Chapter 20/ Part Two

Everything played out like a fantasy story, it was the way steam clung to her skin hiding away what I wanted to see most. The water as her feet touched the floor was undisturbed almost like she hadn't entered the hot spring. Being locked up inside of a castle was surely enough to drive anyone's desires crazy. This would be my second encounter since coming out this far but perhaps this will produce results. With my eyes settled on her own, I watched as she moved ever closer to me. While the glasses did her justice before now it's like this setting enhances her eyes further. I waited once more patiently for her decision with much anticipation.
" I didn't expect to see you so calm and restrained... Obedient nearly."
The way her words came out followed by a light chuckle felt teasing. I was far from obedient but I wasn't going to lavish one uncertain especially after Kai.

Macy/Since I had nothing else to do retiring seemed the best option till Seth finished up. Which left me with my thoughts and figuring out everything I pushed back. On one hand, I still needed to find Rachel and Tj to make sure they are okay. On the other was Alexis who I want to help but the cost seemed unknown at best. While it's clear I was expected to die and be reborn what wasn't clear was the how or what I lose and gain. They haven't reached out lately either which is concerning if nothing else. Macy/Laying in the bed I was slowly regaining movement of my body without much pain. Getting accustomed to pain seems to be a common occurrence at this point but still, I feel it vividly in most cases. While Im still worried about what happened im certain an answer won't come to me so easily. Believing he survived hardships is all I can do to prevent the madness from swallowing me. I never noticed how much his mark connected to me till it was gone and now I feel it weighing on me, nearly crushing my heart with its weight.When Jen arrived with a tray of food and a bottle of alcohol I'm certain she has plans for the day and night. When she settled everything down on a table a letter was passed my way which was from Kai. Macy/While it was unfair she kept most of her clothing on it was also true how she lacked that clothing. The skirt she wore wouldn't prevent me from finding her core quickly enough and tease her accordingly. Her shirt was already open which was easy enough to dispose of this woman came prepared. She seemed to love my eyes like this so I didn't want to steal her sight from her but she brought other things to help. Macy/While it's obvious how much Ferris isn't happy with us here he's doing well to make it more known. Whatever news he brings must be serious which makes me nervous. How did he justify killing his own people to Seth I wonder but is that even my concern. Breakfast went quickly which was expected since everyone was uncomfortable. Macy/While clashing with Maxine I could feel the differences in my transformations. While they did keep their word I'm inclined to believe they are responsible for more than I'm aware of. The intensity between us was heightened further as we continued to cash with one another. My body was still recovering but it seemed to have no hold on my movements. When claws touched the fur-covered skin I could feel a brief pain but it was gone in a second. My body seemed to be healing rapidly while Maxine seems to not heal at all. It's supposed to be an inherent thing for werewolves but her body just shows signs of damage.While I wish we could stop it's clear she has no intention of doing such. Macy/Carol was both surprised and happy to see me again but my health was concerning her. She was like a universal mother to people always fussing over them even if they are strangers. While Carol finished up in the fields I took Jen to see Alexis which she seemed excited for. Every chance I could read that book I took it but none of it went beyond the ritual which im certain I performed. So all I had were thoughts and possibilities since they never explained much to me. This whole thing is foreign to me and I don't know what I'm capable of either outside of combat at least. While Jen sat with her I took my time looking through books Terry had hoping for a straw to grasp. Perhaps I was to eager coming here before I was ready but my future doesn't seem too bright.After hours of searching, I couldn't find an answer to my question. Macy/After she calmed down and her tears had stopped the smell of food was rising. Jen must have wanted to cook something for Alexis to help her recover." Macy/It was clear I shouldn't have asked so I changed subjects which brought her back to reality. The reports came in on our surroundings and the enemy. The hell hounds have grown in number and at least two unidentified people were spotted. Seth arrived sometime later around nightfall leaving us with the final touches to our attack. If we do this fast enough we could easily push into the heart of Duke's lands and end everything. With every escape route mapped out and the enemy numbers roughly estimated Seth was confident of our chances. One strange thing was Ferris had not been spotted which worried me."
