Chapter 3

Samantha

I'm staring at myself in front of the mirror. There was no mark or sign that I am miserable in my marriage life. There was no mark or bruise in my body that could be use against my evil husband.

I sighed and put back my robe, the same time Dylan entered the room. He sat on the ottoman and stared at my face. I turned around to face him. I bore my eyes to him who keeps on staring at me for unknown reason.

He gestured me to come. “Come here, sweetheart.”

I did not move. My heart is pounding so hard while staring back at him. His stare is sending thrills down to my spine, but I couldn't look away, I can't take my stare off him as he looked so handsome with his business suit. If he just sat back and behave like that, no one will ever think that he's hiding a monster inside him.

I regret meeting him. If I could turn back the time, I will definitely do it and avoid the part where I met him.

His forehead creased. “Come here, sweetheart. Let me kiss you.”

I balled my fist and slowly walk towards him. He smiled and pulled me to sit on his lap. He hugged my waist and rested his face against my neck. “Hmm… You smell nice, sweetheart.”

I heaved a sigh, restraining myself from slapping his hand away from my body. I should act in favor to his command, so I can trick him in the end.

“The company is doing well, sweetheart. You don't have to worry about anything. You just have to do your duty as my wife.”

I pressed my lips together and looked at him. “Why don't you just let me go, Dylan?”

He smirked and fiercely shook his head. “That will never happen, sweetheart. I told you, I will play with your life until you lose your sanity. I will make your life miserable as a compensation for what your father did.”

I swallowed hard. I remember what he said. There's a possibility that we're siblings. I want to ask about it, but I couldn't even say the word sibling. Just thinking about it, after what happened to us, is already making me puke.

He bit my earlobe, making me flinched. “Don't worry, sweetheart, we're not related by blood.” he whispered and carried me in a bridal way. I tried to struggle from him, but he tightened his embrace on my body and threw me on the bed. He started taking his clothes off, making me squeezed my eyes closed. My nightmare is going to start again.

I KEEP on peaking at the window. I blew a loud breath when I saw Dylan finally leaving. I gripped my car's key and pressed my lips together. I need to go to the police station. I have to report my husband for hiding my brother.

I looked around the huge mansion. It used to be a lovely and lively mansion, but after my father's death and my brother's accident, it became dull and lifeless. Dylan kicked the maids out, and replaced the security guard in the main gate.

I swallowed hard. Thinking that the bodyguard that Dylan hired is not around, I opened the main door and was about to leave when a big man stood on my way while looking straight at my eyes.

I slowly shook my head, looking back at him. His blue eyes seemed to be penetrating my soul as he stared at my face.

I balled my fist. “Let me out!”

He shook his head. “Sir Dylan forbids you.”

I hit his chest, trying to intimidate him, but to no avail. He didn't even flinch after I hurt him. I gasped. “He's caging me and hurting me. Can't you see?!”

His eyes wandered around my face and to my arms. “There are no marks or bruises, miss.”

Miss. He called me miss. I don't know, but it sounds so great. Not being called Mrs. Davidson is somehow making my heart breath.

I lifted my chin. “Hurting doesn't only mean physical. Please let me leave.”

He shook his head. “I can't. I had an agreement with him.”

I tried to sneak. To push him. To trick him, but it's just not working. In the end, I dropped my body on the floor, against the door, and stared at the car keys in my hands.

How can I escape?

“Please, get up. Sir will scold me if he sees you like that.”

I clenched my jaw and glared at him. “If I die here, you will take the responsibility!”

He heaved a sigh and offered his hand to me. I stared at it, completely lost and defeated. If I accepted his hand, does it mean I'm giving my trust to this man. I looked down and pulled myself up. I lifted my body to stand again, by myself.

I stared at Jacob's blue eyes. There's no emotion in it, he's just staring at me without any pity, nothing at all. He's just like his boss, a monster.

I balled my fist. “I hate you!”

I turned my back to him and went back to the bedroom, totally defeated. Exhausted, I dropped my body on the bed and squeezed my eyes closed.

Unconsciously, I bore my eyes to the terrace. I swallowed hard and got off the bed. I opened the sliding glass door and stepped outside. I gripped the railing and looked at the ground as I heaved a sigh. It's too high. I will surely break my neck if I jump here.

I flinched when I heard the door swung open. I gasped as I looked at Jacob, who's holding the doorknob. His forehead creased, and my eyes widened when he started walking towards me.

“Stop!” I screamed, but he didn't budge. I stepped on the railing, trying to scare him away. “I'll jump here, I will really do it!”

He then stopped and took a deep breath. “Please, ma'am. Get away from there.”

I shook my head as I glared at him. He hissed and run to me, which made my eyes widened again. He quickly carried me by my waist and threw me on the bed.

“WHAT THE HELL!” I screamed and threw the pillow to him.

I glared at him. He just grimaced and closed the glass door. He rested his hands against his waist and looked at me. “I need money to save my mother in the hospital, so please, ma'am, I need you to cooperate. Your husband is offering me big money just to keep an eye on you.”

He left after saying that, leaving me stuffed with his words that stuck in my head. He's saving his mother, so he's taking away my chances to get my freedom.
