"Scarlet's point of view,"
"Samuel Oscar, what do you want?
How dare you treat me like this!" As soon as I walked into his office, I confronted him with my rage."Oh, Miss Neve, how did you get here? Have you got any crucial work to do with me?" He took the file off his face and grinned evilly while turning to face me.
"Stop acting like a fool; you know why I've come here."
Before this, I did not know that Samuel Oscar was such a terrible and shallow man; I had only ever heard praise for him in the media. However, his behavior toward me has shown the diabolical nature that lurks beneath his seemingly sweet exterior."Okay, Miss Neve, I like girls like you who don't overthink things and speak with clarity." He stood up from his chair and walked over to me.
"I want to marry you and have my child with you.""I already declined your offer; why didn't you get my point right away?" I moved back to get away from him.
"Well, I get what you're saying completely, but this time you came to me rather than me to you."
My body was shaking as I heard his frightful voice and saw his demonic facial expression.
I had no notion that this man had such a hideous visage."I didn't choose to come to you, but it forced me to, since I had nowhere else to turn. I didn't even want to beg for your help." I reacted while fidgeting with my fingers.
"Oh, so Miss Scarlett Neve needs help with the father of her unborn child. Well, let me know what you need this time from me." He raised his eyebrows and questioned.
"My mother.
The doctor has refused to treat my mother as per your directive. My mother could pass away if she didn't receive treatment promptly." I restrained myself from crying."Oh, I see you asked me to help your sick mom." He folded his legs and sat down on the couch in the office corner.
"Samuel, whatever grievances you have, they are from me. What has my mother done to you?" I cast a hopeful gaze his way.
He paused and placed his fingers on his chin as he replied, "You're completely right; I don't have any animosity with your mother. However, you offended me by saying,"No," and you had to pay the price for that."
"There is just one hospital in this city where a specialized team of doctors is available to treat heart patients, so Samuel, I'm sorry for my error. Please make a call to the hospital and ask the doctor not to refuse to treat my mother."
I can not transfer my mom to another hospital. Samuel Oscar is a powerful business owner in this city and throughout the nation means that if he can use his influence to stop my mother's treatment in this city, he will undoubtedly prevent her from receiving care in any other city as well. I have to apologize to Samuel and stroke his ego.
"Miss Neve, I promise to help you since I'm not a horrible person, but in exchange, you must accept responsibility for your actions, enter a contract marriage with me, and give birth to my child." He said this while turning the paperweight that was on the table.
"I'm sorry, but I can't. You are my friend's lover, so I can't betray her by getting married to you."
"Really?
Why did you come to my room that night if you cared so much about your friend?" He violently slammed the paperweight to the ground."Mr. Oscar, because of a simple misunderstanding, I accidentally entered your room that evening, and you punished me for it." I reacted by patting my belly.
"Scarlett, I wish to make amends for my error." I had no idea why his voice suddenly became soft.
"You want to deceive Clara by marrying me, even though she loves you." He has already given me no choice but to acknowledge his condition. I still want to exert one last effort on my part, hoping he may change his mind upon hearing Clara's name.
"After that night, I broke up with Clara, and we no longer have a relationship."
"What?" With bewilderment in my eyes, I stared at him.
"Scarlett, although I know I'm approaching you incorrectly, I genuinely want to adopt this child. Please accept my proposal."
"However, I don't love you." He only deserves my wrath after what he did to me, but right now, the way he is attempting to welcome this child in front of me is changing my feelings for him.
There is something magical in his eyes. I get the impression from what he is saying that he is genuinely worried about this child.
So should I accept the proposal and get married to him? But I'll betray my friend if I do that. Yet it's all Clara's fault.I must marry Samuel Oscar. After all, there's nothing to lose if I marry him.
If I consent to marry Samuel Oscar, my child will receive his name, and my mother's care won't be interfered with. Afterward, I only had to be his wife for a year until we formally divorced. For me, it is not a lose-lose situation. But how can I spend a year with someone I despise? But I must do it for the sake of my mother and my unborn child."Scarlett, what did you ultimately decide?" His curious eyes were focusing on my face.
"Okay, I accept your proposal and am ready to marry you." I inhaled deeply and attempted to control the internal conflict.
"Here is the agreement that we made, and please meet me at the church at 11 o'clock sharp tomorrow morning." He handed me a file right away after pulling it out of the table's side drawer.
I took the file from his grasp, carefully reviewed the documents, and then signed them before giving it back to him.
"Scarlett Neve, welcome to the realm of Samuel Oscar."
He responded with a cryptic smile after noticing my signature on the paper. As I looked into his eyes, I wondered if his smile was genuine delight or if I had made a hasty, disastrous decision about my life.
