WOUNDED AND HOPELESS

Vivian rubbed her eyes as she tried to pry open her eyes but they seemed to be glued together. She groaned and held her head. It throbbed like thousands of hammers were hitting her. She licked her lips trying to get some moisture back in her mouth that was drier than the sawdust.

“Ahhhh!!!” She screamed as she sat up. Her body ached all over as if she had been beaten and tortured.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to recall what had happened, She couldn’t remember being tortured she was only…

The memories flooded into her mind and so did the pain making her forget all her physical pain.

“Sandy! Sandilo! I need to talk to you!” She shouted at the top of her lungs. The tears cleared her eyes and she could finally open her eyes.

She blinked her eyes several times wondering if her eyes were open. It was pitch dark in the room. She could make out the faint silhouettes once her eyes adjusted to the darkness.
