CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

The road to D'Akar was not a days journey as I and Darius rode together to his country home.

I was adamant know not going but Darius is very good at spiking my interest and instigating agreements in a passive person which is why I was riding with him.

"Your husband does not worry you go to another city especially with a stranger he has never met?" Darius asked as I chuckled.

"He does. However, I am far too independent and resilient to be docile and a good wife." I replied as he laughed.

"Then you must be a terrible mother." He said as I shook my head.

"I barely travel and I wasted most of my time raising my children. I am trying to train their mind to be independent from me or unnecessary attachment won't let them grow." I replied as I moved closer to Darius. "Also, I don't like being tied to one man especially when my heart isn't his."
