out," he said grumpily.

"I love men that cooks, my father is a good cook," she said with a smile as she watched him slicing the salad.

"Spare me your family story and get out of my house," he said grumpily.

"Why are you so rude to me? Because I didn't let you smash me last night?" She asked with a chuckle.

He scoffed and shook his head angrily.

"Teach me how to cook," she said, walking closer to his side.

He felt his heart skip as she touched his hand which was holding the knife. Her skin was as soft as snow and he swallowed hard as he inhaled the perfect scent from her body which was closer to his.

"You said you would leave in the morning," he reminded and she shrugged and pulled away from him slowly.

"I..I will leave," she said, rolling her eyeballs.

The truth is that, she wanted to stay a little longer and she doesn't know why he was persistent of her leaving. No man would ever turn a woman as beautiful and captivating as she is away from his home.

"When are you leaving? I'll be going to work soon and I can't leave you here," he lied.

"It's weekend," she reminded and he looked away slowly.

She laughed so loud and he heaved a sigh as he saw her laughing. Her laughter was mesmerizing and she was indeed a beauty.

"Okay, teach me how to cook before I leave," she said, positioning herself in front of the cabinet.

"You must be a spoilt brat," he said as he continued with his salad.

"I didn't ask for an insult," she corrected as she grabbed the knife from him.

He scoffed and watched her struggling to hold the knife.

"Those artificial nails wouldn't let you," he said with a smile.

"None of your business," she said as she began to slice the cabbage in huge chunks.

"What! Give me that!" He yelled and tried to grab hold of the knife.

She struggled to hold it back and they both began to struggle until he overpowered her and grabbed the knife away from her.

"You're so stubborn!" He yelled as he saw her panting heavily in front of him.

"I was doing it right!" She argued.

"Look, I don't want you here. Don't even try to play with me. I don't like you and I don't want you here in my house," he said and her shoulders dropped with her round eyes looking at him sadly.

"What?!" He barked as he saw the pity look on her face.

Just then, his phone rang and he grabbed it quickly.

"Mama," he called.

"Nosa, I didn't hear from you last night!" She panicked from the phone.

"Oh..um..mama, I'm.. I'm fine," he stammered.

"I thought something bad must have happened to you and so I came to Lagos," she revealed.

Silence fell in and his mouth dropped open in shock.

"Mama, you're in where?!" He asked, a little alarmed.

"I'm in Lagos and in front of your gate as we speak. Come and carry my bags!" She shouted from the phone.

His shoulders dropped and his eyes narrowed to the lady standing in front of him, listening to their conversation.

He hung up immediately and grabbed hold of her arms violently.

"What!" She wince as he shoved her slightly.

"Right now, I want you to go up to that room, lock yourself and don't ever come out until I say so!" He yelled in her face.

"Why? You don't want me to meet your mother?" She cried.

"Shut up! Go upstairs, now!" He barked and pushed her out of the kitchen immediately.
