CHAPTER 1

"Oh, how was your date earlier?"

"She's boring to talk to, she has no sense of humor! If she's the girl I'm gonna marry tsk, no thanks. Even if he's a man, I still don't want her. I think I'll die because she's so boring." He said and I laughed.

"I hope you told that girl how boring she was," I said and lay down on his bed.

We are now in his room and he is just sitting on the edge of the bed.

He looked at me. "Yeah, I did."

"Then? What was her reaction? Was she angry?" I asked and got up.

"Yes, she got angry and even slapped me. She said I was very rude pfft! But that slap really hurt and I tried my best to calm myself down. Thanks to her if my cheeks weren't red I won't be able to go home early."

"Her face is thick! She slapped you!? Oh, my poor best friend." I looked at him with a snort, I grabbed his cheek and pinched it so he moaned.

"I knew it, you're going to do that to my cheek!" He said annoyed and rubbed his cheek.

I burst out laughing and rolled over on his bed.

"What about you, how are you?" I stopped at his question.

"Tsk, you're still asking questions! It's boring too, can you believe we had a date at the library--" I didn't finish what I was going to say when he said something.

"That's a good library, isn't it, I want to try it there but boys are so stagey, like girls, they prefer it in bed! By the way, what did you two do in there?"

"Yes, we did a lot! We just read books and he talked about the war then and also about science. I want to curse at him, what did he think of me as his student?!"

"I thought it was a date, why does it seem he wants to be your teacher."

"It's a date, he said it's a library date. When I see that man I'm going to feed him the books he's read! You know I want to leave the house because that's what mommy and daddy do!" I said irritably.

"Yeah, I feel you!" He agrees.

"We're still young, but they seem to be in a hurry to get us married to just anyone." He added.

"They don't understand that we are not ready for such things and you are even more so," I said then just sighed.

Will this best friend of mine be willing to marry a woman? He's gay so obviously, he likes men.

"They believe that this kind of setup will work, because they already experienced this, and agreed to marry each other."

"It worked for them, but what if it won't work for us? What if our lives are ruined because of that, they didn't even think that we should marry the one we love!"

They even told me not to worry because eventually, I will also love my future husband when we have been together for some time and have children. Gosh, I know we can learn to like someone but we can't force our hearts to love!

"It's been a month since we graduated from college and we can't even enjoy it because they want us to start a family right now!" He lay down next to me.

He leaned over to look at me and I leaned over too.

"If only we could do something to stop them, we have no choice but to follow them..."

"Because they're our parents." He added to what I was saying.

"Tsk, poor you Ethan, you will be submissive when you have a wife and children. You need to work and you have responsibilities as a husband." I know he will hate and be annoyed when I tell him this.

"You too, maybe your future husband just make you a mother of up to twenty children. You'll have a new baby every 9 months." What he said made me laugh and so I slapped his forehead.

"Oh my gosh, ouch!" He said in a feminine voice. Ethan is not a showy gay, because maybe I'm the only one who knows his true personality. He shows her naughty side to me or to the men she has dated.

"I'm hungry, can we eat first?" I'm with him.

We both stood up and went to the kitchen.

"You're here and yet you didn't tell me?" I went to Ethan's mom.

"I'm sorry Tita. I went straight to Ethan's room so I didn't get to say hi." I explain.

"Your mom told me you had a date earlier, how is your date?" He asked. 

I looked at Ethan who now seemed to be laughing.

"Uhm, it's okay," I answered and tried to smile.

"It's good and you seem to like that guy??" He asked making me frown.

"No Tita, he's not my type," I told the truth and she laughed. "Ija, it seems like all the boys your mom introduced you to, you don't like."

It's good and you know that, Tita.

"Mom, just tells Tita and Tito that they should just stop looking for a man to marry Heaven," Ethan said suddenly.

"That's not possible son, our plan is a double wedding for the two of you and Heaven. Isn't that exciting? You and your best friend are getting married at the same time??" I can see in Tita's eyes that she is happy.

Ethan and I looked at each other and fake laughed. "Yeah, super exciting!"

Very, very exciting! I feel like I want to bury myself in the ground because I'm so excited. Gosh, thinking about marriage makes my head hurts!

"Oh, what don't you like about the girls and boys you introduce yourself to? What if you two get married to each other? Would that be better?" Ethan and I both laughed at what his mom said.

"Auntie stop joking around like that!" I laughed until I coughed because my throat suddenly hurt.

"That's why you laugh so hard, your mouth is still growing as if you intend to swallow this house." Ethan teased me and he even smile at me.

"Yes, I thought you might want me to swallow you too!" I said then blow my breath to him. 

"I forgot to brush my teeth, sorry Ethan." I laugh.

"You two really are so adorable, come eat first. You're now getting a bit crazy." 

We laugh because of what Tita just said.

After we ate, I said goodbye and went home.

"Sweetie, how are you, your date, are you okay??" They asked me the same thing.

"No, I don't want him." I was exhausted.

"You two have stopped. I don't want to go on a date with anyone from now on!"

"Okay fine!" I looked at dad when he spoke. I was about to smile because I thought he wouldn't force me to date or marry any man.

"There will be no more dates because you are getting married to the son of someone I know. Their business is good and it will be better if you're gonna marry his son--"

"What the fudge dad!" I stood up and looked at them both evilly.

"I know you set up a date for me because even if I like that man, you will arrange marriage me to him but this is the worst of all! Because you already chose the man I will marry and I have no choice. I don't have a choice in everything, it's all about your wishes!!" I screamed.

"If only I had known that this was going to happen in my life, I wish I had never been born! If you want a child to obey, go to your room and make another baby!" I feel the pain in my throat because of me shouting at them. 

I'm just really mad at them right now.

I immediately wiped the tears that fell from my cheeks.

"You're really losing respect for us Heaven!!"

"Respect? Do you know the word respect dad?? I respect you and mom a lot so, how could you say that to me! What about you two?! When did you r-respect me? W-When did you respect my decision!!"

"We're doing it for your own good--"

"No! You're doing this for yourselves mum, dad! You're so selfish that you didn't even think about how I feel, whether I'm happy like this! I'm so confused that If you fed me and only raised me for this life if I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have wished I didn't live when I got sick!!"

"Sweetie--"

"I hate you! And I hate you too!!" I stood up and walked away from them.

"Heaven!!" Dad called me but I completely turned my back on them and ran out of the house.
