Dorian had Eva's number for a week before he finally found the nerve to use it.

Chelsea had slipped it to him casually, like it wasn't a golden key to a locked door he'd been standing outside of for years. She got it from Leeann during one of their many flirty exchanges, and Dorian had stared at the digits in his phone as his thumb hovered over the screen countless times.

But as fate would have it, business called, pulling him out of town before he could act on it. It gave him time to overthink.

When he finally did message her, he was flying just over the interstate in his private jet cutting through clouds with a storm of nerves in his gut.

"Hi, this is your secret admirer?" he typed, then immediately deleted it.

Too creepy.

He tried again.

"Hi, how are you?"

This was simple and safe, but also lame. He still hit send.

Twenty agonizing minutes passed. He was staring out the window, seeing if he could find shapes in the clouds when his phone chimed. The sound alone made his stomach fl

Dorian's heart fluttered in his chest when Eva stood. She then accidentally bumped into him, and it felt like déjà vu. He caught her before she fell backward."Are you alright, beautiful?" His voice came off smooth and manly."Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for catching me, and sorry for bumping into you," Eva apologized.Dorian knew it was her. Eva. She wore the same perfume after all these years, plus her voice was the same, but more confident and way sexier."It's my pleasure, Holly," Dorian replied with a mischievous smirk. "Or should I say Eva," he smiled. He then slowly removed his mask."Flint," Eva gasped as she held her chest. She couldn't believe he recognized her.He looked even better than she remembered. Tall, sharp-jawed, with dark curls and a half-smile that sent warmth straight through her."It's actually Dorian," he told her. "Dorian Rhodes.""My Dorian? I mean the person I've been talking to over the phone? You're the owner of Rhodes Enterprise?" she questioned."Yes, yes,

Eva and Leeann were excited about the new project. They had reviewed Mark's budget, which was quite impressive, and had begun gathering the necessary items for the job.Mark, however, was still unsure about the kitchen setup, so they were continuing discussions on how he wanted it to be."Mr. Davis, I've already ordered the tiles and fixtures for the grand ballroom," Eva informed him as she scribbled something on her device. They were seated in Mark's office, with Eva and Leeann side by side and Mark facing them."That's wonderful, and please, call me Mark," he said, flashing his award-winning smile that lingered a bit too long.Eva was beginning to see what Leeann had meant when she said Mr. Davis was checking her out. She had brushed it off before, but now... she wasn't so sure.Out of politeness, she returned his smile. "I remember what you said about the ballroom and the kitchen, so those will be the main focus for now.""Great. Remember, my birthday is coming up in a month, and I

  • A Night With The Drugged Billionaire   20: Davis Corporation

Eva couldn't stop thinking about Flint. She couldn't believe that after such an amazing night, he didn't even remember her. Even though it was many years ago, she'd hoped that he would at least recognize her.She knew in her heart that one day they would come face to face again and that she would have to face reality, a reality that had been haunting her for five years, one that she had to be in the right state of mind to face. But for now, she wasn't ready."Are we going for ice cream after school?" the little voice asked from the back seat of the car."I don't think so, Elijah. I have a lot of stuff to do today," Eva answered as she looked at her son through the rearview mirror.Even though he spoke, his eyes were glued to the screen of his tablet."Then, can we get ice cream now?" He looked up from his tablet."Before school?" she questioned curiously. "You know that's a no-no," she finished. She saw the look on his face and knew that he was sad."But tell you what," Eva began, try

  • A Night With The Drugged Billionaire   19: H&S Designs

Dorian was busy trying to get an interior designer to come and work for him. He was still upset about the fact that Evalux declined his interview and the opportunity to work with him.He scrolled through the list of potential employees he had lined up, but was still not all that impressed. He decided that he was going to work with the blonde he had interviewed a week ago, so he called her up."Good morning, this is Dorian Rhodes from Rhodes Enterprises," he introduced himself after the woman on the other end answered."Mr. Rhodes, it's wonderful to hear from you. It’s Natalie Hill, the manager of H&S Designs. How can I help you?" she said cheerily."Miss Hill, I'm calling to let you know that we would like to use your design company to help us with our new building.""Oh my gosh," Miss Hill said excitedly over the phone. "It will be our absolute pleasure to work with you, Mr. Rhodes.""I've drawn up the contract and would like for you to come in and sign it. When will you be available

  • A Night With The Drugged Billionaire   18: Holly & Flint Meets Again

Dorian never believed in fate, until she bumped into him. The music was low, pulsing in sync with the neon lights that painted the corners of the bar in deep shades of violet and scarlet. He barely caught a glimpse of her before her body pressed into his. A soft, startled gasp left her lips, her hand flat against his chest to steady herself. He inhaled sharply. Vanilla. Cashmere. Time folded in on itself. That scent had haunted his memory for years. A stolen night lit by the haze of moonlight and liquor, a motel room in a small town neither of them belonged to, a woman who called herself Holly and touched him like she meant it. She'd saved him that night, literally pulled him out of a fog after he'd been drugged and robbed. She had vanished by morning, leaving behind only her scent in the sheets, a fake name and money and a note. He'd looked for her. Tried every lead, every memory, even dug into the motel surveillance footage, but most of them didn’t work, so he thought she was g

Dorian sat at his desk, tapping a golden pen against a thick stack of papers he'd printed for the interview. He couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that someone could turn down Rhodes Enterprise. The it company. The one everyone in the industry was desperate to be part of.A knock echoed on the office door.He didn't answer. The knock came again, firmer this time. Dorian finally glanced toward the door."Everything okay, boss?" Chelsea asked, poking her head inside, her brow slightly raised."Did you get a call from the people at Evalux? About rescheduling?""I'm afraid not, sir," she said, stepping in cautiously. "I'm sure they had a good reason for not showing.""Check the emails. Maybe they sent something.""Right away," she said, already opening her laptop. She combed through both her personal inbox and the company's. It wasn't long before her eyes narrowed in on a message."They replied," she said slowly, her expression falling. "I'm sorry, sir. They declined our offer."Doria

  • A Night With The Drugged Billionaire   16: Door From The Past

Eva rolled her neck slowly, trying to ease the tension that had taken residence in her shoulders. Her body ached from another long night of working late, but she pressed on. Her ankles hurt as her heels slid across the polished floor as she made her way to her office. It had been two weeks since she returned to New York, and although this city was home, slipping back into its chaos was anything but smooth.Between catching up with old contacts, establishing her brand's presence, and running her design firm, Evalux, every day had felt like sprinting uphill. Yet none of that compared to the emotional weight she carried, one that hadn't faded in five years. That night still haunted her. The way Daniel humiliated her in front of everyone, the way her reputation crumbled like stale bread under his cruelty. She had lost everything. Her marriage, her dignity, and her confidence in a single, ruthless evening. And yet, in her lowest moment, when she could barely recognize the woman in the mir
