A NIGHT WITH XANDER

Chapter 3

OVER AT NY CITY AIRPORT

At the entrance of the airport, cheers and loud chatters could be heard coming from the great crowd that gathered outside.

Both men and women stood there wanting to take at at least a glimpse of the person that would soon make his way out.

Reporters, camera men and other admirers stood under the hot scorching sun of the afternoon.

Some had given up and went home while others stayed and fortunately, their wait wasn't In vain as from inside, a figure could be seen approaching them.

Although they weren't sure who it was, loud screams of excitement filled the place rising to the air.

And out from the airport stood the one and only person they had all gathered here for, Mr Xander.

"Mr Xander we love you" girls cheered in excitement raising the cardboard paper they came with which has his name attached to the word, WELCOME BACK to it.

To their hands were also cardboards images of him and some had a love shaped heart to it.

Now striding out of the airport, bodyguards with huge muscles stationed themselves in front of him creating a way for him to pass.

"Mr Xander we need to talk to you. Even if it's just for a seconds" said a reporter following behind him at a distance created by his bodyguards but Xander who walked by showed her no face.

"How do you feel coming back to NY city after so long?"

"What are your plans now that you are back" asked s reporter but was ignored.

They followed him like bees attracted to a flower till he was out of sight and into the car parked specifically for him right outside.

Having ignored them all, he reclined to the seat and with his assistant Gerald stepping in, the car came alive as it's engine ignited driving off into the distance.

It's been a while since be had set his foot in NY city and only because of a very important business he needed to attend to brought him back here.

The ride to their destination was quiet as none of them said a word.

Where Gerald focused on driving and Xander focused on the phone to his hand, his attention solely on it as throughout the ride, his gaze didn't lift up to see the scenery of the city.

Only when the car abruptly came to a halt was his attention taken away and raising his head, he stared at Gerald who stepped out the car to inspect what was wrong.

Seeing the fault he came to stand beside the window Xander was at.

"What's wrong?" Gerald could hear the deep bold voice of the man inside the car regardless of the window still being winded up.

"It appears the road has been blocked. We will have to take another route" he said waiting for a response from the man inside but instead of agreeing to his words, he instead said.

"Take me to any bar close by instead" he uttered and Gerald hearing this nodded.

Stepping into the car, the engine ignited once again and the journey began but this time, to a different destination and with a different route.

Before they arrived, Gerald had already placed placed a call to the manger of a bar close by and by his voice of excitement, he was quite thrilled to entertain them at his bar.

Taking the shortest path there, they arrived at the destination in no time and just as Xander stepped out of the car, so did Gerald along with the other bodyguard who followed from behind in another vehicle.

Taking one last drag of the cigarette situated between his fingers, he stomped the butt to the ground stepping over it as he walked by.

A lady from the bar assigned to direct him in approached him with a smile.

"Right this way Mr Xander" she said polity with a smile, her cheeks having a paint of crimson red as she blushed on seeing him.

Walking in the direction she pointed, he stepped into the bar which seemed lively with people drinking and spending their time.

His aura was felt by the people around making them turn their gaze to him.

This wasn't something new on his side but the most unexpected thing happened when a girl approached them.

One would think she was simply walking by but the strangest thing happened when instead of walking by, she maneuvered her way to stand in front of Xander and standing on her toes, she kissed him.

Large gasp eluded the lips of the people around mostly a gasp from Gerald who seemed to be extremely shocked by this action.

Her kiss was gentle on the lips and light as a feather.

It all happened so quickly and by the time it was done, Xander had been kissed by a girl!

When she broke the kiss standing on her feet, a scowl formed making his brows to furrow deeply.

"How dare you kiss me?"

To this he could see her shivering immensely, regret clouding her eyes.

The audacity she had to approach him and act like that.

Did she have a death wish.

He was infuriated but then, realization hit him.

He wasn't allergic to her.

Glancing down at his hand uncovered by the tuxedo he wore, he saw no reaction.

How was this possible?

As he was accessing this, his bodyguards approached her wanting to get hold of her when his gaze lifted to them and with a signal from him, they remained routed in place.

The tears prickling down her face to the ground met his eyes. 

The tip of her nose turned red, looking further down to her plump lips which were moistened with her glistening tears.

Her Petit body quivered tremendously.

If there was a thing he hated other than women, it was the sight of a person crying in front of him.

It completely disgusted him but In her case, it was... Different.

Xander could see the confusion that marked her face but more so, he could see the tears in her eyes and before he could make out things, a loud yell was heard.

"Evelyn!"

"Evelyn!" A loud yell from Josh was heard and the regret that masked her eyes now had a strong sense of anger in them.

Her name on his lips disgusted him and as he approached her, quickly she turned to the man she had kissed.

An emotion unexplainable hit her as she gazed at him.

