Ezekiel’s POV

"Make sure the halls are ready before tomorrow morning!" I yelled, my voice reaching across the room to the guard at the door. My pen scraped across the paper as I signed another letter, the tip pushing harder than required. My mood was already ruffled, and it wasn’t yet midday.

Five days. That’s all I had left before the feast for my successor, Auren. It had taken weeks of debates and careful preparation to get Kailey to agree to this. She was careful, protective—traits I liked about her, but this time, they had drove me nuts.

“I want these letters sent today,” I stated forcefully to the messenger standing a few feet away. “Every Alpha in the neighboring packs needs to receive this invitation. No delays. Do you comprehend me?”

“Yes, Alpha,” he said, bowing slightly before departing the room.

I breathed, sitting back in my chair, attempting to push down the weight pushing on my chest. This feast wasn’t just about Auren. It was about demonstrating something to everyon

Kailey’s POVI stood in front of the mirror, barely recognizing the lady looking back at me. The dress stuck exactly to my figure, the soft silver fabric sparkling in the light like moonlight on water. It was a vision—elegant, royal. A queen’s outfit. My heart swelled with pride and joy as I turned slightly, the flowing train swishing gently behind me. Today was the day. The day Ezekiel would present Auren as his replacement to the pack and all the nearby Alphas. It was the moment I had fought for, dreamed of, even in the darkest times when hope seemed like a faraway star. Finally, I would stand beside my mate, and Auren would be known as the true child. I couldn’t help but smile at my picture, feeling a warmth grow in my chest.“Do you like it, my lady?” the girl asked tentatively, her words pulling me from my thoughts. She stood a few steps behind me, her hands clasped nervously in front of her apron. I turned to her, my smile widening. “Like it? I love it! You did a great job. This

Kailey’s POVI stood there, the weight of the room’s energy sinking into my chest as I made the news. Seeing Auren stand tall, facing everyone with that immovable determination, filled me with a joy so deep I could hardly control it. Nothing—nothing—felt sweeter than this moment. My son, my heir, the next Alpha. And Kailey… she stood beside me, oozing power and grace. My mate. My love. My everything. For a second, I allowed myself to remember the long months they spent in hiding. The thought of what could have happened out there in the woods, the risks they faced… it sent a chill down my spine. But I had them back. I had fought for them, and now they were here, safe, and in their proper place. I swore to myself that I would step up as a father, as an Alpha, as someone Auren could look up to.“Ezekiel!” A soft voice broke through my thoughts, and a gentle tap on my arm brought me back to the present.“Yes?” I turned to find Kailey, her warm brown eyes twinkling with amusement. She held

Kailey’s POVWhile the feast was still going on, a group of people walked up to where Ezekiel and I were sitting. "Greetings, Alpha," a woman from the group spoke, bowing her head slightly. The moment my eyes landed on her, my blood ran cold. My whole body stiffened. Memories—long-buried and unwanted—flooded back so fast they nearly knocked the breath out of me. This was my aunt. The woman who had raised me from childhood. The woman who should have been my guardian, my family. But when Ezekiel’s father banished me all those years ago, she turned her back on me. No letters, no words, not even a single look of sorrow. Just… nothing. And now, she had the nerve to stand here, claiming she didn’t know me? My hands clenched into fists on my lap. I wanted to spring at her, to choke her until she felt every ounce of the pain she had put me through. But this was a feast. Eyes were everywhere. I had to keep my cool. I had to swallow the storm raging inside me. But no matter how hard I tried

I said, putting my hand on my head.I could feel all eyes on me, burning into my skin like hot iron. The weight of their stares made my chest tighten. I had completely lost control. My anger had spilled out for everyone to see, and now, I had given them all something to talk about.Ezekiel shifted beside me, his look heavy. “Kailey, take a deep breath.”I waved him off. “Don’t, Ezekiel. Don’t tell me to breathe, don’t tell me to calm down, and don’t tell me I overreacted.”“That’s not what I was going to say,” he said strongly. “I was going to ask if you’re okay.”I scoffed. “Okay? I just found out my past came knocking on my door, in the middle of a feast no less, and you think I’m okay?”Ezekiel rubbed his jaw but said nothing. I knew he was trying to be gentle with me, but right now, I didn’t have it in me to understand

