Sophia’s POV…..

The park was half empty and quiet just how I liked it.

Some pigeons were flying around and I poured some snacks for them to eat.

I stood near the old fountain, my arms wrapped around myself, watching the water trickle over moss-covered stone. Children’s laughter echoed somewhere in the distance, but it felt like it belonged to another world. Another life.

A life that wasn’t mine.

I didn’t hear him approach.

I felt him.

That static energy I always felt whenever Adrian was around me.

That familiar presence behind me. The same one that used to make me feel safe. The same one that now made my spine go rigid.

“Sophia…”

My name in his voice still did something to me. Still curled low in my stomach. Still twisted my heart.

I turned slowly.

Adrian stood a few steps away, his chest rising and falling like he’d run here. His dark hair was slightly damp, his jaw clenched, eyes burning with something raw and desperate.

“Please,” he said quietly. “Don’t walk away again.”

Sophia's pov….Morning light slipped through the thin gaps in the curtains, painting pale gold lines across the ceiling.I lay there staring at them, counting each beam like it might help me organize the chaos inside my head.Rick’s house didn’t feel like home. Not yet.Maybe not ever. The bed was comfortable. Too comfortable. The kind of expensive mattress that swallowed you whole. The sheets smelled freshly washed, crisp and clean, but the air in the room felt… heavy. Like it carried memories that weren’t mine. Or maybe they were mine, buried too deep to reach. My head throbbed faintly.Dreams I couldn’t remember clung to me like fog.I pushed myself upright, swinging my legs over the edge of the bed. My bare feet met the cold floor, grounding me. Today, I decided, I wouldn’t just sit around drowning in confusion.Today, I would move.I padded into the bathroom, splashed water on my face, and studied my reflection.Same eyes. Same mouth. Same face. But the girl looking back at me fe

Andrew’s POV…..Hospitals had a way of stripping control from even the most powerful men.I’d built empires.Closed billion-dollar deals.Commanded rooms full of people with a single glance. But here? Here I was just another man sitting in a stiff plastic chair,my hands clasped so tightly my knuckles had gone white, staring at a set of double doors that had swallowed the woman I loved.Time moved strangely in hospitals. Every second stretched. Every sound felt louder. Every passing nurse made my chest seize with expectation.Beside me, Adrian sat hunched forward, elbows on his knees, jaw locked tight. He looked like a man barely holding himself together. The confident, dangerous presence he usually carried had been stripped down to raw nerves and exhaustion. We hadn’t spoken much since arriving.Didn’t need to.The weight in the air said everything.“She left,” Adrian said suddenly, his voice low and rough.I turned slightly, watching him.“Sophia,” he clarified, as if I needed it.

Sophia’s POV……..Airports always felt like places where lives split in different directions.I sat beside Rick on the plane, hands folded in my lap, watching the clouds stretch endlessly beyond the window.Blank and empty__Kind of like my mind.He didn’t talk much during boarding. Just handled everything with calm efficiency—tickets, luggage, directions. Like he’d done this before. Like he knew how to take care of things, and take care of me.“You okay?” he asked softly once we were in the plane.I nodded. “I think so.”It wasn’t a lie. But it wasn’t the full truth either.I wasn’t overwhelmed. I wasn’t panicking. I wasn’t scared in the way everyone seemed to expect me to be.I was just… empty.Like I was watching my life through glass.Rick didn’t push further. He just leaned back in his seat, giving me space. That felt considerate. Respectful.Something inside me loosened a little.___“Our home,” Rick said quietly as he parked, the car.I stared at the building. Two stories. White

  • A NIGHT WITH MY BILLIONAIRE BOSS    Chapter 115: Me or her

Andrew’s POV……The hospital corridor felt too narrow, too bright, too loud.Every second dragged like a punishment.I paced the length of the floor for what felt like the hundredth time, my footsteps echoing sharply against the polished tiles. Nurses passed me with sympathetic glances. Doctors murmured in low tones. Machines beeped behind closed doors.None of it helped.Nothing helped.Lily was in there. And for the first time since I’d learned how to control chaos, I was completely powerless.I scrubbed a hand over my face, stopping in front of the large window at the end of the hallway. The city lights below blurred slightly as exhaustion settled behind my eyes.Pull it together, Sterling.I’d built companies from nothing. I’d negotiated impossible deals. I’d handled enemies who would’ve broken lesser men.But this? This was a different kind of battle. This was personal.A door opened behind me.I turned instantly.A doctor stepped out, her expression unreadable in that profession

Adrian’s POV……….“Sophia, wait!”My voice ripped out of me as I lunged for the door. I was toolate. It slammed shut behind her with a finality that felt like a gunshot.I stood frozen for half a second, staring at the door like I could somehow rewind time if I just stared hard enough.God.I’d ruined everything.I turned sharply,my heart pounding, chest tight, lungs struggling to pull in air.Lily was still on the couch, crying so hard her entire body shook. Her hands clutched her stomach as if she was holding herself together by force alone.“Sophia—” she sobbed again.I ran a hand through my hair, pacing the room like a trapped animal.Think Adrian.Move.Fix this.I grabbed my jacket from the chair.I needed to go after her. Now. Before she disappeared completely. But then—A sharp gasp cut through the air.I turned around.Lily’s face had gone completely white. Not crying now.Pain.Real pain.“Adrian…” she whispered, as she looked down her legs and I followed her eyes. She wa