His demeanor was calm and refined but his gaze intense and hot making her want to swallow hard which she did.

There was an impeccable aura which surrounded him, one that screamed of authority and power.

Evelyn had noticed his bodyguards when they wanted to comprehend her  but they stopped.

Perhaps it was an order from him.

She swallowed knowing she was going to regret all her actions later but at the moment she hoped he could understand.

Her eyes gave a pleading look.

A look conflicted by both help and forgiveness.

As Josh's steps towards her increased, she called out

"Baby" in a sweet calm and loving tone that stunned Josh to his wits.

Never had he heard her utter such words to a man not even himself.

If one thing he was sure of, it was that she was definitely pretending to know him because the man before them showed no emotions neither did he reciprocate to her words.

He stood there simply looking at her with his that lacked emotions.

Annoyed by the she was going all the way to annoy him and more so with a complete stranger greatly annoyed him so stepping forward, Josh's hands stretched out wanting to pull her away from him when unexpectedly, Evelyn was pulled away from his reach by the stranger.

When Josh reached out to touch her, Evelyn found herself being pulled to the side and on to a sturdy chest with strong muscular arms wrapped around her slender waist,a sweet mesmerising scent invading her nostrils.

But when she felt his strong arms snaked around her waist, her body trembled as though she was just splashed with a bucket of cold water.

His hold on her gave off a domineering and possessive attitude. 

Her frail body was nothing compared to the veraciously beastly body.

Her face lifted to the man before her, shock filling both her and Josh.

And just when she tried to hide the emotions her face showed, she was even more shocked when she heard him speak.

"Missed me?" He questioned her, his eyes downcast to her.

Evelyn's breathings hitched as she heard his baritone voice speak to her.

He was talking to her and worse, his words he uttered surprised her.

Snapping out of her reverie, she quickly nodded looking down at the tuxedo he wore.

It now had a stain of cake on it and it made her feel extremely guilty.

It looked really expensive and she wasn't sure if she could afford to buy him a new one.

"What's this?" Asked Josh in an angry tone as confusion masked his face.

"Evelyn stop this nonsense and come with me right now" he demanded.

"Who are you?" Xander asked with his brows raised up to Josh in an uninterested way.

"I'm her fiance" he answered bowling his fists together.

"She didn't tell me anything about that. Do you know him?" He asked her and Evelyn looking up at Josh's face at the moment eased her soul because she was loving the look up his face.

It was a look of betrayal.

Yes, he felt betrayed and she wanted him to think that way besides, he did betray her.

"I don't know him.

He's been pestering him all day" she said snuggling into Xander's embrace.

The affection they showed in front of Josh irritated him.

"Evelyn come here right now and stop this Sharad" he said.

"You should stop your stupidity or else I'll stop it for you. 

She says she doesn't know you so leave" said Xander, his eyes darkening at Josh.

His gaze must have terrified him because Evelyn could see Josh gulp down nothing but his stance still remained.

Amelia approached him and glancing at Evelyn, she tugged at Josh's sleeve.

"Josh let's go. We'll get her next time" she said wanting him to heed to her words.

Josh might not know who the man before them was but she had a clue.

At least she knew he was influential and shouldn't be messed with but seeing Evelyn so close to him made her grow jealous with envy.

"Come Josh let's go" she said again and this time, she pulled him with her.

In Extreme annoyance, they left their sight and only when they were gone did Evelyn breath a sigh of relief.

She hadn't expected things to turn out this way.

"Now that they are gone, how do you intend to repay me?" Asked the stranger.

"Thank you" she uttered with relief Washing her face.

With them gone, the act was over and she wanted to pull herself away from the stranger she just met but he gripped on to her Even more firmly making her blink.

"Sir I'm sorry for placing you in this situation. You can please let go of me now" she said but her words were brushed away when he scoffed at her, his hold on her still in place.

"Is that it? You should know young lady I do not do thank you's.

If you want to thank me, there are other ways of doing so"

"I... I'm sorry, I don't have money on me at the moment but you can give me your account number so I will forward some amount of money to you"

Evelyn blurted out thinking that's what a normal human being would want if not a word of appreciation.

Besides she didn't have any problem sending him money since she used him. 

Xander stared at the nerves of the woman before him, his frown widening even more.

Clearly it could be noted that she had no idea who he was.

"Do you think I'm poor or I lack money? Your money is useless to me.

There are other ways you can repay me " as he said this, Evelyn noticed the devious grin which aligned his facials and the evil stare that came to his eyes. 

"H...how?" She asked with her voice trembling in fear.

Her words made the grin up his face to widen.

"How good are you in bed?" He asked making her gasp and in her attempt to  distance herself away from him, he only held her tighter.

His grip even tougher than Josh's as he pulled her along. 

Aurora who attempted to step forward was stopped by his bodyguards.

It was then Evelyn realised the deep mess she was in.
