'You're mine, Katrina. Whether you accept it or not, you were made for me.' He growled, stalking towards me like an animal will stalk its prey. 'I'm no one's. Not even yours.' I tried to say, but it came out weak and feeble. I hated how fragile I felt, I hated how my body betrayed me, needing to be near this man. A devious smile appeared on his lips, a glint in his eyes. 'That's not what the scent of your arousal is saying, love.' __________________ When Katrina comes home to find her husband and mate cheating on her with her best friend, Emery, she is shocked and heartbroken. Something is seriously wrong. The feeling of dread that had settled at the bottom of my stomach ever since I stepped foot into the pack house was growing bigger as I made my way to my wing. I clenched my teeth, feeling the unfamiliar stab of pain in my chest that seemed to grow worse as seconds ticked by. I was just coming back from the hospital where the doctor had confirmed once again that I wasn't pregnant after all the scares and false hopes that I might be. The thought brought a wave of sadness crashing through my being and I pursed my lips, my eyes glazing over with tears. I couldn't tell my husband and Alpha, Lucas on the phone so I opted to come home. But on my way, my chest began to hurt and I didn't know why. Well, I was about to find out. As I walked along the hallway that lead to our bedroom, I began to hear the dreadful sounds of bed creaking. I froze, My heart skiddering to a stop and I felt my blood run cold. Surely, I heard wrong. It couldn't be. There was just no way this was happening. Lucas just can't be cheating on me, can he? Female moans began to filter through, accompanied by Lucas grunts and I felt my ears ring. It felt like someone had sunk a knife deep into my chest, twisting it painfully. My legs stopped moving and my heart began to pound erratically in my chest. How can Lucas do this to me!?! What the hell went wrong? "That's it! Harder! Fuck me harder Lucas!" Came a voice that I recognized so well. Surely... It couldn't be!? With trembling legs, I tiptoed to the door, taking several shaky breaths before placing my hands on the doorknob, cracking the door open and peeking in, confirming my worst fears. Lucas was indeed there with someone. The pain in my chest doubled and I must crumbled from the pain. Tears spilled from my eyes but it was my rage that had me pushing the door wider and rushing in. The sight I was met caused my mouth to fall open, but no sounds would make it past my lips. There was Lucas, balls deep into my Emery's pussy, my best friend and fucking her brains out. The latter was on all fours, moaning in delight as Lucas railed her, their bodies shining with sweat and the air filled with the sickly smell of their copulation. They didn't even notice me barge in, they were just engrossed in whatever it is they were doing. I watched the scene for what felt like hours before letting out a shrill scream that would have shattered glass. That forced them to come apart and they stared at me in shock, quickly trying to cover their nakedness with the bedsheet. I watched them in a daze, unable to believe my eyes. "Katrina... Wh wh-what are you doing here?" Emery stuttered out, quickly covering herself with the bedsheets as she stared at me, her eyes wide with shock. I completely ignored her, facing the person who was the cause of all this. I glared at Lucas, feeling tears pour out from my eyes as I took a step closer to him. "H-how could you do this to me!? After all I've done for you!!" I screamed at the top of my voice and watched as he flinched. Still, there was no trace of guilt or shame in his eyes. "You weren't supposed to be here. Didn't you go for a medical check up? What was the result?" He asked calmly, dismissing what had just happened here with a wave of his hand. A surge of rage went through me and before I knew what I was doing, I had stalked up to him and slapped him on the face. A collective gasp went off behind me but I was too incensed to notice. "You fricking bastard!" I yelled at him and tried to hit him again but he caught my hand, gripping it fiercely till it hurt. With a dangerous look in his eyes, he leaned in and growled. "Hit me again and you wouldn't like what I would do to you, Katrina. Now what was the result of the test? Are you pregnant or not?" He thundered and I trembled involuntarily, overpowered by his Alpha aura. Choking on a sob, I looked away from him, feeling anger and shame burn it's way through me. "Are you pregnant or not?" He repeated, his voice scalding. I whimpered, more tears spilling out from my eyes. I hated the way his aura reduced me to an obedient puppet. "No...." I finally forced out when it felt like he was going to break my arms into two. There was a moment of eerie silence until Lucas broke into a sinister chuckle. "After everything we've done? All the bending you over backwards and thousands of tests and series of injections, you're still not pregnant!?" He barked and I flinched, feeling humiliation and rage. How dare he!? How dare he! Why was that the focus here? I caught him cheating on me! He opened his mouth to continue to spit more venom. "People warned me. They told me marrying you would be a waste of time but I didn't listen." He snarled to my ears. "Well, not anymore." He added and let go of my hands. I snapped my head up to look at him. What the hell did he mean by that? I watched as he picked off his clothes and methodically put them on, completely ignoring me and acting like I didn't exist. When he was done, he turned to me and I could see in his eyes, he had already made his decision. A chill went down my spine. "I don't have any use for a barren woman as my wife and Luna of my pack so I Lucas Beaulovard, Alpha of the Moonstone pack, Reject you Katrina Jade as my Luna. Accept my rejection." He stated without any emotions in his voice. My mouth slackened with shock, my eyes wide with disbelief. Did Lucas just reject me? In front of everyone? I was about to shout back a retort when the pain of the rejection hit me like a thousand bricks. It felt like I was dropped in hot, scalding oil. Every part of me hurt, every part of me burned. I couldn't stop screaming, couldn't stop crying. My wolf was howling in agony but there was little we could do. Lucas had made up his mind. I laid on the ground, writhing in agony, broken sobs escaping my lips. "Come on, hurry up. I don't have all day." He muttered, seemingly bored and unfazed about the intense reaction I was going through. It was then I knew, he