Samantha's POV

I can't move. I can't even lift a single finger. After I heard that gunshot, a deafening silence followed. Tears continued cascading down my cheeks as I covered my ears, afraid of another gunshot.

Did he… did he really kill himself? No! He must pay for his sins. He can't escape just like this. He can't!

"SAMANTHA!"

I jumped in shock as a series of bang on the door followed that familiar voice. That voice! Jacob! Am I dreaming? Is he really here?

"Samantha, baby, are you in there?"

I looked at the door and slowly crawled backwards. The door swung opened, revealing Jacob, whose eyes are dead worried. His sharp eyes immediately softened after he saw me.

"Jacob!" I cried his name as his warm embraced enveloped me. He hugged me tight. So, so tight and warm.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry for coming late, baby. I'm so sorry…" he whispered while kissing my hair.

My trembling hands reached his back and I hugged him tight. I cried in his chest. "You came! You saved me, Jacob!"
