Aria's POV

“Keep that stance straight,” Hunter snapped, circling around me slowly with his sharp eyes watching me. “If your feet are off balance, you’ll be on the ground before you can blink.”

I adjusted my footing, with a small groan. I was sweating, even though the early morning air was cold. Hunter's training was ruthless.

“Better,” Hunter said coldly. “Now again. Faster this time.”

He lunged toward me without warning. I barely had time to react, sidestepping his attack to avoid being hit.

“Not bad,” he said, stepping back with a cold smirk. “At least you’re not as useless as I thought.”

I glared at him, wiping sweat from my forehead. “Gee, thank you for the confidence boost.”

Hunter chuckled darkly. “I’m not here to boost your confidence, Luna. I’m here to make sure you can survive.”

I rolled my shoulders, preparing myself for another attack. I was getting used to his words. “Survive what exactly? You?”

He paused, raising an eyebrow at me with an unreadable expression on his face.

Aria's POVSurprise surged through me at his words. “What?” I gaped stupidly. An amused look crossed his face, but it disappeared so fast that I thought that I had imagined it.“I am sorry for my sister’s behaviour,” he repeated, then he sighed. “Please don’t tell the alpha about it.” He said.I was getting so surprised and confused that I couldn’t hold in my surprise. “What is causing the sudden change of mind? Did you suddenly grow a conscience, and decide that I didn’t deserve all the unnecessary hate? Why are you suddenly so scared that I would tell the Alpha?” I spat as annoyance flickered through me.What was his end game? Why was he acting this way?Hunter released a sigh, and he placed his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants.“The Alpha has come such a long way to finally becoming the Alpha King. It wasn’t an easy task, and there are so many people that will love to see him go down. But that day hasn’t come, and I doubt it will ever come.” He started.“When I found out that

Aria's POVBefore I could even blink, Hunter threw a punch straight at my face. I barely dodged, stumbling back a few steps, almost losing my balance.“Too slow,” Hunter said, folding his arms. “Speed over strength, remember? You cannot win by overpowering anyone. Not with your build. You need to be faster, smarter—hit when they’re vulnerable and avoid attacks that’ll take you out in one shot.”I nodded, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. “Got it.”Hunter ran a hand through his hair. He wasn't even breathing heavily, or sweating. It wasn't fair. We had been training for hours, yet I was the only one looking like a mess.“We're done for today.” He said, glancing up at the sky that was getting brighter.I released a deep breath of relief, and relaxed my tense muscles.“Oh, thank the moon goddess.” I breathed, collapsing to my knees.Hunter stared down at me with an unimpressed look on his face.“Stop being dramatic.” He said flatly, handing me a water bottle.I took it from his h

Aria’s POV“Good morning, Alpha Blackwood, Luna Blackwood”“Good morning, Your Majesties.”“Good morning, Alpha, Luna.”The whole clinic was surprised to see Knox there. From their reactions, it was clear that Knox hadn’t been here in a very long time. The healers and patients in the clinic watched with wide eyes as Knox walked beside me. Some had fear in their eyes, some had awe in their eyes, while the rest were just curious.Knox walked calmly beside me like he didn’t notice any of this, even though I knew he did.“You look very good in those jeans,” I muttered softly, giving him a sideways glance.“Really?” he asked with amusement in his voice.I nodded. “Yes. Why haven’t I ever seen you in jeans before?” I asked, leading him through the hallway. He shrugged. “I prefer suits, they make people look sophisticated.”I glanced at him again. “You don’t need a suit to make you look sophisticated, Knox. You could be naked and still look sophisticated,” I replied.Knox paused, and he grab

Aria’s POVI walked to the training area with my heart pounding in anticipation. Hunter had told me yesterday that today’s session was going to be different. I was eager to see what was going to be different.Immediately I walked in, I was surprised to see two faces that I vaguely remembered. They were the muscular identical twins that had opened the large doors the day that Knox had announced me as the Luna Queen. I racked my brain, trying to remember their names. I knew they started with ‘X’, or was it ‘Z’.“Good morning, Your Majesty,” they both greeted in unison.“Good morning, Z... Zane, and Z... Zander? Right?” I asked, tilting my head, hoping I had gotten it right.Identical grins appeared across their faces, and they nodded eagerly. They looked pleased that I had remembered their names. “Yes, Luna.”“It’s so good to see you,” I said, with a warm smile on my face, as I shook their hands.I turned to Hunter, who stood there with his signature blank look on his face as he waited

