CHAPTER FIVE

I was irritated as I walked the halls of the palace to my quarters. Visibly I appeared to be unapproachable and childishly thinking but everything in my head was other than petty things.

I had wasted five years planning to have myself as the bride of his highness ever since father had mentioned Hildagard's marriage and suddenly when I have the crown an arm stretch from me, I have lost it to a homosexual crowned prince.

I wasn't opposed to the thought of loving one of the same gender especially after having a sexual affair with Gwen as a parting gift but the idiocy to hold on to a lover and still hold the throne while being the submissive of the relationship disgusted me.

I had gotten closer to August in just a day and it wasn't much work to realize he was no king. He had no kingship in him not because he was in love but because he was too much of a child to have his hand stained in blood for a kingdom he would rule.

He enjoyed to be controlled than control and the day he is coronated and my father is made his advisor, he would be nothing but clay and father will checkmate me.

There were so many ways I could rid him but for now, I wanted to observe, I wanted to find the quickest way to having that seat without staining more dirty blood. I needed to be wiser, observant, vigilant and sweet tongued to sit where I am destined to seat on.

The night is still young for action so I remain to play in the fields while the sun still shines because I fear everything will burn to the ground.

I sat in the dinning hall with the royal family as well as mine as we ate meal with conversations flying on the table. It wasn't a decent habit but before the king, manner's didn't matter if permitted especially if it is one he has his eyes on.

I will rid of him if he dares think I will let myself be subdued by a fat pig and a greedy man who I call father.

"What do you do to your hair to have it as soft as this?" August asked as his hands went into my wild locks as I blushed.

"What do you do to make your skin as shiny as well?" I asked as he scoffed.

My eyeballs to my right as I stared at Arthur who stayed at August that had a spoon to my mouth with a scowl on his face. He looked grieved, pained as he watched his brother pamper like his bride which I am.

"Please excuse me." Arthur said as he stood up and left while I watched him.

"Excuse me as well your majesty, August, my family." I requested before I moved back and quickly chased after Prince Arthur whose action bothered me.

I quickly caught up as I held his hand, pausing his movement as his head whipped to see a young red hair stop him.

I released Arthur's hand as he stopped and slowly turned to gaze my smaller figure.

I wasn't small for my age, I was five foot seven which is impressive for a lot of women my age as some don't even see five foot five by eighteen summer.

"Is there anything I can do for you...Callisto?" He asked as I shook at the tenor of his voice.

It was smooth and easy but had a driving force inside it that just had you mindlessly submitting to him like a sailor enchanted by a siren's voice in the sea.

"Nothing Prince Arthur, I just felt uncomfortable staying in the presence of indecisive adults." I said as he scoffed in disbelief.

"I expected a young woman to constantly be around her fiance, getting the attention she deserves like our dinner table." He said and I could trace a little bit of envy as my eyes throbbed strangely.

"Unfortunately, I am not one to beg for attention. If August desires me, he should come for me and not the other way because I enjoy chasing after the finer things of life." I explained as Arthur took a step closer.

"And what finer thing would you be chasing?" Arthur asked as my small body pushed his body to the wall.

Arthur was surprised by an exposure of my action undefined to a lady as I gripped the collar of his shirt and pulled him down to my height.

"If you desire to know, till we meet again alone, my King." I whispered before I pushed him back to the wall.

He froze to the wall as his eyes stared intently at my lips before my finger brought his focused eyes to my eyes.

"It was nice finally speaking to you, your highness. Goodnight Prince Arthur." I said as I touched his solid chest.

I smiled softly as I felt Arthur's eyes behind me and in no doubt, he would desperately search for me again because we both desired something...passion.

After that day, two weeks I created as many occasions to prevent Arthur and I from being alone which proved effective. I was also close to August who suddenly picked up an interest in chess and requested I teach him how to study people.

"The human mind is a wonderful, fickle and unpredicatable universe that can never be comprehended like the soil we step on. We may not have much understanding of it but the little we know, we should be content or you could lose your sanity like I lost mine." I explained as I dropped my cup of tea on the table after a careful sip.

"I must delicate, the teas are most amazing. In heavens did you buy such a wonderful tea?" I asked as August smiled and moved his bishop to a terrible position just to cut off a queen whose role was already over.

"My sister Ariana brought it with her from her trip from Asia. She praises their tea product and enjoys praying to their idols as well in belief it 'makes the tea sweeter'." He stated as I moved my knight.

"I must praise her taste, elegant and rich like her charisma. I almost forgot to mentioned." I said with a smile on my face.

"I'm afraid I have an appointment I cannot fail to miss but please don't forget my parting words." I requested as he smiled.

"And they are?" He asked as I took my pawn and placed on the board.

