A night with Mr Xander

Chapter one.

"Evelyn" a gentle voice called out.

"Evelyn" it came again but this time, it came with a gentle tap on the shoulder which jolted the Evelyn who laid next to an unconscious little girl awake.

Her eyes groggily opened and the beeping noise coming from the machine was heard.

The room had a strong smell of anesthetic.

Evelyn's gaze Landed on the nurse next to her whose voice drew her out of her sleep before averting to the girl on the bed with am IV to her hand.

She had been unconscious since last night and hadn't woken up since then.

"She isn't awake" she said, her words directed to the nurse who only smiled in turn and guessing what she might be hinting at, nurse Ava parted her lips to speak.

"She's out of harm now.

The surgery was a success.

She's just resting" she said making relief wash over Evelyn's face.

Giving out a sigh, Evelyn turned her head back to the little girl, Tina.

Ever since she was informed about the operation Tina would undergo, Evelyn has been overly anxious.

Worst sceneries popped up in her head making her heart to drum loudly in her chest and when she was taken in to the operation room, the anxiety she felt increased.

Yes, Tina wasn't in any way related to her but she felt their stories was quite similar as they were both orphaned at a young age.

The alarm set to her phone rang and realising what it was for, a gasp left her lips.

She was going to be late for work.

Quickly she stood wanting to bustle out of there only stopping to take a glance at the girl, a sense of guilt In her eyes as she had promised to the first person she would see when she opened her eyes.

"Don't worry about Tina. I'll take care of her when she wakes up and I'll tell her you left because it was urgent"said nurse Ava for Evelyn to mouth a thank you before going forward to land a loss on Tina's forehead and stomping out of there.

Yes Evelyn was glad the surgery Tina had was a success but she also had other reasons to smile.

Today was October 9th, the day her boyfriend jack would finally be discharged from the hospital which was also his birthday.

Jack had gotten into an accident which had almost left him dead but fortunately, he survived and he wouldn't be released to go home.

Now Evelyn wasn't a girl of emotions but on this day, she couldn't hide her excitement as it gleamed in her eyes.

Arrangements have been made to welcome him back home and for Evelyn,she planned to surprise him with the latest vintage watch he always liked.

It didn't matter if it was overly too expensive for her to afford, all she knew was that she would get it for him Even if she had to work her butt off day and night.

Taking a cab, she quickly arrived at the restaurant where she worked and judging by the looks of it, the place seemed to be extremely busy as it was bustling with people here and there.

Today was exceptionally a busy day as people stepped in and out of the restaurant.

More people meant more work for the staffs to carry out.

Right before she could go to the back to get changed, the voice of the manager boomed in her ears halting her movement.

"Evelyn!" 

A low shriek erupted up her throat pausing her steps when she heard her name being called with such force as though whoever it was wanted to strangle her on the spot and turning her head to see who it was, she found that it was none other than the manager Jim calling.

The scowl spread across his face frightened her to her wits but none the less she put on a bold stance as she stood erect, her shoulders now straightened up.

"Manager Jim you are here? What can I do for you?" 

Her words were asked politely but even with that, it didn't dispell the furious look up his face and instead, his face turned extremely ugly at her words.

"Miss Evelyn" he called walking towards her.

"You're late, again.

What did I tell you about being late on the job?" He questioned stepping closer to her and seeing this she couldn't help but take a step back, her gaze not leaving his.

"I wasn't late this time around" she explained looking at her wrist watch which displayed the time.

"It's just 7:54" she stated but his advance towards her continued.

"That doesn't count as early either does it?

You should be glad I have a liking towards you if not...

Go change and help the others" he commanded for her to scurry out of his sight leaving to do as told.

In no time, Evelyn changed into the uniform assigned to them going out to take the customers orders.

Now manger Jim didn't make it easier for her because throughout that day, he seemed to be targeting her.

He would make her perform the work of others and have her do other things which wasn't her duty at all.

It continued until it was closing hours.

Only then did she finally take a break heaving a sigh of relief.

Thinking the worst was over, she let down her guard, head resting on the counter, eyes half way closed but in the next moment, she felt a light touch on her skin jolting her awake.

Her eyes darted to see manager Jim next to her.

