Chapter Two

Abicus/

I pushed her forward till her palms became an imprint upon the desk itself. She was bending so easily without much effort as if I had anticipated her inside a spell. Her words became frozen in her throat leaving just her breath and strained sounds to escape her. To give someone control so easily I can only imagine how easy her life must be.

" Recite the rules in one minute...That is your first command."

Those words still frozen inside of her left me with just a few options. I could feel this thing inside of me stir restlessly as my thoughts seemed a solution. However, all I could come to was melting her entirely which meant I would have to press boundaries. My right hand moved itself to her bare arm trailing nails across the flesh causing her body to shake. Her body unashamedly was begging for more but this wasn't enough it seems to melt those frozen words. My other hand slid up her spine to the base of her skull gathering her hair neatly enough not to rip any strands out. That's when I pulled with a controlled restraint jerking her back towards me but I never let her hair go as I held her in place.

My eyes became more visible behind this veil of shadows as this creature inside me stirs more desperately. I could feel parts of me shifting to that more beastly side I had long shut away, but something about her was calling out this side of me. I placed sharpened teeth to flesh as I traced lines across exposed flesh leaving trickles of blood from the slight tear of the skin. Her gasps and sounds rang out like a bell as her body begged to collapse. The way her legs shook told me how much of her strength left her within these few moments, but still, her words haven't been spoken.

"You have not answered my question... You wish to remain defiant or have I stolen your voice?"

"Please..."

The only word she could get out between heavy breaths and struggled moans. It brought a smile to my face to see how easily these people give themselves to those with power. She was making it hard to control myself from devouring her I could feel how easy it was to shift myself without wanting to. Just as I was about to bite into her a knock on the door broke whatever spell was cast in this room. Everything that was happening had simply faded as if t didn't ever happen.

"Sir the car is waiting and Miss Evans needs to head home..."

"Yes of course... Make sure she gets home safely. And Deacon, be sure she has the rules memorized by tomorrow...."

"Of course, miss Evans this way."

She dislodged herself from me in such haste I couldn't help finding it amusing. Devils don't play by rules because the rules are made by us and everyone else has to obey them. Never would I have thought the woman from last night was my new secretary, but she still hasn't learned anything it seems. At least I can go home now and prepare for tomorrow's meeting with the other shareholders.

Frederick had a note from Deacon but this was simply a warning if anything. Normally he doesn't go to such lengths but perhaps he knows something about this woman that makes her dangerous to me. However, I had more pressing matters at hand and a warning meant little to me currently. Whatever it was will be handled by the morning per normal at any rate.

After arriving ahead of schedule to prepare for this meeting I noticed my missing secretary. Either she didn't learn the rules or she dropped the job like the others. People are replaceable either way so it doesn't matter in the larger scheme of things. When I reached the meeting room a familiar scent was coming from inside However, this was just a pup in comparison. What could such a youngling want with me I couldn't help the curiosity rising up.

"Can I help you, this building doesn't welcome strangers without an escort..."

"You must be the one who marked what's mine. Do you have any idea who I am?. "

"A lost puppy..."

"You want to make an enemy of my fathers council, maybe I should show you-"

I came to this civilized world to leave behind such politics and now this pup dares challenge me. The restraint I normally have was loosened just enough and I saw how his body collapsed before me. I didn't even need to release the locks on my cage, I could crush him with pressure alone.

"The difference between us, is I'm no puppy. Do you have any idea who's domain you walked into.?... This isn't some little den where cowards crowd. Disappear from my sight before my temper claims your life."

Once more I had to restrain myself from destroying everything around me. I believe I understand what the warning was regarding now perhaps I can still leave this place. Unfortunately for that low-level omega, he had no idea what Alpha he was coming at, perhaps I had gone soft in my years. I should have bled him dry right here and fed him to my hunger.

"Such a headache to start my day...."

The meetings had gone without issue and everything got settled. I was even able to a quite a few more contracts on the side as well however, my secretary was still missing. So I sent Deacon to fetch her or her resignation letter either was fine at this point considering the trouble she caused me. Luckily the rest of the day late into the night was uneventful or it was till I felt myself being summoned. Which means the pup found more trouble for me to deal with.

The location I was being called to was a park in the center of town, I hadn't recognized any of these people calling me. But it didn't matter to me who they were in the end it's a mistake for them to provoke me so recklessly. I decided to call Fredrick giving him the location I needed to go to tonight which caught him by surprise. Once this is finished perhaps I'll move to another city far from here, peace is the hardest thing to find it seems.

When I arrived at my destination I sent Fredrick home early even though he protested. This wasn't a mess for him to be involved in that's for certain. With three elders present things could easily get messy for anyone, this was more than a show of force. Walking through this place did not take long to reach a wide-open clearing with many strangers waiting. Besides the elders, they had a handful of other lower-class werewolves next to them. But the man I subjugated through sheer command was missing entirely.

" My time is precious to me, as is my peace. Let's get this moving without excessive posturing and bluffs."

It has been a long time since I released my wolf spirit from its bonds. However, they needed to know what they were up against even if I'm no longer an Alpha myself. Even this small showing of my power takes considerable strength to maintain control.

" Impressive spirit... What is your name?."

" Abicus, However to the world I'm Nathan Samuel. I do not hold a rank any longer so you have nothing to fear over territory wars."

" You marked someone and that has caused us much problems. As you can see we are a small chapter struggling to survive. So we will have to invoke the right of Boon. I am certain you understand what that means yes?"

" If that is all you wish, fine. But do understand one thing, I do not yield to anyone. If you plan to leash me I will devour you without hesitation. Call me when you decided on your boon."

I expected something more from this but once I revealed myself they just requested a boon. Something is not right with these elders, everything feels wrong. I suppose I'll know more in time.

" One more thing, Abicus... The woman you marked now belongs to you."

" Oh?... Sorry but she is my secretary only, I have no need for such things."

" That is the law here, you claimed her regardless of intentions."

If they call that a mark then perhaps they don't even know who I am. Either way that woman is stuck with me it seems. However this just adds more suspicion to this werewolf chapter.