Kailey’s POVWe all returned to the hall where everyone was. I was not myself. My blood boiled, my hands clenched at my sides. My eyes found Cecilia even as she was smiling, greeting all the guests like she hadn’t just flipped my world upside down.I wanted to grab her by the throat and squeeze until she stopped breathing. I wanted to see the panic in her eyes the way she made me panic all these years. But I couldn’t. Not here. Not now. It would cause more problems than it would solve.A light touch on my back made me tense. I spun around, my body still on edge.Mage Elyra.I blinked. “Wow… you came.”She smiled, her eyes warm but knowing. “Yeah, sure I did. I wouldn’t miss this. After I was done with what I was doing in the woods, I said let me rush down here.”I nodded, my eyes flickering back to Cecilia. “That’s nice. I’m happy you’re here.”Elyra followed my gaze, her expression turning serious. “Where is Aurene?”“He’s in his room,” I said. “He’s still getting prepared to be show

Tell me why you still stand beside her, knowing everything she’s done.”Ezekiel’s jaw clenched.Cecilia, for the first time, looked shaken. She wasn’t in control anymore. The room wasn’t following her plan.I watched it all, my heart racing. My boy. My brave, bold son.I had always wanted to shield him from this, but now, I saw it. He had his own fire. His own fight. And for the first time, Cecilia had nothing to say.Silence stretched. The whole hall held its breath. Then, Aurene took a step back. He sighed, shaking his head. “You can keep your fake words, Cecilia. Kailey’s POVI wanted to go and check on Ezekiel, but I didn’t dare. I knew right now he was really angry, so ignoring him felt like the best thing to do. Auren was in his room, and I told myself I’d go meet him instead. I guessed he was just frustrated—I know how much all this must weigh on him. As I walked down the hallway, I caught sight of Cecilia coming out of one of the rooms. She looked like she’d eaten something sour, her face all twisted and angry. Seeing her like that made a smile creep onto my face. I was so happy about what happened earlier that I couldn’t help myself. Cecilia turned, her sharp look locking onto mine. She noticed the grin on my face and stopped in her tracks, her eyes sharpening. “What’s funny?” she snapped, her voice cold and sharp. I crossed my arms, leaning slightly against the wall as I tilted my head at her. “What isn’t funny?” I said with a laugh. “You, Cecilia. You are the joke of the night. Is she your Luna or not?”He opened his mouth to respond but closed it again, his jaw tightening as he struggled to find the words. I shook my head, laughing bitterly.“That’s what I thought,” I said, my voice cold. “You can’t even make up your mind. And you want to come in here and yell at my son for speaking his truth? For standing up to that conniving bitch?”“Don’t call her that,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.“Why not?” I challenged, crossing my arms. “That’s exactly what she is. And you know it. You just don’t want to admit it because it’s easier to keep pretending everything is fine. Well, guess what, Ezekiel? It’s not fine. It’s never been fine. And your precious Cecilia? She

Auren’s pov. I walked slowly through a dark, quiet forest, it was nothing I could remember, totally different from that around the park house. I folded my arms around me, I have never felt this lonely. I grabbed around me, tall trees stood all around me, their branches reaching out like arms, it was a little scary, but James has always taught me to be brave, especially In times like this. According to James, that was what a true warrior would do. The ground was soft under my feet, covered in thick moss and fallen leaves, the coldness in the air was hard to not notice, everything felt strange, very strange, but still I continued walking, maybe I would see something. I didn’t know how I got here, that was one of the scary parts, I had no idea how I got here, what I could remember was that one second I was in bed, the next I was in this creepy forest.“Where am I?” I whispered. No one answered, just the wind rustling the leaves above me.I looked around, trying to remember how I c

Ezekiel's pov. The air was cool, calm as the sun was already beginning to set behind the trees, painting the sky with a soft orange and pink hue. Though the wind was gentle as it brushed the leaves, I let out a deep breath and leaned back against the thick trunk of the old oak tree just outside the park house, its branches stretched high above us, casting a wide shadow over the grass. My mind was a little occupied, occupied with thoughts of Auren, all that Kailey had reported to me the other still clouded my mind. How could Auren have powers? Though it was a little confusing, I felt like I would have to involve the shaman, probably there would be answers to these questions. James sat beside me, his hands folded, I had told him about the whole thing and he was just as shocked as I was.I sighed “I think I need to involve the shaman, what do you think?” James nodded “that won't be a bad idea”. “That way we would have answers to these unanswered questions,”I muttered. James nodde

