I stared at Galterio as he stared back at me. He was waiting to see my reaction after saying outright that he was going to kill my pup. He doesn’t know that I heard him say it earlier. But I still wasn’t expecting such an upfront admission. I kept my gaze firmly placed on his. But in the corners of my vision, I was searching for a way out. I kept coming back to the large floor to ceiling glass doors that led to the backyard. I couldn’t see beyond the doors, it was too dark outside. I have no idea what could be waiting for me out there if that’s the path I choose. But at this point, it is either through the glass doors to the backyard, or try my luck back through the house.
