Chapter 6

COMPENSATION

...SALLY...

"Are you sure you going to be okay?" I asked Rita who was still laying in her bed, she had been discharged a few weeks ago and was getting a little better,

"Of course I am Sally, you worry too much about me" She Complained looking irritated. I didnt feel like leaving her alone especially since she wasn't yet fully recovered,

Today was the beginning of my exams, I didnt have much of a choice because if I didnt take the test, I was going to have to rewrite next year, my heart ached as I looked at Rita

"The food is already in the microwave in case you get hungry, call me if something happens okay" I said

"That's like the hundredth time you have told me that Sally, I will be okay, just go and write the exam before its too late" she nagged, I slowly nodded and kissed her forehead

"Remember to call me"

"I know!" Rita said, I looked at her for the last time, taking a deep breath, headed out.

Jane, my best friend was waiting for me when I got outside,

"Am sorry I couldn't say hey to Rita, we are already late" she said as I got into the car

"Its no big deal" I assured her, Jane had been spending most of her time at my place since Rita got discharged, I was thankful for her company and glad that I had a friend like her.

"Are you okay with leaving Rita home alone?" She asked as she drove off

"Of course not but its not like I have another option" I said with a deep sign

"Don't worry, am sure she will okay, besides, the paper will take less than two hours, we will be done before you know it" she said to which I nodded

"You didnt tell me how you managed to get the money needed for the operation you know, who lent you all that money?" She asked changing the topic,

I thought of what I could tell her, she was there when I called most of my parent's friends asking for help so I couldn't tell her the same lie I told Rita but then neither was I going to tell her about the contract I signed with Doctor Crown,

Thinking of her, I had not received a phone call or any news from her, I still couldn't understand why she made sleep with her son,

Has much as I didnt want to think about it, I couldn't get that man's face out of my mind,

I could almost feel his touch on my skin, it was frustrating that I thought of that night as much as I did, it was absurd, what happened already happened, Rita was well and my life was pretty much the same again, only if I could get him out of mind,

"There you go with that face Again" I heard Jane's voice

"What face?" I asked and stared out the window hiding my flashed face from her view

"I thought I was your best friend yet you won't tell me anything" she complained

"Oh hey, we have reached the car park" I said and immediately got out of the car, Despite being my best friend, there were some things I couldn't tell Jane, one of them being this, I mean where would I even start from, the whole situation was just weird to begin with..

Two hours later, I was done with my papers and went to the carpark to wait for Jane who was still in the exam room,

I got out my phone and called Rita while waiting,

"Hello" I let out a sign of relief when I heard her voice

"Are you well, did you eat?" I immediately asked

"Quit worrying so much, its only being three hours since you left, am okay, you are making me wonder what you wrote on your exam papers while worrying like that!" She exclaimed

"You know your big sister is an intelligent Soon to be Doctor" I said with a chuckle

"Sally Andrews" I heard someone call my name and looked up. My mouth was suddenly dry,

"Sally Andrews?" The man repeated again. There was no way on earth I could forget that face or Voice, this seemed impossible. Robert Crown was standing in front of me his tall body making me feel smaller than I was

"Rita, I will call you back" I said remembering I was still on a phone call and hang up. my mind raced with different thoughts, why was Robert Crown here?,

Did his mom tell him about me?, I had thought I was never going to see him ever again yet there he was

"Yes, how can I help you?" I asked nervously, I didn't know if I had to act like I didn't know who he was or what

"Follow me" he said and began making his way to his car, I followed quietly praying I wasn't in some sort of trouble, 

We both entered the car and he closed the door.

"How can I help you?" I asked praying my voice didn't sound as shaken as I felt,

"Am sure you already know why am herr" He asked, I was no Jesus, how the hell would I know what he wanted when I didn't even know how I was supposed to act. The deal was to sleep with him not see him again

"I don't know what you talking about please enlighten me" I quietly spoke

"You weren't on the guest list but yet you were let in and ended up in my bed, I want to know who exactly paid you, how much did they give you?" His questions were making me uncomfortable paired with the fact that he was looking at me like he was ready to kill me any moment now

"I don't know what you are talking about" I said yet again, Lady Crown been keen on telling me to keep everything that happened a secret and I was pretty certain she didn't want her son to know it was all her

"Am not in the mood to play any games with you, its either you tell me exactly who sent you or I will have you arrested for rape" 

"Rape?" I repeated, forget the angelic face, was this man out of his mind?, 

"I didn't force you to touch me neither was I the one in charge concerning what happened that night" it made me mad that this man would threaten me with something like this, Rape!?, I had lost my precious virginity for heaven'sake

"Am giving you until..." He briefly looked at his wrist watch

"Till 5pm to tell me what I want to hear or we will have this discussion in court" he moved his face a little closer to mine with a deadly stare making me hold my breath

"And i will make sure you compensate me a huge sum of money" he threatened his jaw clenched...
