“Ugh” Why is it baking in here! Waking up from my sleep drenched in sweat. I try to kick the covers off,but can barely move because everything is sticking to me.Making my covers heavier in weight. I can’t even sit up It’s like I’m routed in place It has to be around 100 degrees right now.You would’ve thought It’s a furnace in our room how hot it is.Walls probably peeling get it together Mena starting to hyperventilate but after my panic subsided I try to gather what’s going on I don’t smell any smoke or see flames so it can’t be a fire so what’s happening right now

It’s scorching at least that’s what my mom would say thinking to myself something must be wrong with the thermostat because it never gets this hot .It had to be broken but I don’t remember Dad saying anything about it but I swear it Almost feels like the room is on fire but still without the smoke and flames just heat ! I can barely breathe hyperventilating again I gotta get up n get some air

I know I left the window open so Shasta must’ve closed it before she went to bed. She always prefers the heat anyway Bringing my hands to my wet hair to run then through as much as I can putting it in a top bun feeling more frustrated now cause I know it was her.I really need my own room. I don’t know why I have to share a room with my younger sister Shasta. I’m really getting to old for this.Hell I’m almost grown now.And it’s not like we’re similar when it comes to sleeping I like it cold while she is hot natured and she sleeps wild But I also don’t remember a time we didn’t share a room either .It’s always been us together since we were little. We usually leave the window cracked but I know how she prefers the heat so I know she probably closed it.

I try to collect my thoughts but couldn’t get it together I was Feeling like somebody poured hot water on me. Touching my side Eww! I say feeling my clothes sticking to me like glue. I’m soaking wet and I hate sweating it makes me feel sticky and nasty. Why am I waking up like this again ?

I haven’t woken like this since my nightmares stopped and I know I wasn’t dreaming just now What is going on.my nightmares stopped like a month ago.Thank the goddess My dreams were so vivid so real before they stopped I was always jumping out my sleep feeling like I was back there back with them.So I would definitely remember if I was back to having nightmares.

I try to blink my eyes to adjust to the darkness but I only see darkness all the lights are off so instead I try to see the time still upset I’m sweating like this and then Shasta’s feet are coming in my face all of a sudden like she can’t feel me or feel herself move. Move your feet Shasta I say but she just groans ignoring me Now I know it must have been hot from both our body heat. She probably has rolled on my side the whole night I groan out loud

Why do I have to sleep with her she doesn’t know how to share a bed and always end up with some part of her on me.And she has her own bed but choose to sleep in mine.Dad calls her my shadow because she is always with me

Pushing her off I get up to to open the window letting a fresh breeze in. As the cool breeze flows into the room I take a deep breath inhaling the forest letting it calm my nerves now I finally look to see the time ,it’s 4:11 am and still dark outside .Guess I’ve had enough rest So I get up and start my day I can get ready for school after my run. school start’s at 7 and I wanna get a run in before everyone is up running to the bathroom. I try to run every morning and I need to leave early as possible . I hate being in a rush We have six bathrooms , two on each floor but I swear it’s not enough

I’m Mena’ by the way I just turned 18 today so it’s my birthday and I got my wolf a month ago right around the time my dreams stopped .Alpha and Beta pups get their wolves before their 18th birthday they can manifest as early as 15 but omegas have to wait until 18 and mated so Yay Me I couldn’t wait to get my wolf her name is Seaia. I love having my wolf she is magnificent all my senses are heightened now I can run faster and I have more energy than ever before I’m much stronger than I was before as well .Did I mention that she is also beautiful Light grey with a white under belly and a white streak down my back she almost looks white n silver Mom says I’m blessed by the Moon goddess because I have white fur and White fur means important roles and gifts not that I have seen anything yet I guess my gifts will come once I’m mated I wonder what gift I will have doe some have healing powers or control of elements like my Mom she can control water

Anyway I’m old enough not only to find my mate now because I’m 18 that’s the age a wolf is able to sense their mate Well I’m also finally able to leave home I plan to leave for college in August so I’ve been working overtime to graduate early . I can’t wait to get out and explore the world Even though I’m ahead in school I wanna relax my last few months here so it’s better to get all my work out the way now. I just have a few test left now

My parents are Alpha Gregory and Luna Lena They run the Southern Richmond Pack I have 6 siblings The twins Milo and Shanea are the oldest they’re 22 then it’s Darla she’s 20 and am the middle child then Shasta and Gray is 14 and last Pooh is 10. Milo will take over after Dad as Alpha and I know he is gonna do great He already has leader qualities and he is big on family all about the Pack life the whole pack lives here or on pack land in separate family houses but everyone is welcome at the Pack house so you can guess how my house is day and night ,Just chaotic but in a good way and I try my best to stay out the way. I just like peace and quiet sometimes

being around a lot of people who wouldn’t need space every now and then i mean I have a huge family and both my parents have 7 siblings a peace and they all live here on pack land too with their kids it’s never a dull moment in this house or in this Pack I go to get ready for my run so I can make it back in time to shower but can’t seem to find my shoes anywhere probably because one of my sisters wore them their always taking my stuff not that I don’t take theirs we share it’s a family thing so I decided to just let my wolf run either way I’m running this morning I have so much pint up these last few months I need a release.

