The Game

He watched as she stepped out of the car elegantly and he hurried out of the doorpost to meet her.

He could notice her sad demeanor and he wondered what was wrong. She spoke a few words to the bodyguards and they stepped into the car and drove away.

Was she planning to spend the night? He thought with his eyes looking at her weary face.

"Hi," she greeted weakly, walking past him to the door.

"Hey," he called and walked behind her to the house.

They walked into the house and she proceeded to the couch to take her seat.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, walking to the couch.

"I'm sorry for the inconveniences," she said without looking at his face.

"Oh, it's.. it's fine. Um, I was at work when you called and I decided to come home early because of you," he said, taking his seat beside her.

"What's up with you? You look moody," he said with concern.

"I caught them at the salon. I mean, he accompanied her to the salon to get her hairdo," she related with tears clouding her eyes.
