The door creaked open and Joshua walked in again. His face was no better than Sarah's. He had worries written all over his face.
"I guess you're ready?" Joshua said.
"Will Richard be ok, Joshua?" Sarah asked, ignoring his question.
"Let's hope he will," he answered. "You should be more concerned about leaving here alive. With luck and if Richard delivers on his promise, in few minutes time, we should be out of here. I shall be back when I received his call, just get ready," he said and left the room even before Sarah could say anything further.
Sarah was more confused than she thought she would ever be in her entire life as everything seemed beyond her control.
Two hours later, there was still no sight of Joshua nor Richard back from the mission. The large hall was unusually quiet. This meant that only Joshua a
"What do we do, Richard. Where do we go from here? Maybe, we should find a way of getting help or go back to the bungalow than wallowing..." "You make use of your mouth more than your brain, detective. Perhaps, if you allow your brain do it's work sometimes, you might bay a huge amount of nonsense from flowing out of your mouth," Richard snarled at Sarah who seemed tired of their endless wandering in the bush. "But we're in the middle of nowhere, Richard. I'm sure the wild animals will soon pay us a visit, that's if hunger dosen't kill us sooner," she grudgingly stopped walking. Richard didn't know what to do with a woman like sarah. He was never close to any woman and wondered if all women would be as useless as Sarah given the same situation or if she was specifically carved out to be clueless. He angrily turned to her and said through clenched teeth, &n
Sarah was still sleeping when Richard returned. "Where did you go this early?" She asked. "I couldn't wait until you start complaining before doing something. I figured out that I might not be able to convince you to eat squirrels again today so I decided to get these?" Sarah stared at the items he lay down and wondered how he came about them. "How did you manage to get these?" She asked. "A little thinking offers quicker solutions than talking would offer. Why don't you try it someday?" he asked sarcastic
Bangita Nation had been in its worst state for the past few days. Buildings were destroyed and so many people, burnt to ashes. The number of the maimed was increasing rapidly. The internally displaced people's camps were crowded with people who were displaced and those who knew they would be displaced sooner or later and ran for dear lives especially when food and security became a luxury that many could not afford. Due to the incessant influx of people in this camp, food and resources allocated to this quarter reduced in both quality and quantity every new day as the means to get more became very difficult. Hardship soon hit the people and the war didn't seem like it was coming to an end any soon. Many properties were lost. Even the camp eventually became a fierce battle ground as the helple
Frank released the last four bullets that forced the two remaining terrorists that had attacked the border dead. It was revealed that the terrorists were getting support from other countries and had planned to bring them into the country today for an attack. Frank went with some troops to the border, waged war on them and were able to stop them just in time. Pleased with the success of the troops in defending the territory, he was all smiles as he shook hands with Kelvin who was standing next to him. Frank turned around to celebrate with the rest of the men as they hugged one another. Just then, he caught sight of a lady standing on a small hill and thrusting a gun into her waist. "Sarah," he murmured as he walked up to her to confirm what he was seeing. &nb
"How exactly busy are we today, Richard?" Sarah said through the teeth as she trod behind Richard."Just as busy as this," Richard replied without looking back as he continued walking with long strides. This brought Sarah to a halt."I'm not just a toy that you can control at your wish. If you aren't telling me where we're headed to, you can as well go without me," Sarah said defiantly.Richard studied her for a moment before deciding that it was better to fight a battle with a drunk man than with thousands of women as they only think with their mouths and not their brains. He handed Sarah a paper that contained t
"I didn't know that you were in love, detective," Rev. Daniel said to Sarah. It happened that Sarah and Rev. Daniel knew each other and were very close friends. The relationship started after Sarah fearlessly and successfully investigated the murder of his cousin, bringing to book all the people that had their hands in the crime."The spice of love lies in its secrecy, father," Sarah carefully responded. " How have you been faring, father?" She asked, trying to change the topic. She couldn't bring herself to lie to him anymore."Thank God we're still alive," Rev. Daniel replied. "You're sure you have known each other well enough to form a union?" He asked, lo
"Will you be alright, Sarah?""You've nothing to worry about, Frank," Sarah replied."Then we head to the north," Frank led the troop up the hill to lay siege to the desert as squad 2 headed to the Southern side of the desert."Watch out!" Frank yelled out when he realized that they were under attack. Continuous shooting erupted and filled the air as the troop retaliated and shot back at them.Frank hurled a grenade to the far end of the desert where the shooting had erupted from and many of th
"What the heck were you doing there, you idiot! Why the dickens were you there?" Richard yelled as he furiously jammed the door. Sarah watched those angry eyes stare deep into hers, heat shimmering on his forehead. She was too weak now, so she sat on the bed and looked up at Richard."The same reason as yours, fighting," Sarah replied."You would have been killed, you scrag! I have always known that you're stupid but never seen the extent," Richard said through the teeth, his eyes blood-red."You don't expect me to cower in here while Frank and others are out there in great danger..."