James pov. In no time, We arrived at the forest. The trees were tall and close together. The ground was soft under our boots, covered with fallen leaves. Birds still chirped in the trees, but the deeper we went, the quieter it got.It didn’t take long before the air started to feel different. It was heavy. like the forest itself was watching us.We walked in a loose formation, eyes scanning everything around us. I kept my hand on the hilt of my sword, just in case.Jon moved beside me, whispering, “Feels strange, doesn’t it?”“Yeah,” I whispered back. “Too quiet.”We reached a small clearing where the sun broke through the trees. I knelt down and checked the ground. There were tracks, big ones, fresh and blood.“Kellan,” I called quietly. “Come look at this.”He came over and crouched beside me. His eyes narrowed as he studied the prints.“Wolves,” he said. “But not ours.”I nodded. “Rogues.”Of Course I knew it was rogue, but since when? We have made sure no rogues comes to this ar

James pov The morning sun was up in the sky. I could feel its warmness on my face as I walked across the compound of the pack house. The cool breeze rustled the trees around, and the sounds of birds filled the air. This was more like a perfect, peaceful morning. I tilted my head to look at Jon who walked beside me, he has his hands tucked into his pocket coupled with a relax smile on his face. Jon wasn't just a warrior under me anymore, with the few years we have spent together, our bond grew stronger, the friendship we shared grew. “It’s been a while since we had a quiet morning like this,” Jon said, glancing up at the clear blue sky.“Yeah,” I agreed, letting out a soft chuckle. “yeah, no trainings for today so yeah it was expected” Jon grinned. “that is true”We walked past the training ground, it was empty, however there were maids around, carrying out some cleaning. We paused, standing just by the edge of the training ground. Then I looked at Jon.“I haven’t told you the n

Ezekiel's pov. With the progress of the pack house, I decided to build an office, a personal space where I could take care of the happenings in the pack house, where some of the other wolves could report to me whenever there is a problem in the pack. The Pack house has expanded with time, five years was not a small time, it was enough time to develop the pack house and right now, I intend to add more development to it. As I sat behind the large wooden desk in my office, flipping through the reports scattered in front of me. The sunlight slipped through the blinds, casting long shadows across the room. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I leaned back in my chair.I had promised Auren I would be there for his training match this evening.I still remember how mad he had been yesterday when I didn't show up, I didn't want to see him that mad again. He had reminded me at breakfast, twice, and even made me pinky swear like he used to when he was younger. It was hard to sa

Kailey’s POV. It had been five years since the execution of Cecilia and the rogue leader, Damon.Five years since that terrible thing happened, more like a war or a conflict which almost took the peace of our home. Five years since I almost lost my son.I still remember everything like it was yesterday. I still remember all that happened in the forest, how I almost died searching for the relic, how I almost did trying to save the one I love, Ezekiel, how I almost died trying to rush back home to my son. But now, I'm glad, things were different. The pack house had been rebuilt. Bigger, Stronger, With tall stone walls, better guards, and thick wooden doors that could keep even the strongest rogue outside. Warriors patrolled the borders night and day, and peace had finally returned to the pack.I stood by the wide window in our chamber, looking out at the courtyard where the young wolves trained. I could hear their distant yells, the clash of wooden weapons, and the proud howls of

He was not my mate at this point, He was the Alpha, and today, he had to act like it. Cecilia stood before us, her hands chained, her beautiful hair messy and dirty now. Beside her, the captured rogues and Roy knelt on the ground, their heads lowered. The whole pack was gathered around, watching in silence. Ezekiel’s voice rang out strong and clear over the courtyard. “For treason against the pack, for working with our enemies, for trying to kill my son and destroy our home” he said, “I, Alpha Ezekiel, sentence Cecilia, Roy, and their allies to death.” There was no noise. No one cheered. This wasn’t a happy moment. It was a sad, painful necessity. Cecilia looked at him, he
