Before there was Selene, the goddess of werewolves, there was Hestia --the goddess of warmth and fire.

**Avery’s Pov

Most women say that when your husband is cheating on you, you will know immediately. But in my case, I didn’t find out until it was too late.

It was evening and my pack had just finished celebrating the end of a lunar eclipse in our house.

Everyone had been partying, and i watched with pride as my husband graced everyone with his beautiful smile and enchanting eyes.

It was the same smile that stole my heart 3 years ago and made it impossible to refuse when he asked me to marry him just a few weeks later.

Of course I was worried that we were rushing things plus there was the fact that i was a mere commoner with no noble blood, and to make matters worse..... I had a disability.

I couldn’t shift into my wolf form... and that was a big disgrace to werewolves.

But James didn’t care, he had sworn by the heavens and the earth that he was hopelessly in love with me, and he would do anything to have me as quickly as possible.

How could I say no to that? How could I say no to a handsome, powerful young Alpha who was humble enough to choose me— a weak, forgettable commoner as his mate?

I was nothing special at all. In fact, I wasn’t half as pretty or as powerful as all the noble women who were constantly throwing themselves at him. But James only had eyes for me. He loved me for me, and I loved him too.

We wedded immediately and it was the best day of my life. The only down side was that my beloved baby sister Lizzy who was studying abroad couldn’t make it to the wedding. I missed her dearly.

But besides that, everything was perfect. I married the love of my life, Alpha James.

The lunar eclipse celebration was coming to a close and James went upstairs to change while I stayed back to supervise the festivities for a while.

Logan, one of our youngest warriors approached me with a bow.

“Good evening Luna, Miss Elizabeth has been looking for you.” He announced.

I blinked twice. “Miss Elizabeth? Lizzy? My sister?”

“Yes Ma’am.”

I told him he was mistaken because lizzy was in school and wasn’t returning till next year.

But Logan was adamant. “I’m sure ma’am perhaps she was planning to surprise you.”

I couldn’t believe my ears! Lizzy was here? She had finally returned to me?!

My Lizzy was just 19, born of noble blood, and even though I was older than her with just 5 years, it felt like she was my baby, because I practically helped raise her.

“Where is she?!” I practically screeched at the poor boy who quickly pointed upstairs to my bedroom.

I rushed past him, taking the stairs three at a time. I would have flown if I could. That’s how badly I missed Lizzy.

I was practically panting when I finally got upstairs, and then I suddenly heard a strange noise that made me pause.

It was the sound of a woman Moaning.

I froze for a moment as my brain struggled to process what I was hearing. Was this a mistake? Was I at the right place?

I felt a sudden sharp burn on my neck, where mate’s mark was but I ignored it.

I slowly pushed the door open and I immediately regretted ever doing that.

Because in front of me, on my own bed, was my sister Lizzy, lying with her clothes ripped, and my husband lying shirtless between her legs.

He was hungrily kissing her neck while passionately grinding his hips against her.

I watched in horror as my sister continued to moan with closed eyes as she rubbed her hips against his. She was clawing his back and trying to pull off his pants, clearly eager for more.

I wanted to puke. I wanted to puke and die. This couldn’t be happening. This couldn’t be real!

The dizziness and the burning sensation came back with a vengeance and I slumped against the open door, making it slam the wall with a loud bang.

The sound shocked them and I watched James jump away from her like he had been burned with hot coal.

Lizzy quickly got up and scrambled to close her torn dress. But I thought I saw the hint of a smile on her lips.

“Avery…” James gasped but I held my hand up to shut him up. Tears were already pouring down my face as the reality of what I had just seen began to hit me.

“What the fuck James?! Why?! Why would you do this to me?” I cried.

“Avery.... baby, I can explain, it’s not what it looks like—-“ He said, trying to hold my hands but I shoved him away.

“It’s not what it looks like?! So I didn’t just catch you trying to fuck my own sister?! On our bed?!” I furiously wiped my tears away and glared at him.

James just bowed his head. There was shame and guilt written all over his face.

“I’m so sorry Avery… it wasn’t supposed to happen this way, please believe me. It wasn’t our fault.”

I barked out a dry laugh. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“It’s not your fault? So is it mine then? I didn’t see anyone forcing you with a knife to your neck so what the hell are you talking about James?!”

“Avery… Lizzy is… I and Lizzy are—“ James stammered.

