My compulsion

"Scarlet's point of view,"

"Samuel Oscar, what do you want?

How dare you treat me like this!"

As soon as I walked into his office, I confronted him with my rage.

"Oh, Miss Neve, how did you get here? Have you got any crucial work to do with me?" He took the file off his face and grinned evilly while turning to face me.

"Stop acting like a fool; you know why I've come here."

Before this, I did not know that Samuel Oscar was such a terrible and shallow man; I had only ever heard praise for him in the media. However, his behavior toward me has shown the diabolical nature that lurks beneath his seemingly sweet exterior.

"Okay, Miss Neve, I like girls like you who don't overthink things and speak with clarity." He stood up from his chair and walked over to me.

"I want to marry you and have my child with you."

"I already declined your offer; why didn't you get my point right away?" I moved back to get away from him.

"Well, I get what you're saying completely, but this time you came to me rather than me to you."

My body was shaking as I heard his frightful voice and saw his demonic facial expression.

I had no notion that this man had such a hideous visage.

"I didn't choose to come to you, but it forced me to, since I had nowhere else to turn. I didn't even want to beg for your help." I reacted while fidgeting with my fingers.

"Oh, so Miss Scarlett Neve needs help with the father of her unborn child. Well, let me know what you need this time from me." He raised his eyebrows and questioned.

"My mother.

The doctor has refused to treat my mother as per your directive. My mother could pass away if she didn't receive treatment promptly." I restrained myself from crying.

"Oh, I see you asked me to help your sick mom." He folded his legs and sat down on the couch in the office corner.

"Samuel, whatever grievances you have, they are from me. What has my mother done to you?" I cast a hopeful gaze his way.

He paused and placed his fingers on his chin as he replied, "You're completely right; I don't have any animosity with your mother. However, you offended me by saying,"No," and you had to pay the price for that."

"There is just one hospital in this city where a specialized team of doctors is available to treat heart patients, so Samuel, I'm sorry for my error. Please make a call to the hospital and ask the doctor not to refuse to treat my mother."

I can not transfer my mom to another hospital. Samuel Oscar is a powerful business owner in this city and throughout the nation means that if he can use his influence to stop my mother's treatment in this city, he will undoubtedly prevent her from receiving care in any other city as well. I have to apologize to Samuel and stroke his ego.

"Miss Neve, I promise to help you since I'm not a horrible person, but in exchange, you must accept responsibility for your actions, enter a contract marriage with me, and give birth to my child." He said this while turning the paperweight that was on the table.

"I'm sorry, but I can't. You are my friend's lover, so I can't betray her by getting married to you."

"Really?

Why did you come to my room that night if you cared so much about your friend?" He violently slammed the paperweight to the ground.

"Mr. Oscar, because of a simple misunderstanding, I accidentally entered your room that evening, and you punished me for it." I reacted by patting my belly.

"Scarlett, I wish to make amends for my error." I had no idea why his voice suddenly became soft.

"You want to deceive Clara by marrying me, even though she loves you." He has already given me no choice but to acknowledge his condition. I still want to exert one last effort on my part, hoping he may change his mind upon hearing Clara's name.

"After that night, I broke up with Clara, and we no longer have a relationship."

"What?" With bewilderment in my eyes, I stared at him.

"Scarlett, although I know I'm approaching you incorrectly, I genuinely want to adopt this child. Please accept my proposal."

"However, I don't love you." He only deserves my wrath after what he did to me, but right now, the way he is attempting to welcome this child in front of me is changing my feelings for him.

There is something magical in his eyes. I get the impression from what he is saying that he is genuinely worried about this child.

So should I accept the proposal and get married to him?

But I'll betray my friend if I do that.

Yet it's all Clara's fault.

I must marry Samuel Oscar. After all, there's nothing to lose if I marry him.

If I consent to marry Samuel Oscar, my child will receive his name, and my mother's care won't be interfered with. Afterward, I only had to be his wife for a year until we formally divorced.

For me, it is not a lose-lose situation.

But how can I spend a year with someone I despise? But I must do it for the sake of my mother and my unborn child.

"Scarlett, what did you ultimately decide?" His curious eyes were focusing on my face.

"Okay, I accept your proposal and am ready to marry you." I inhaled deeply and attempted to control the internal conflict.

"Here is the agreement that we made, and please meet me at the church at 11 o'clock sharp tomorrow morning." He handed me a file right away after pulling it out of the table's side drawer.

I took the file from his grasp, carefully reviewed the documents, and then signed them before giving it back to him.

"Scarlett Neve, welcome to the realm of Samuel Oscar."

He responded with a cryptic smile after noticing my signature on the paper.

As I looked into his eyes, I wondered if his smile was genuine delight or if I had made a hasty, disastrous decision about my life.