"Manager Kim..." She could only utter only to be shushed by him as he inched towards her.

The place seemed empty as everyone seemed to have left.

 Having no where else to go, she stood there looking him straight in the eye.

She was fond of his approach but lately it got even weird when he tried to get physical with her giving her hints on how he wanted to be with her, to make her his but instead of complying she kept playing the confused card, pretending to not understand a word he said.

That has been her excuse all along and fortunately, their conversation wouldn't last for long as it ended up being interrupted by one thing or the other.

This only angered him but today, he seemed to go beyond his boundary as he caged her between his arms placing both hands to her side, a smug curling up his face showing hints of his intentions.

An intention Evelyn knew all too well.

"Do you prefer living such life?"

"Sorry?"said Evelyn.

"Don't play dumb with me Evelyn.

You can have it all. I have told you this times without number. So what do you say hmm?"

"And my decision still remains the same sir" 

She could clearly see he wasn't taking a liking to her words.

The formal address sir she had used made it all clear to him, she wanted nothing from him.

"Evelyn yo..." Just when he attempted to speak Unfortunatelyfor him, the loud sound of glasses breaking from behind him disrupted his actions resulting for him to turn only to see Olivia bending down to pick up the broken pieces.

Her head held low as she bent to pick the broken shads of glass.

A scowl formed up his forehead with great lines between his brows.

"What do you think you are doing?" He rudely snapped at her for her to give off the pitiful look, her hands working as fast as it could to gather the broken pieces together.

"I'm really sorry sir it was an accident" she replied not daring to look up at him.

"That is coming out of your paycheck!" 

With Olivia's sudden intrusion, he knew he couldn't keep up with the topic he had in mind so he simply yelled at her leaving both ladies alone.

Olivia seeing his exiting back hurried to Evelyn's side carefully noting her expression, a look of surprise made its way up her face as not a single hint of fear displayed on Evelyn's face.

It was like she was unaffected by Mr Jim's advances.

"Thank you" Evelyn simply said regarding the actions done by Olivia as a favor for it happened to stop manager Jim's advances towards her.

"Don't mention it. Aren't you scared of him? I mean, From the look of it you seem fine with his actions" said Olivia but Evelyn simply shrugged.

She was never one to show her emotions so openly.

She only considered such display as being weak and even if she didn't look it, Olivia could sense she was scared on the inside.

Sometimes her lack of emotions towards things made Olivia think that Evelyn had some type of disorder. 

"There's no use for such. It's not like it would stop him so it's way better to show him that you aren't scared of him" she said going to pick up her bag and since it was closing hours, Olivia requested her to wait a little before getting her things and leaving the place together heading towards a cake shop where she bought a vanilla flavored cake.

Today was her fiance's birthday and even when they were going to throw a party for him, Evelyn still thought of buying his favorite cake.

She had personally applied for a job at the restaurant and it took her months to save up so much so that she can be able to purchase the latest vintage watch for him.

This was her birthday gift to him and just thinking of how his reaction would he when he lays his eyes on it made a subtle smile creep up her delicate lips.

The watch cost almost all of her savings but she didn't mind since she was doing it for a good course.

Later on, her cousin aurora had called to ask of her whereabouts to which she answered.

"I'm on my way to the hospital" 

"Why so early? I thought you would wait for the others so we could all go together to see him" said aurora.

"I know. I thought about it but it seemed my urge to see him surpassed the plans we had" she said for aurora to sigh and although not being able to see her, Evelyn could tell aurora was shaking her head at the moment not out of disappointment but out of the fact that love had hit her cousin.

"Well I don't blame you.

I guess we will meet you there at the hospital"she said.

Their conversion ended on a good note and in no time, Evelyn arrived at the hospital where jack was kept.

Paulo off the driver, she walked in heading to the receptionist table where she asked of his ward number.

"Ward 308. Take a left and go straight down" answered the reception for Evelyn to do as told.

Heading along the path showed to ker, Evelyn couldn't hide her excitement.

Her hand going to nervously pinch into her palm until eventually, she arrived at the ward with its door closed.

Evelyn who was about to press down on the handle froze when she heard weird noises from inside.