"Checkmate. Your king dies." I said as I removed my hand for him to view the battle.

I picked up a ruler and had the white king fall to his face as I stared at his player who groaned in another smooth lose.

"I believe I should stop playing chess with my fianceé as she is showing me too much of my flaws." He said as I chuckled and threw my hair with a nice flick.

"Till next day your highness." I said politely as August sighed.

I guess it was finally time for me to once again converse with the royal prince of Arthur.

He has had more waiting than any waiting list can provide and it was nice to feel...desperately needed.

Prince Arthur was in the balcony of the palace as he stared at the little beings that walked on the surface of the earth.

I was silent with each step as I dawned closer to him but it seems Arthur sensed my presence and turned back at the sight of me.

"Are you finally here to give me answers to my questions?" Arthur asked as I walked beside him and faced the open space that revealed my country.

"Yes your majesty." I replied with a small curtsey.

"Arthur my lady." He said as he stretched his hand towards me which I accepted.

"Callisto...Arthur." I said as I shook his large, warm hands.

We stayed in comfortable silence then Arthur pointed at the fields.

"I played there a lot when I was a child. I had imagined myself to be a knight and serve my brother, August who will be king." He started as I smiled at him.

"Quite a dream for a young boy. Choosing to serve your brother must mean you cherish him dearly." I said as he laughed.

"August has always been the spirit prince of the palace. Father never cared about me, mother never gave me attention, Ariana was a nasty woman and August was the only one who remembered me so I guess it's more of gratitude than love." He explained better as he relaxed on the bars of the balcony.

"Quite frank are you? But mind not if I ask...Do you still feel the same front that time?" I asked as Arthur looked at me as I stared with a straight face into his eyes.

"What do you believe I feel?"

"About your dearest brother or about me?"

"About everything dear Callisto. You seem to have everything quite figured out."

"Not at all but my honest opinion will lead you straight to hell." I confessed as his muscles flexed and his left brown arched.

"Try me." He said as I faced the space before us.

"You are as loyal as they say you are. You are intelligent, arrogant, young with little battle experience and endowed. You are everything your brother can never be."

"And what is that?"

"A king. A true king that this country needs for change instead of a pig farm selfish and rich bastards come to flaunt their vanities upon vanities." I explained as I touched the bars of the balcony.

"And why do you believe myself to be a king?" He asked, his interest piqued at my language.

I stepped closer to him as I placed my hand on his lips, my face a few inches from his.

"You want me. Your entity lusts, your body bleeds for me and your soul cries for my love even though you know I can never be yours unless you are king. You despise the fact that a brother who is undeserving of a jewel has it while you work your arse like a faithful hound you will always be treated as. You also know that..." I brought my lips closer to his plump pink lips. "I desire you as and not a puppet and hypocrite for a husband and a king."

I moved away from his lips as he sighed with grief that I hadn't kissed him. I could tell he was aroused by my scent, my stature but he was more frustrated with my tease.

"What this kingdom wants is a puppet and even if my brother was no more crowned prince, power will still not be handed to me but my uncle." He said as I chuckled and placed my hands under my breasts.

"That is why you will need me. I am the only one who can help you." I said as I placed my hand on his chest slowly.

"And why are you willing to stain your pretty little hands with blood, cruelty and deceit for my sake?" He asked, his breath erratic as my hand went higher, touching his hard chest as I moaned softly of the feel.

"Because..." He brought his lips closer to mine. "I love you; my king." I replied with a seductive whisper.

Arthur ran his hand through my hair and pulled my lips to his to a breathless kiss so heated, so lustful and passionate.

His lips were softer than I imagined, sweeter and clean I felt myself dirty for touching such soft and innocent lips that had fallen under my charm.

Arthur was surely pitiful yet my desire to keep him to myself like a doll to a young child had me responding happily to the heat of his tongue as he explored the crevices of my mouth like knowledge to a scholar.

I moved away from Arthur as we both panted, grateful no one had seen the condemning scene as I took a few more steps away from Arthur.

"If you very much wish to explore more of me..." I exposed a bit of my shoulder to him. "Then tell me when you are ready to be king, my love."

"What makes you think I will go after the throne than let my brother have what is his birthright?" Arthur asked as he took one step closer.

I turned away from him and headed for the door that was my only exit before I stopped and slowly turned my head to Arthur.

"Don't ask me questions you already know the answer to Arthur. You shouldn't have kissed me because you'll only come back for more." I said as I touched my lips and smiled.

"Whenever you are ready, come and find the only one who is destined to rule by your side, Arthur." I said before I faced the door heading to my next destination.

The door shut as I touched my lips gently.

"So this is what it's like to taste a man's lip. Quite sensual and yet quite...strange."