“James and I are fated mates sister.” Lizzy’s finally spoke, coming to stand behind my husband. “Your husband is my fated mate.”

I felt my heart stop and my blood run cold. Mates? What was she talking about?

I looked at James in confusion and he slowly nodded. “It’s true Avery, your sister is my mate. She came here looking for you, and when I saw her, I just knew immediately. I tried to leave but my wolf overwhelmed me. I’m so sorry Avery.”

The dizziness got worse and I crashed painfully to the floor. What was happening? Was this some sort of cruel joke? I didn’t know, I couldn’t answer, my head was spinning too fast to think clearly.

“Avery." James moved forward like he wanted to pick me up but Lizzy grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

Seeing her hand on him made me finally burst into tears. This wasn’t a nightmare, this was really happening. My husband had found his fated mate, and she was my baby sister.

I tried to force the tears away and collect myself. I couldn’t sit crying on the floor, I was the fucking Luna of the spring pack for heaven’s sake!

I wiped my tears away and slowly got up to my feet, then I looked at James dead in the eyes.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Reject her.” I said coldly.

  • A Luna of fire   Avery calls Jakes

Avery's POV When we stepped back into the courtroom, all eyes turned toward us. The room was still filled with tension, but there was also an air of anticipation. Everyone was waiting to see what would happen next.Us vs Gerald, who would win? Kane didn’t waste any time. He squared his shoulders, exuding confidence as he addressed the council. “As I have said before, Someone is trying to frame me for the attack on the Spring Pack,” he declared, his voice strong and authoritative. “And I will like to remind you all that attacking the Alpha in any way, shape or form is an act of treason, and the punishment for treason is death.” Lord Gerald scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “Are you trying to scare us off with the threat of treason? Or perhaps you’re just lying to save your own skin.” Kane’s jaw clenched, and I could see the anger simmering just beneath the surface. Before he could respond, I reached out and touched his arm, calming him with a gentle squeeze. “The A

Avery’s POVEven after Stepping out of the courtroom, I could feel the tension still hanging in the air. That goddamn Gerald was a fucking menace! He had put his mind on getting rid of Kane for good and he was now relentlessly looking for any way to accomplish his selfish goals. It made me furious! My heart was racing from the heated exchange inside, but I had no time to dwell on it as Kane pulled me closer. His hand was firm on my back, grounding me in the moment. I could see the fire in his eyes, not from anger but something else—pride. "You were so incredible in there my love," Kane said, his voice thick with an emotion that always made me weak in the knee s. "The way you defended me... I've never seen you so fierce, so... furious." He chuckled softly, almost in disbelief, and the sound melted some of the tension in my chest. I couldn’t help but smile at him as my own heart started swelling with pride at his words. “Well, I wasn’t going to let Gerald accuse you of something yo

Author’s note: Hii, thank you so much for reading so far, I’ll really love to continue this book and extend it, but that’ll only happen if you leave a comment asking me to extend it. Avery’s POV “What happens if they do?” I asked, but my voice was barely above a whisper. Kane hesitated for a moment before answering, “Dethronement.” And in that moment, I could see that his eyes were filled with a look of utter dread and resignation. The word hung in the air between us, heavy and ominous. If he was found guilty, Kane would lose everything—his title, his people, his entire life. My chest tightened with fear at the thought. I couldn’t let that happen to him “No,” I said firmly, shaking my head. “That’s not going to happen. We’ll fight this, Kane and we'll win. We'll find which ever asshole is behind this, and we'll end THEM. Trust me on this Kane." I begged. He looked at me, his dark eyes searching mine for reassurance. “I love my people yes, but I don't care about losi

Avery’s POV He stepped back to admire his handiwork, his eyes raking over me with a predatory hunger that made my breath hitch. I pulled experimentally at the restraints, but they held firm. I was at his mercy now, and the realization sent a wave of heat straight to my core. “Comfortable?” he asked, his tone mocking as he moved back toward the bed. I gave him a defiant look. “You’re enjoying this too much.” “And you’re enjoying pretending you’re not,” he shot back, climbing onto the bed and positioning himself above me. His hands roamed over my body, lingering on the places he knew drove me crazy, teasing me with just the right amount of pressure to make me squirm. “Maybe I am,” I admitted, my voice breathy as I felt his hands slide lower. “But that doesn’t mean I’m going to make it easy for you.” Kane’s eyes darkened with desire as he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against mine. “Oh, I don’t want easy. I want to see you break my Nuri.” His words sent a delici