Aria’s POV “You’re pregnant.” The moment the words left Hunter’s mouth, the training field felt deathly silent. Even the twins, who had been laughing moments ago, stiffened. I gulped. “I thought Knox told you.” Hunter’s nostrils flared again, and he clenched his fist. “No, he didn’t.” His voice was calm, but there was a sharp edge in his tone that made me know that he was anything but calm. My mind flashed back to my discussion with Knox about telling Hunter my pregnancy. I had made him trust me that I was going to tell Hunter myself, but honestly, I hadn’t wanted to tell Hunter just yet. I didn’t want him to go too easy on me, but it had later skipped my mind later on to tell him. Zane and Zander exchanged nervous glances before they stepped back with panic in their eyes, like people that had unknowingly committed a crime. “We didn’t know, Luna—” Hunter shot them a glare, and they went silent instantly. He turned to me with an accusing glare. “And you still trained this way?”

Aria’s POV I closed the door, my mind racing with several thoughts as I made my way to the chair beside his bed. “So, what is it, buddy?” I asked, placing my hand gently on his. Cole gave me a look, with a serious expression on his face. “I know what you did,” he said quietly. His words were unexpected, and my heart pounded as worry settled within me. What was he talking about? I furrowed my brows. “Cole? What are you talking about?” I asked. I placed the back of my hand on his forehead to check his temperature. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Cole gently removed my hand with a sigh that sounded far too mature for his age. “Yes, Luna. I’m perfectly fine, thanks to you.” He lifted his eyebrow with a pointed look in his eyes. ‘Busted,’ Jade whispered in my head. My eyes widened slightly as realization dawned on me. He was talking about the healing—what Jade had done through me. But I wasn’t about to admit it that easily. “Thanks to me?” I repeated, feigning confusion. “Cole, what ar

Aria’s POV The man was barely conscious, and from what I could see. He was barely holding on. Cole’s words echoed in my head. “Think about how many people you could help.” I ran a hand through my hair as my mind raced with several thoughts. Could I really do this? I shook my head, and forced myself to continue walking. No, I was just getting ahead of myself. I couldn’t go around healing people. ‘These are not just people,’ Jade murmured in my head. ‘Some are fathers, mothers, children, and most importantly, they are your pack members.’ I paused with a frown on my face, genuinely surprised. “Woah, when did you suddenly grow a conscience, Jade?” I asked, glancing around to make sure no one saw me talking to myself. Jade chuckled sarcastically, ‘Oh please, I’m just trying to convince you to think about healing people.’ She admitted. I furrowed my eyebrows in curiosity. “Why?” ‘Why else? Because I want to get better at it.’ Jade replied. I released a small chuckle. “I should h

Aria’s POVAs I got to the secret room inside Knox’s room, I frowned. Knox wasn’t here yet, even though I was ten minutes late. He had better not cancel today’s meeting like he did yesterday. I thought to myself with a scowl.I folded my arms as I tapped my foot impatiently, staring at the door, waiting for Knox to walk through it. However, after I waited for an extra ten minutes, I lost patience. I released a groan of annoyance. Knox must be trying to avoid this meeting. I wasn’t going to accept that.I stormed to the door, ready to search for Knox, to drag him over here for the meeting. However, the door opened as I reached it, and Knox walked in with a sheepish smile on his face.“Hey, I’m very sorry that I’m late.” Knox apologized, leaning forward to place a kiss on my lips, but I turned my head, and he kissed my cheeks instead.Knox cringed slightly, “I’m sorry, my little angel. Knox's POVIt was the worst feeling ever. That feeling of losing control, while you watch yourself doing pure evil.I could still feel it, the feeling of her flesh against my claws, and the warmth of her blood. I could still feel the horror in my bones when I realized it was her. Aria. My mate. My everything. And I hurt her.Fenrir roared inside me in pain, just as shattered and broken as I was. We were both drowning in guilt and rage. Rage at ourselves for what we had done to our mate. So we turned that rage outward. We tore through the vampires like savages, allowing our rage to take over as we decimated them. It was easier to rip them apart than face what we had done. It was easier to destroy them than think about the way Aria had cried out in pain because of us.No matter how much I tried to think, I didn’t know how it happened. One moment, we were all over each other, lost in passion. I was about to mark her. My fangs were hovering just above her skin…And then something snapped.