It seemed more like moans of wild pleasure being derived from a man and a woman.

This made her brows to furrow deeply making her turn her head to the number just above the door which boldly had the number 308 written on it.

She wasn't mistaken but was the nurse mistaken?

Perhaps she uttered the wrong ward number to her?

As she thought of this, Evelyn was about to retrace her steps back to the reception when she heard other than moans, voices.

A voice that made her stop In her tracks as she recognised the voice anywhere.

It was jack's voice.

"Oh my you're so tight" he moaned in Extreme delight.

"Oh yh, why don't you go deeper" said  another voice coming from a lady.

The voices was so families to her making her body to freeze in cold sweat.

Could It...

No, it couldn't be.

"Harder baby" said the voice similar to jack's and not able to bear the curiosity which rose in her, her hand reached for the doorknob gently twisting it open.

The door pulled open to reveal two figures entangled with each other.

One above the other.

Positions switched, Now the face of the lady couldn't be seen as she had her face buried in his member but for the man who laid there, his head was thrown back as he derived pleasure her mouth gave.

Her warm fluid spewed all over his member and Evelyn by the door watched as she sucked and hobbled the huge erected member to her mouth, sucking as though it was a lollipop.

Only when his head raised did Evelyn get to see it was jack.

Hot tears formed on her eyes and as though noticing yhere was a presence in the room, jack turned to her, his eyes widening in Extreme shock as he uttered.

"Evelyn?" Now as he said this, the female whose face was buried in his manhole finally lifted her face to Evelyn's surprise, it was Amanda.

And as for Evelyn who stood there, although she caught them in the act, she couldn't bring Herself to believe it. Right in that moment she had mixed emotions all wanting to explode at a time causing pain to her heart.

"Evelyn, yo... What are you doing here?!" He asked slightly taken aback by her appearance but Amelia on the other hand still held on to josh wrapping her arms around him completely ignoring the presence of Evelyn as her eyes focused on Josh.

Sweat trickled down her face from the proactive deed she happened to see them in, her breathing coming out in large pant of air and her chest heaved.

"I guess the cat is out of the bag. Welcome Evelyn" 

Her smile and her words only caused more pain in her heart.

"Evelyn it isn't what it looks like" said Josh trying to justify himself.

But what was there to justify when he's already caught in it?

"How long has this been going on?" 

"I... Eve..."

Josh who attempted to speak was interrupted by Amelia's words.

"Three good years!" Amelia said not feeling remorseful.

So many emotions spiralled in Evelyn's head and not able to contain her tears, she ran out of the ward but when Josh tried to run after her, he was held back by Amelia.

"What's your problem?" He yelled for her to release him, a sneer leaving her lips.

"Nothing, are you just going to run after her without dressing properly first?"

She asked pointing to his zipper, his hands reached for his trousers where he dressed them properly heading out to get hold of Evelyn but when he left he couldn't see her figure anymore.

His eyes roamed round the place but yet no sign of her, this made him grit his teeth in anger.

Not able to handle the shock, she bristled out of there knocking into a figure on her way out.

Running out the ward and towards the entrance, she met aurora and the others stepping in.

Their eyes met for a brief second before she scurried out of there with tears hung to her eyes.

And aurora seeing this followed quickly from behind trying to catch up with her but couldn't as she was already far too gone.

Evelyn ran for long moments, till it felt like all the oxygen in her was knocked Out but no tear slid down her face.

Her throat ached badly and her heart hurt terribly.

She couldn't process it all now and needed somewhere to seat when she sighted a bar just down the road.

Heading in, she saw people there are making out on seats, others drunk and dancing to the music.

Just as she approached the counter taking her seat, the bartender approached her looking at her forlorn face for a while.

A face that looked utterly betrayed.

It was then she let out a sad cry.

It hurts to see your fiancée and your best friend together.

"What do you want miss?" He asked but Evelyn looking up looking totally lost simply let out a laugh.

She was laughing at herself and felt like a fool.

She wanted to forget this day ever happened.

She wanted to forget it all.

Looking up at the bartender with a smile she spoke up.

"Anything.

I want to forget it happened.

I want to forget it all.

I WANT TO GET DRUNK" She answered.
