Joseph returned to the living room after comforting Yvette. He picked up the medical report from the table and lowered his head, seemingly lost in thought.

I stayed afloat calmly with no emotion left in my heart.

Nothing my brother did anymore surprised me.

His repeated favoritism toward Yvette had destroyed my love for him.

I only wanted to find a way to leave him and go find the nanny who truly loved me.

I failed to leave again and was pulled back to his side.

I realized he had opened my medical report. He had been standing at the dining table for a long time.

His face was extremely pale, and his body swayed as if he might collapse at any second.

"This is impossible. How can Wendy be this seriously ill? Why did no one tell me? No, that's not right. Every medical report I saw before was normal!" he exclaimed.
