Chapter Eighty-One

Shannon’s POV

Ms. Isabel walked towards me and patted my shoulder.

“You must fulfill the Moon Goddess's wishes and the pack’s as well. And who cares if life gives you lemons, make some damned lemon juice, sell it, and get whatever you want.”

The room was empty in a matter of minutes. It was just me, Aiden, and our dad who hadn’t muttered a word for a while now.

I could envision the wheels in his head spinning and I wondered what he was thinking about.

Being alone in a strange land and amongst wolves I’ve never interacted with was something that gave me the chills, I could easily be killed if I stepped on the wrong toes. Walking around on eggshells for the rest of my life didn’t sound like a good idea by a stretch of the imagination.

“I know you want the best for me. I do not doubt that in the slightest but this isn’t what I want for myself. I’ve stared into the eyes of the trio, Ms. Isabel. It’s cold and empty, it’s like they have no heart and they aren’t capable of love or feeling
