I struggled to get out words from my mouth at the sudden appearance of Stan – and by the dirty gleam in Amber's eyes, I barely doubted that Stan's invitation here was all merely just a coincidence.

I would go out on a limb and say that Amber had planned all of this.

I could feel the anxious feeling forming knots in my stomach, but the feeling of Cameron's thumb rubbing soothing circles on the skin of my waist – through the flimsy material of my dress, sure did help calm my nerves.

"Oh, Stanley." I smiled at him sweetly, wiggling slightly so that Cameron's arm would rest firmly on my waist and would be purely on display. "Fancy meeting you here."

Stanley stammered, searching for words but ended up mumbling a rushed 'yeah'.

"So, you're Amber's date, hm? Sweet." I asked, sipping on my flute of non-alcoholic champagne to hide my smile that had blossomed at Amber's reaction to my calm demeanour.
