As Cailen sat on his bed, he couldn't help but wonder if Asher was okay.
He seemed pretty upset when he left and it wasn't like him to make excuses to not hang out with them. He didn't know what was going on between him and William. Maybe William knew something Cailen didn't or maybe William thought there was something to know, just like he thought there was with him, but he really had no idea.
Cailen didn't understand why William was trying to interfere the way he was. He didn't understand why Matthew and Noah were trying to help him either.
There was a lot he didn't understand right now but he really only had one concern at the moment.
Digging into his pocket, Cailen pulled out his phone and opened the messenger app, scrolling to Asher's name and typing out a quick message to see if he was okay.
He only hesitated for a second when he thought that maybe Asher was u
"Is this...""I could only find two people with the same name that lived here the year you were born. They've both moved, though I'm not sure if those are current addresses or not,"Edenexplained, taking a seat beside Cailen."If you know how old she is, then we'll be able to tell which is her,"she went on,but he was still stuck on the fact that he had her information in front of him.One of these people was his biological mother. He could possibly go talk to his biological mother."She was fifteen when she had me,"Cailenmumbled, still a little shocked.Edenthought for a moment as he stared down at the paper.ArabellaRavenCosswas born May 23rd, 1971 and now lived in Doughnel, or at least that was her last known address. ArabellaFreya Cosswas born February 16th, 1976 and her last known address was in Hamdover. There wasn't any other information
"...Clingy, you know?" Cailenheard Asher's voice come into earshot as he descended the staircase.Noahmust have called him over when he was in the shower. He wasn't planning on eavesdropping, he was planning on going right in but then he heard his name and he just kind of stopped outside the kitchen."Caiwon't- I mean, like- I don't know,"Ashersighed and even though he couldn't see him or who he was talking to, he could imagine Ashershaking his head in frustration. "No one likes clingy, Wil,"Ashercontinued. He wasn't sure what was worse. The fact that Asherwas talking about him behind his back or that he was talking to Williamabout him behind his back."True... Maybe just distance yourself?" Williamsuggested.Cailencould feel something bubbling inside him, though he couldn't put a name onit.Betrayal, maybe. Hurt could definitelybe used t
"Caileeenn!" Ashersaid, dragging out his name and ending it in a chuckle. The girlhuffed and snatched her hand away, spinning around and stumbling over to another bloke leaning against the wall. At least he didn't have to feel too bad about shooting her down.Asheradjusted himself on the couch, flipping so he was on his back with his head in Cailen'slap. There was something off about him. There was a flush in his cheeks and his pupils were blown out. He had a dopey grin on his face and his movements were sloppy. If he didn't know any better,he'd say Asherwas drunk but he did know better so he was slightly confused."Caileeenn," Ashersaid again. Only this time,it was more of a whine."Yes?" he asked, smiling fondly down at the boywhose head ison his lap.He wasn't able to help himself. Asherwas adorable like this-all giddy and cuddly. It's not
"Yeah, yeah, I know. But you gotta let me go so I can get in,"Cailenexplainedand pacified Asher, pulling himself awayand Asher's arms dropping to his side with a small pout.Asherpouted for as long as it took him to circle the truck and hop into the driver's seat. When he was buckled in,Asherrolled his head to the side, smiling at him who returned it because he couldn't not return it.Asher reached for his hand, flippedit andthread their fingers together whilejust continuouslysmilingat him.Cailenfelt the heat rushing to his cheeks and was a little confused as to what was going on. But then he realized Asherhimself probably didn't know what was going on so he just went with it, squeezing Asher's hand and sending him a smile before starting up the truck and pulling away from the curb. The drive wasn't long but Asherseemed to grow bored and started f
For a moment,Cailenjust got caught up in the kiss, like he normally did around Asher. He just wasn't able to think clearly around the guy and really, that just wasn't fair. It wasn't fair because that made it harder for him to act the way he was supposed to act and it made people suspicious. He knew what he was doing was a bad idea. He knew the second he kissed Asherback,he had just blown his whole act to bits.He knew he could have just pushed Asheraway, pretend to be upset or even just laugh it off as a drunken mistake. But he didn't. He should have, but he didn't.He didn't because he wanted this. He wanted this more than he knew and now that he was getting it, he wasn't going to push it away.Of course he wasn't thinking with his brain. He was thinking on instinct and instinct was telling him to kiss Asherback,so he did.He did and he earned the most wonderful sound fro
"'M so happy, Cai,"Ashermumbled sleepily.Cailensmiled down at him eventhough his eyes were shut. It just made him happy to hear Asherwas happy, especially in the current situation.“I was so anxious that you might’ve noticed and call me clingy, but I can’t stop myself.” Cailen remembered the conversation that he heard between Asher and William. So it was about that,he thought. But Cailen'ssmile fell whenhe realized the implication of what Asher said and when he continued, his words mumbled and trailing off as he fell asleep."I can't wait to tell the boys,"was what he said right before he fell asleep.Cailenfroze in his spot, his eyes going wide as he stared down at a sleeping Asher.Tell the boys? Did William know? They couldn't tell the boys, they couldn't tell anyone. That couldn't happen. That- This couldn't happen. Wh
He just kept walking down the driveway and down the sidewalk. He didn't know where he was going. He didn't have a plan.He could go back to Uni, his tuition and everything was already paid for and it was non-refundable so Edenand Deanwouldn't get the money back anyway, but the thought of going back there felt wrong. It felt like he wasn't really leaving and he needed to.He needed to leave and be done with it or it would end up hurting everyone even more.Hejustknew he couldn't stay there. He had fucked up royally and now he was paying for it.So for now,he would just walk around until he knew what to do.He didn't know how long that would be but he was thankful that the weather wasn't being a cliché right now with pouring rain and thunder. No, it was actually a nice night, a slight breeze that would have given him a slight chill if it weren't for the jumper he had grabb
Cailensat at the bus station, his ticket held firmly in his hand that rested on his knee. His leg was jiggling up and down, the events of the night not allowing him to sit still. His nerves were at an all-time high at the moment. He couldn't believe he was doing this. Most of all,he couldn't believe he was doing this tonight. He figured that he might as well pile all his biggest problems on at once. At least that way,he could deal with them all at once rather than get over one only to have the other blow up in his face. That was the only reason he could think of as to why he had just bought a ticket to Hamdover. So he could randomly just show up at her doorstep and say 'Hey, I'm the son you dumped on the doorstep of an orphanage! Do you remember me?'.He wasn't thinking, obviously. It seemed to be the theme tonight so he decided to just roll with it. He knew this would have to be done anyway. He knew he