"Scarlett's point of view,"I have agreed to marry a man who I hardly even know, giving in to my compulsions. I've either read about Samuel Oscar in business magazines or heard about him on television news programs. Clara never provided me with any precise details regarding Samuel. I feel as though my life is a nightmare in which I keep tumbling down a deep well yet cannot shout because I can't raise my voice high enough. I returned to the hospital and went to my mother's room. However, my mother was not in that room; instead, a different patient was lying on that bed. Where did my mother suddenly vanish? Have the staff members at the hospital discharged my mother? But after agreeing to all of Samuel's demands, why has Samuel interfered with my mother's medical care? "We have moved your mom to the VIP room, Miss Neve.""What?" My mother's nurse told me as I was on my way to ask about my mother at the hospital reception. They moved my mother to a VIP room, but why? "Even the hos
"Scarlett's point of view,"The repeated alarms jolted me awake. Today is the big day—my wedding. Like most women, I had many fantasies about my future husband. Alas, fate had other plans for me, and I shall be married to a devil instead of a prince. Do you still have the same perspective on him? My subconscious begs me to overlook Samuel's prior transgression of his recent good deeds, but my heart is in no way prepared to do so. For the sake of my mother and my unborn child, I am getting married to him. Again, I reaffirmed my purpose in my mind. But what if you developed feelings for him after getting married? Samuel Oscar looks unmistakably like a Greek god. In front of him, a flurry of female bodies is always in motion. He can hypnotize any female with just one look. But it has been challenging for me to feel affection for him after the horrible form I saw him in that evening. "Miss Neve, good morning." My phone's display flashed an unknown number. I struggled to say good mo
"Scarlett's point of view,""Scarlett, what makes you stare at me so strangely?" Seeing me, the woman inquired. "How are you here?"What this woman is doing in this place is still a mystery to me. "Oh, Scarlett, that's my mother." Samuel spoke in a low voice as he drew near to my ear. "What?" His statements caught me off guard. What have I done, oh no? How am I so careless? I had told all the things of my heart, considering that woman a stranger, but this woman is actually Samuel's mother. "Sorry, Aunty, I didn't recognize you." To conceal my shame, I closed my eyes. "Scarlett, no worries." While embracing me, the woman said. "You can still share all your secrets with me as a friend because my son is unaware of the talk we had that day." She whispered into my ear. "What?" I gave that woman another confused glance. "Scarlett, please call me Mom instead of Aunty;" I can tell that woman is only pretending to be happy. It filled her eyes with many questions, as I could see. "Mo
"Scarlett's point of view,""Good morning, Scarlett. How are you? We haven't spoken in a while." It caught me off guard when Clara appeared in front of me. And the longer I watched, the more shocked I became at what she was doing in Samuel's lap. What is she doing in Samuel's lap if she congratulates us on our marriage like other guests have? No, this is not possible. I must be dreaming, I guess. Samuel told me that he and Clara are no longer dating, so I don't understand their seeming closeness. Did Samuel mislead me? I regarded him with skepticism. Upon seeing him, I had the impression that he was not at all concerned by my presence. He was curled up in a comfortable position, his head resting on Clara's neck. "Honey, your new wife just walked in the door, and she wants to join you for breakfast." Running her fingers through his hair, Clara whispered, "I have no desire to converse with this girl. You instruct her to leave this part of the house." While nibbling on Clara's nec
"Samuel's point of view,""Samantha, please serve breakfast to Madam." She lingered with her bag back to the hallway. "I'll prepare my morning meal." She gave Samantha the go-ahead to enter the kitchen. I am not at all interested in dealing with this girl's temper tantrum, but I am compelled to due to the condition of my mother. I didn't want to see Scarlett's face after that night, but because of my mother's terms, I had to not only propose to her, but also marry her and bring her into this house with me. Since she entered the house, I have felt suffocated. I had to make up many falsehoods to marry her, including the one about my fictitious separation from Clara. I had to present a convincing and false front to her mother. I had to resort to coercion to convince her after she refused my marriage proposal outright. Besides my mother's terms, I had another reason to marry her. She tore up the contract in front of me and tossed it into bits after initially rejecting my proposal. I m
"Scarlett's point of view,""Madam, are you all right?" I was sitting alone in my room, crying, when Samantha opened the door to my room. "Yes, I'm fine." I responded while blotting my eyes. "You don't need to act fake in front of me, Madam; I am well aware of your heart issue. My husband has abandoned me for another woman." There was a flash of pain in her eyes. Although I have no objection to Samuel and Clara cohabiting, I am concerned about his poor attitude. These people have accused me of things I haven't done. When he wrenched my hand, tears started to spring up in my eyes, but I immediately understood that I couldn't show vulnerability in front of him. He is already aware of one of my weaknesses; if I start to fear his torture, he will undoubtedly continue to bother me. No, I won't allow this to happen. He's trying to bother me since I do all the housework by myself, but I don't care; in fact, I was pleased to see his irritated expression when I didn't respond to his comm
"Samuel's point of view,""What's taking so long to make dinner? I'm starving." As soon as I got home and showered, I made my way straight to the dining room. Even though I know the meal isn't going to be ready since it's just 7 o'clock and I usually eat around 9:30, I figure it's an excellent excuse to annoy Scarlett. "Sir, you generally have dinner after 9 p.m., so why are you eating so early today?" Upon emerging from the kitchen, Samantha posed a query to me. "Why can't I eat dinner early at home?" Samantha's habit of asking leading questions drives me crazy, and I often consider firing her because of it. Yet she has been my maid for a long time, and I trust her, so I usually just let it go. What if I offer Samantha a short vacation? I questioned my subconscious. This maid prevents me from adequately punishing Scarlett. But if Samantha departs, Scarlett will be left to do all the household chores by herself. Yes, I desire the same thing. However, in addition to harming her,
"Scarlett's point of view,"What happened to all the food I cooked? After I had cleaned up from throwing up, I went back into the kitchen and helped myself to some fruit from the refrigerator. How come all the utensils are empty when I kept all the food in the refrigerator by myself? I overheard Clara on the phone, and she's not coming home tonight. And Samuel consumed oats for dinner, so where did the rest of the food go? Samantha and the other housekeepers prepare their meals. Then the question arises: Where did the good food disappear from the fridge? I put a lot of effort into making the food. Due to pregnancy, I do not enjoy smelling eggs at all. However, I still had to prepare Samuel's egg curry. I already knew about Samuel's weekly supper menu, thanks to Samantha. I must thus make dinner following the menu card. I don't want to give him any more chances to disrespect me. I learned one thing about him quite clearly while reading his preferred menu card: he is highly health
