Nora

I was heading into the sitting room when the maids began scurrying around with the beta’s voice blasting.

“Out of the way.”

I turned around immediately, I didn’t want to see him or have any discussion with him, not after the humiliating words I received this morning.

After his departure, the whole maids gathered around me to mock me, explaining that this was only the beginning of my sufferings.

I had cheated their words without a single tear being let out. I was more concerned about terminating the baby. At this point, I wouldn’t want my child to see his mother being humiliated by both his father and other maids.

“Wait there!” He barked, his words drawling and I hastened my steps.

“One more step from you and I’d chop off your feet with my hands.” Everyone gasped and I stopped. It was a threat he could carry out.

“Turn around.” He ordered and I did it slowly, my gaze plastered to the floor.

He staggered towards me, holding a few money pouches in his arms. He was drunk, he reeked and I felt my stomach tighten. I hated the smell.

He had a mischievous smile on his face as he reached my front. He was struggling to keep himself straight and I exhaled deeply, waiting to know why he had stopped me.

“You… You… Damned omega.” He cursed and I bit my lips, I felt tears building up in my eyes but just like this morning, I wasn’t going to let his words affect me.

“Look at me!” He snapped and I raised my head up, staring at him blankly while struggling to hide my discomfort.

“Here!” He slammed a few money pouches to my chest, stunning the hell out of me. I didn’t grab them, they fell to the ground, clinking.

“Is this enough? I want to buy my pup… Keep him and if this isn’t enough, I’ll give you more. Just tell me… Since money is what you want, I’ve got lots of it and I’m willing to give you as much as you want… Don’t just ask for everything...” He burped and I couldn’t hide my displeasure anymore.

“What… What are you doing?” I demanded, trying very hard to control my anger, I was furious… The maids were staring at me, envy and disgust in their eyes.

Everyone watched quietly, glaring at me. I was disgusted, this was the biggest form of disgrace ever…

“What does it look like? Buying my pup… Buying your womb.” He replied with a loud laugh and it snapped every form of restraint I had over myself.

With the rage and pain burning in my heart, I lifted my hand and slapped him as hard as my tiny hand could go.

“What the fuck is wrong with you!” I yelled and silence dominated. His eyes were slightly clearer now and he was staring at me.

“Buy my womb? Is this what it’s all about? Money! Do you think I’m going to keep this child because you’re offering me these? Do you think giving me the whole world would stop me! I do not want your offspring to ever grace the earth, not when you’re still this way, overbearing, cruel and feral!“ I yelled, tears streaming down my cheeks.

Beta Seyric stepped forward but he was stopped by Alpha Damien. I turned around and dashed away in rage.

I kept walking as fast as I could, knowing fully well Alpha Damien was behind me while the beta called onto him.

“Nora!” He yelled but I kept running, hoping I could run out of the pack house but I knew it was only a matter of moments before I stopped.

I was already feeling dizzy and weak, my lungs burned… I was thirsty at the same time. I slowed down, trying to catch my breath as I held my waist.

“Nora…” Alpha Damien called as he neared me and I rolled my eyes. “Ple… please just… Just let me be…” I pleaded in between breaths.

“Why… Don’t you want money? Seyric… Said…” He muttered and I scoffed.

“Said what? Said ladies sell their wombs for money? Say they sell pups? If that’s the case then go out there and buy yourself a pup, I’m sure you’d get it in moments, it can’t be that hard right?” I retorted and he stared at me with confusion, making it more disgusting.

Was he feigning ignorance or was the alcohol making him do all these crazy things.

“I… I can’t argue with you, I’m… I’m so exhausted.” I muttered as I staggered back, feeling dizzy as my eyes began spinning.

I was struggling to stand firm but everything began spinning crazily and I continued staggering.

“Nora…” Alpha Damien grabbed me, holding me firmly.

“Are you okay?” He asked and I nodded, pushing his hand away.

I took a step forward and felt light headed, falling into his open arms. “Nora…” He called and I squinted my eyes.

“Should I carry her Alpha? She seems dizzy?” I heard Alpha Seyric ask as I shut my eyes, trying to gather a little strength so I’d be able to work.

“No! Nobody is allowed to touch my mate!” He growled and much to my astonishment, he scooped me into his arms.

I was filled with panic immediately but opening my eyes, I had to shut them immediately because of the scorching sun.

“Alpha… Please… Put me down…” I pleaded, scared that both of us would go crashing on the ground because how could a drunk person be carrying me in his arms.

“No.” He replied firmly and I shut my mouth, exhaling as I resigned to my fate. I inhaled deeply and my heart skipped a beat.

I could hear his heartbeat, subconsciously I pressed my head even further to his chest, listening to his irregular heartbeat.

His scent filled my nostrils, heck it was choking but in the best way ever. There was just something about him that pushed me away and pulled me towards him at the same time.

It was conflicting and goddess knew I was genuinely confused on whether to be pushed away or pulled towards him.
