"Have you given Celina my number yet?" I'm hanging on the door, watching Laura as she sighs at me. She is reading on Caleb's bed with puffy eyes, probably from having cried over him.

I feel bad for her.

Caleb will be locked up in the basement for a couple of days. He isn't the same until a week after the full moon.

Truthfully, he rarely ever came out of his office before. It changed when Laura moved in.

"How about you text Celina first?" Laura says without looking up from her book. She is on her stomach, kicking her legs to hint that she is irritated with me. "I texted her number to you."

I sigh, tapping my fingers against the door. "What do I even write to Celina?"

"Geez, I don't know. How about a fucking apology?"

I laugh.

I'm not sure why, but I like Caleb's mate. I can see us becoming good friends. Her honesty cracks me up. It's a refreshing wind, and Caleb needs a strong woman.