I jog downstairs and out the back door headed for the tree line letting my legs just carry me while my stress melt’s away I love running since I got my wolf We can run for miles and we always do Coming to a field of flowers after a few miles I decided to lay here for a while smelling the flowers and just think about everything and I mean everything my life now what I wanna do for my future and how to secure that future while still getting my revenge for what happened to me about six months ago just to think about it this is probably the first time I really thought about what I wanted to do since the nightmares stopped it took so long to get out my own head I was reliving that day over and over until I decided I was gonna get pay back

I never told anyone else what happened that day other then my friend Tory and of course now Seaia I was out at a human party and got bored so I went to the lake it was my own fault for being off pack land I should have never put myself in that position being so far away if I was on pack land I know nothing like that would have happened

we’re not supposed to be off pack land under age 18 but I didn’t have my wolf yet and it was easy to sneak off back then with no smell guess I was a rebel so I use to go to the city where I meet a few friends Stacy and Lisa they are human I think they didn’t have a wolf smell but I’m not sure anyway I didn’t say much about myself and who I really was they just knew I live in a closed community and had strict parents we just used to hang out go shopping and go to parties I really like them Lisa was starting to become my closest friend until I stopped going into town after the incident

When I use to go to a lake just off of pack land it was so serene and I like doing homework there but because I couldn’t tell anyone where I was going any time I went I was alone

I won’t say anything but we will find them and make them pay she says and ok was my only reply she didn’t push we started talking about what happened and she had me take her back out there to see if she could pick up a scent but found nothing she didn’t recognize their smell so we decided to start hunting down the info we needed and I was just happy she was willing to help and keep my secret I never thought her of all people would help me she was one of the bullies in school and I was a target normally but she surprised me and come to find out someone had hurt her in the past as well

Tory is a year older than me and a grade above she used to date Milo for a while but they broke up before she turned 18 and she try’s to stay away from him I think she still have feelings for him I use to wonder why they broke up so I asked if it was behind what happened to her and she said yeah n after it happened she just didn’t trust so she backed away she still dated just outside the pack

I just bottled up what happened and kept it moving Tory was the only one I talked to and vice versa that made us become closer I really feel like she’s my brother mate and scared to find out I plan on getting them around each other to find out but Tory doesn’t let much slip past her

other then the dreams and my behavior lately no one even noticed anything was wrong but inside I was dying in darkness stuck in my own mind not knowing what to do afterwards I didn’t want to get in trouble for leaving pack lands My father would never let me leave his site again if he found out I felt as if I was spiraling out of control trying to keep it to myself but now I see the light A Red Burning light and all I want is blood every last one of them will pay And me and Tory will heal

I was lost in my thoughts when my phone rang and I look down at it It’s Tory I just smiled it’s the call I’ve been waiting on I’ll finally have all their information and my revenge can begin it’s time they pay I pick up hey Tory what’s up you got something for me Yep I don’t have much but I found out their names and I know they live near the lake I just don’t know what house yet we can go out there later if you want she says I was quite for a second thinking I really don’t want to go back out there but how will I get what I need if I don’t so I reply Yea that’s fine we can go later tonight after everyone is sleep I respond but now I’m worried what if this is a bad idea I don’t want her to get hurt because of me then I hear ok cool just call me when you ready we can head up there she says and then I hung up guess now I go to head home this day just got a little exciting and I can’t wait until tonight they just don’t know what’s coming their way after what happened I started taking all types of defensive classes and joined in pack training I use to skip it before feeling like I didn’t really need it until I did but now I’m a beast I’m trained in combat and weaponry. And I can’t wait to try out my skills

Once we pull up my sister says dad wants us to come to the office after dinner What can he want no something about a meeting in the morning I guess he wants you to prepare I go in the house so I can shower and do work until dinner is ready

We always eat as a family no matter how much stress my parents are under they always make time for us and I will do the same with my own family we chatted for a while and ate everything mom cooked she throws down we have steak chicken fried fish Mac n cheese green beans collards rice and cornbread we all loaded our plates and chatted over dinner then we ended dinner with my dad saying be in his office in 10 minutes and Mom adds she will bring dessert to the office sweet potato pie I love my Moms cooking no one can touch her in a kitchen but she isn’t just a cook she helps dad with everything pack and graceful standing at 5’7 Carmel completed hazel eyes and curly hair down her back Mom was beautiful and I love watching her and dad together I just hope one day to have what they do

I got home around 6 just in time for evening training with the pack so I hurry to get changed I put on a tink top and a some lose shorts then jog to the field about 20 people came for training I partnered up with Shasta and we talked while sparring by the time I left every muscle on my body was aching but I gotta say I love the rush

I went home to shower and get ready for dinner We cook as a family well all the women get in the kitchen and throw down being that we are wolves we eat a lot so of course it’s a feast we grill hogs have curry goat and all the fixings then we all gather to eat mom asks how or days were and we each took turns answering then she got to me well Mena it’s your birthday so I made your favorite sweet potato pie and strawberry shortcake for dessert what else would you like to do before your party this weekend I just wanna watch movies but mom can I have a glass of wine I asked shyly she just looked at me and smiled responding just one because it’s your birthday but don’t make it a habit of asking for you are to young to be drinking with her hand on her hip meaning business yes mamas I say and we all bust out laughing the night went by fast just sitting around with my family and good vibes