How?I clutched my belly tightly, as I struggled to breathe. My throat burned as I took in air.‘Please,’ I prayed silently to the moon goddess, ‘Please let my baby be okay. Please.’The vampire tilted his head, looking almost thoughtful as he glanced between Cornelius and I, then he nodded and released Cornelius.“Yes,” the vampire said smoothly, with a deep, cool voice, “Yes, you did everything.”My vision was turning dark. I was losing consciousness, no matter how much I fought to stay awake.Cornelius sighed in relief, holding his throat. He opened his mouth to speak, but the vampire raised a hand fluidly, cutting him off.“But you also did what you weren't told to.” The vampire added.Cornelius gaped. “Wha—”“Lord Vi

My baby.I braced for the pain, wishing I could tell Knox that I loved him no matter what. But the pain never came.Instead, a loud crash echoed through the hall as something massive slammed into the vampire with brutal force, throwing him against the wall so hard it cracked.I blinked in shock as the vampire released a cry of pain, with fear in his eyes.A creature with black fur and dancing shadows around its fur stood between me and the vampire with crimson eyes that were so familiar that my eyes welled up with tears.Fenrir.He released a deep growl. Everything would be fine.Suddenly, a loud boom echoed through the halls, followed by screaming. The floor trembled under me.What the hell?My heartbeat increased in panic. I limped faster. Then I heard the sounds of growls, snarls, and more screams. They were getting closer now.My breath hitched as I perceived a scent that I had never smelled before, but I knew what it was. Blood. Death. Vampires.A door nearby slammed open, and a young pack member burst out, her eyes wide with terror. She came to a stop the moment she saw me.“L-Luna!” she gasped, rushing toward me.I tried to wave her off, but she reached for me anyway to steady me. “You’re bleeding so much, we need to—”“There’s no time,” I rasped, holding her arm. “You need to run. Huh?! With what, exactly?! Jade groaned. “Please kill me.”I took another step towards Knox, then another. My body felt weak from the blood loss, but I didn't stop.Knox was still on his knees, groaning, and shaking violently. His eyes were still changing colours as he fought for control. The black veins were stretched throughout this body now.“Knox,” I whispered. No response

They were not the shade of red that I was familiar with. It was like an odd mixture of dark red and black.“F..Fen..Fenrir?”He released a menacing growl, and lifted his hand. I gasped in horror as I watched his hands and fingers change into claws.I quickly brought my knee up, successfully slamming it between his legs.Knox cried out in pain, and I used that split second to scramble out from beneath him, shifting to the other end of the bed.He recovered fast, snarling at me with pure hatred. I watched his canines elongate, and saliva dripped down his mouth.“K…K-Knox?” I stammered again even though I knew that it wasn’t Knox looking back at me, or even Fenrir. That thing was not my mate.‘Mate,’ Rhea's voice whimpered in my head, but I ignored it. I needed to focus, to get out of here alive.I kept my eyes on him. He was st

I had also remembered, but there had been so many things coming up that had stopped me from asking him about it.“Because I was scared. I felt like I would be tying you down, when you didn’t really know the kind of person I really was. It was almost impossible to control the wide grin on my face as I hummed in bliss.“Can you stop doing that?” Knox asked with exasperation in his voice. My grin widened. “I can’t help it! My plan worked more than I actually expected it to!” I exclaimed.Knox let out a sigh of exasperation, but his lips twitched slightly.“Come on, don’t tell me that you’re not happy about what happened out there!” I threw my hands up, almost smacking Knox’s face.He gently pushed my hand away, “It's not a big deal, Aria.”I gaped, my eyes widened in disbelief. “Not a big deal?! Seriously?! Not only did the children get comfortable with you, but did you see the look on their parents’ faces when they saw you seated on the ground, playing chess with their children?”He shrugged, trying to look nonchalant, but I knew it was just an act. After our discussion in his office about Viktor and his mate, Knox had been tense and distant.

His nod was so stiff that it looked painful.I rolled my eyes. “And maybe try smiling?”Knox scoffed. “I don’t feel like smiling at people, Aria.”“Well, you have to.”Another pack member greeted us. I smiled as I replied in greeting. Knox lifted his lips slightly. It looked less like a smile and more like a grimace.I blinked. “What was that?”“A smile,” he said flatly.I stared at him, then shook my head. “No, that was terrifying.”He shrugged. “That’s the best I can do.”I groaned in exasperation. “You’re hopeless.”He smirked, clearly pleased with himself for
