“What do you mean by Lucienne is poisoned? How is that possible?” I yelled over the phone but they couldn't give me a proper explanation. “Book my flight immediately. I'm coming home now.”

The urgency in my voice was intense as I demanded answers from my pack members over the phone. How could Lucienne be poisoned? And why hadn't anyone noticed sooner? My mind raced with a thousand questions, but there were no answers forthcoming.

Without waiting for a response, I instructed my business partners to handle the situation in my absence and apologized profusely for the abrupt departure. They were understanding, though concerned, and I promised to make it up to them once I returned.

As I rushed to the airport, my thoughts were consumed with worry for Lucienne. What had happened to her in my absence? Had someone deliberately harmed her? The mere thought filled me with a rage unlike any I had ever known.