Avery’s POV I woke up to Kane’s soft kisses brushing over my skin, gentle and warm, sending shivers down my spine. His lips moved slowly, from my shoulder to my neck, trailing up to my jawline, each kiss making my heart race. A smile crept onto my face before I even opened my eyes, the sensation filling me with a giddy excitement, like we had just discovered our love for the first time. “Kane…” I murmured sleepily, turning to face him. The sight of him, his dark eyes filled with warmth and affection, made me catch my breath. My twin flame. The other half of my soul. It was still hard to believe that the goddess had united us in this way, that our bond went so much deeper than I had ever imagined. “Morning, love,” he whispered, his voice low and husky. “I couldn’t help myself. You were just too tempting.” I laughed softly, brushing my fingers through his hair. “You’re the tempting one.” His gaze grew more intense, and for a moment, I was lost in it, in him. I could feel t

  • A Luna of fire   An attack

Kane's POV I couldn’t stop staring at her. Avery. My mate, my Luna, my other half. The idea of twin flames—the two of us being split pieces of the same soul—had taken root in my mind, and now, it was all I could think about. It explained so much: the way my body responded to her, the way my heart had been drawn to her from the very beginning, and the way every single touch of her hand sent warmth coursing through my veins. Her eyes, those brilliant pools of emotion and life, found mine and held them. “Kane…” Her voice was a soft whisper, full of vulnerability and desire. I reached out, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “Avery,” I murmured, my fingers lingering on her skin. “You’re everything to me.” Her lips curved into a small smile, and I felt my chest tighten with the love I had for her. Knowing that she was my twin flame made everything feel even more intense—like the bond between us had grown stronger, more powerful, more unbreakable. I leaned in, pre

Kane’s POV As I stood in the grand hall, watching Avery make her entrance, I couldn’t help but feel immense pride. She was breathtaking, draped in an elegant gown that shimmered under the lights. Her presence commanded the attention of everyone in the room, and I knew that choosing her as my queen was the best decision I’d ever made. When I announced our engagement, the pride I felt was overwhelming. Most of the pack had reacted with awe and admiration for her. Though I noticed a few disapproving glances, they were drowned out by the applause and the stream of congratulations. My chest swelled with satisfaction. Avery wasn’t just my choice; she was proving herself to be the people’s choice as well. And why wouldn’t they see her value? She was intelligent, compassionate, and stronger than most could imagine. She’d already done so much for the northern lands. From the moment she stepped up to help with the blight, the people saw her not just as their future Luna but as a beacon

  • A Luna of fire   In Dorian’s mind

Dorian’s POV I rolled my eyes as I glanced out the window. Outside, a group of women were gathered in the garden, chattering away, fluttering around my estate as if they were the mistresses of the house. They were dressed in their finest, giggling and casting glances toward my home, hoping I'd notice them. I didn’t.I ignored their attempts to get my attention because they were nothing more than pawns. The only reason I kept them around was because their families were powerful. Greedy nobles, all of them, hungry for status and favor. If I let them believe that, when I became king, I might marry one of their daughters, then they’d remain loyal. And I needed their loyalty, even if it was built on lies. But that wasn’t going to happen. Marriage? To one of them? No. I only wanted one woman. The woman who had consumed my every thought, every breath, since the day I laid eyes on her.Avery.She was the reason I was willing to start this war. Yes, there were other reasons. Things I h

Avery’s POV Katherine smiled knowingly. “Don’t you know yet? You’re pregnant.” She revealed.Brianne gasped and her hand flew to her mouth. “What? How do you know?”Yea I thought, because I and Marie were itching to know too.Katherine chuckled softly. “As a Luna, I have helped dozens of women give birth, dear. I know the signs. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed it yourself.”Brianne looked at us, panic and disbelief in her eyes. “I… I need to take a test. I need to be sure.” I nodded immediately “Let’s do it now,” Marie suggested, her voice calm but excited. “We’ll all wait with you.”We followed Brianne to her room, where she shakily took the test. The minutes seemed to drag on forever as we waited. Finally, Marie checked the result and broke into a huge grin.“Brianne… you’re pregnant!”The room erupted in laughter, tears, and congratulations. Brianne burst into tears, she clearly felt both joy and fear in that moment.“I always wanted children,” she sobbed. “But Ron… h
