FOUR.

Xavier's POV.

I stared at the empty bed, feeling my heart tighten in pain as I let out a sigh.

'I really hoped she would wait.' I thought as I exited the room and drove back home to meet Dad in the living room, working on his laptop, looking like a normal man instead of the terrifying Alpha I knew.

'Doesn't he have pack meetings to attend to?' I wondered in disbelief.

"Are you prepared for your resumption?" He asked and I nodded, taking a seat on the couch opposite him.

"Good. I wish you success." He smiled at me and I fought to return it, my head still filled with thoughts about Tulip.

'Did she run from me or regret what happened the previous night?' I pondered, digging my nails into my palm.

"I heard Damian didn't get in," Father said and I fought the urge not to roll my eyes.

That bastard. Well, it was for the best. He didn't deserve Nevermore, nor did he deserve Tulip, and this was all my fault.

Perhaps if I had confessed my feelings to her earlier, she wouldn't have dated that asshole, she wouldn't have hated me but love wasn't something I could easily confess.

Speaking of the devil, Damian walked in, his hands clenched into fists as he glared at me.

"What?" I asked, feeling irritated while Dad looked up from his phone.

"Oh! You are here." Dad said and I turned to look at him.

"You called him here?" I asked and he shook his head sideways.

"Of course not." He replied.

"Then why is he here, staring at me like that?" I questioned and Dad shrugged.

"You bastard!" Damian cursed as he picked up the vase on the table and threw it towards me. My dad's eyes widened as I jumped out of the way and it smashed into the wall.

"Damian, that's your aunt's favorite Vase," Dad yelled and Damian's expression tightened.

"Shut up, Old man." He snarled at Dad who looked taken aback. He said nothing, though, and I was sure if Damian wasn't family, his head would have been rolling on the floor now.

"You don't talk to my father that way," I warned him with a death stare, and he grinned.

"Or what?" He asked and I jumped at him, pushing him to the floor as I straddled him and began hurling punches at his face.

"You don't talk to my dad like that." I blew a tooth out, and he struggled to fight me, but I made sure I had the upper hand, till Dad pulled us away from one another.

"What is wrong with both of you? Why always fight when you are family?" Dad inquired as he handed Damian an ice pack to cool his swollen face.

"I am no family with a pig." I scoffed.

"Could say the same for me," Damian added, and I got up from the sofa, headed to the fridge, and got myself a canned drink.

"Uncle, ask your son why he screwed my mate! why he touched a girl I have not touched." Damian roared and my blood turned cold.

He knew about me and Tulip? But How? I was sure Tulip wouldn't tell him or was I wrong?

"Xavier, is that true?" Dad questioned, turning to look at me with disappointment flashing through his eyes.

"Of course it is, Malia saw them kissing at a club and trailed them to a hotel," Damian added and I giggled.

"She is as jobless as you are." I laughed and Dad frowned.

"So you did sleep with his girlfriend?" Dad asked and I nodded.

“Ex-girlfriend.” I snorted.

"You son of a bitch!" Damian tried jumping on me again but Dad stopped him.

"It's his fault. He cheated on the poor girl and she ended up at a bar, drunk." I explained and the fury in my Dad's eyes melted.

"She just did payback and trust me, it's not enough for the pain you have put her through," I growled, slamming the canned drink against his head and dashing up the stairs, ignoring my Dad's calls.

I jumped onto my bed and tried dialing her number to let her know that Damian already knew about us but I realized I had been blocked. I felt restless, likewise my wolf whom was dying to feel his mate one more time. I took a brief shower, went down the stairs to see Damian still talking with Dad.

Apparently, Dad let him know I got into Nevermore Sports Academy, but he didn't seem too happy about it since his application was rejected.

That was his pain. I left the house in a hurry and went to Tulip's dorm only to find out that she had packed all her things and another person was to move in.

I let out a weary sigh, knowing now that she was trying to avoid me but she couldn't. I also got accepted into Nevermore and this time, I wouldn't ever let her go again.

And now that I have seen her again, I yet again, let her escape me.

"What's up, bro?" My new friend, Jeremy slapped me on the back as we went out of the locker room.

"You seem distracted." He told me and I shook my head sideways.

It was Tulip messing with my head yet again.

"Just stressed." I lied, even though it wasn't exactly a lie. Training here, was hectic.

"Will you be able to hit the new club opening tonight?" He questioned, and I was about to say no, but I reasoned that it might be a good distraction.

"Why not?" I grinned as memories of my past hit me.

If it were not for the fact that I had to fulfill my Dad's wishes, I wouldn't be here, in this academy; I would be running my own Biker's Club now.

"By the way, I heard two new Alpha players are joining us with one more Coach." Jeremy wiped his sweaty face with a towel as we entered our dorm room.

That caught my attention.

"Why? I thought the trials and applications were closed." I told him and he shrugged.

"I thought the same too but I guess this set of people has connections," Jeremy smirked, and I collapsed onto my bed, feeling a sense of dread running through me for an unknown reason.

Who were they and what would they be like?

Later that night, we did hit the club. The loud music blared loudly, while girls flocked around us for attention, but that didn't grab me; it was seeing Tulip on another man's lap that did.

Before I could do anything, he caught my wrist.“Don’t you dare lay a hand on me,” he warned. “Don’t even think about it.”I went quiet.“I wouldn’t have interrupted whatever was going on here,” he continued casually, “if Aunt hadn’t sent me to ask what you wanted for dinner.”He laughed again. “Or do you honestly think I care that you’re in here with my ex fucking her?”“That’s enough of your nonsense,” I said sharply. “Get out.