never really cared about me from the start. He was just concerned about what I could bring to the pack. After all, wasn't it through my guidance he was able to take his collection of rogues and turn them into a pack worthy of respect? Ten years of laboring with him and this is what I get in return? A rejection? I sniffed, taking the rest of my strength and pride and struggled to my feet, cleaning off my tears and leveled with a glare of my own. "And I Katrina Jade, accept your rejection." I spoke calmly, ignoring the searing pain going through my veins. I would not allow him to see me crumble a second time. I felt the mate bond snapping and my wolf thrashing inside me, bemoaning the loss of our mate. It was pure agony and my knees wanted to buckle from the weight of my pain. Lucas smiled, seemingly satisfied. This is what he must have wanted all along. Cleaning away my tears, I looked around, and indeed, it seemed like the entire pack house was here. While some of them seemed distraught about what just happened, the rest had a smug expression on their faces, seemingly aware of their Alpha's plans. I turned to Emery, the only best friend I had in the entire world and the only one who could have the nerve to betray me like this. She met with my gaze, unflinching and with a coy smile on her lips, gingerly rubbed her stomach. I immediately knew what that meant and my anger surged again. Lucas was a bastard. "You'll regret this." I spoke without thinking, looking back and forth from Lucas and Emery. "I'll make you all regret this. To all of you who had a hand in this and kept it away from me, making me find out this way. I'll make sure you all regret this." I promised, my voice laced with rage. "Really? And how are you going to do that?" Emery taunted me, going to stand beside Lucas who immediately placed a hand around her waist and pulled her closer to him. I chuckled darkly, clicking my tongue. More tears spilled from my eyes and I let them fall, feeling rage burn through me. "Just watch. Watch and see." I muttered. Pulling off the ring off my fingers, I threw it on Lucas chest, poured away the documents of pregnancy tests from my bag. Turning to the rest of them, I watched their varied reactions and stormed out of the room, heading straight to my car. I managed to hold off my tears till I was safely tucked into the car before breaking down again, sobbing hard. My entire life, all I had built had just vanished in front of my eyes. I still found it so hard to believe. I'll make them pay. Every single one of them. The next morning, after tossing and turning all night on the bed, trying to figure my way out of the hell hole, I woke up exhausted and in a fouler mood. The dark circles under my eyes seemed to throb in sync with my pounding headache. I decided to stay in all day, hoping to escape the chaos that had become my life. But a knock on the door prevented that from happening. At first, it was a gentle tap, but when I ignored it, the knocking grew louder and more insistent. I threw the covers over my head, hoping that whoever was knocking would quit it and leave, but that never happened. If anything, it grew more persistent, like a drumbeat in my brain.Frustrated, I sat up, my movements jerky, and climbed out of the bed. My feet stomped towards the door, my bare feet making soft slapping sounds on the cold floor. I flung the door open, ready to snap at whoever was behind it, but Arthur's jovial voice broke through my anger."Great morning to you, Katrina! How was your night?" His cheerful t
"Who are you and what are you doing in my room?" I asked, my voice calm yet laced with anger due to the invasion of privacy. I sat up straight, my eyes fixed on the woman, my hands clenched into fists. The woman scoffed, her eyes narrowing as she glared back at me. "I should be asking you that question instead," She retorted, her voice just as haughty as her expression. "Who are you and what are you doing in our territory?" She asked, her voice laced with venom, her words dripping with malice.I pressed my lips together, regarding her for a moment, my anger simmering beneath the surface. The woman before me was a very beautiful woman, no doubt, yet she had an uncanny air around her. The deep plunge red gown she had on revealed intricate markings, reminding me of the ones I saw on Adonis' skin that night. Her long jet black hair had red highlights, her cat eyes glaring at me disapprovingly."I don't know," I responded, matching her glare with one of my own, squaring my shoulders and st
I woke up the next day, my mind groggy and my head blank, as if a thick fog had settled over my thoughts. Looking around, I wondered why I wasn't waking up to the warm sun shining brightly in my face, or the soothing scent of lavender wafting through my nose, calming my senses. But then, like a slap in the face, reality hit me - I had been kidnapped, and I was currently trapped in a secret room, confined to a small, enclosed space.Seating up, I rubbed my neck, trying to massage away the stiffness. A low groan escaped my lips as I stretched my sore body. The hard bed had been unforgiving, and I couldn't believe I had fallen asleep on it. Either I was that exhausted, or it was the lingering effects of the sedatives I had inhaled earlier, still coursing through my veins. As I looked up, my gaze met the cold, unblinking stare of the camera, its lens trained directly on me. I felt a shiver run down my spine. I began to wonder if I was going to start this morning by going on a tirade, dema
The second I walked out of the room, the smile on my face dropped, revealing a deep scowl. My footfalls heavy, I walked out of the underground section where I placed Katrina in, into the main section of the mansion. The opulent decorations and lavish furnishings seemed to mock me, a stark contrast to the darkness brewing inside me.There, I found Arthur already waiting for me, an half smile on his face. He was always eager to know the details of my dealings, especially when it came to women. "So... How did your conversation go?" He asked as he fell into step with me, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. The bad feeling in my body intensified, but I knew Arthur wouldn't leave me alone if I didn't give him a satisfactory answer to his question. I poured myself a glass of whiskey from the mini bar in the parlor, the amber liquid glowing in the dim light. "Well, she's denying me," I said, my voice low and even, as I handed Arthur a glass. When I glanced at Arthur, his eyes were widened in su
I stared at Nicholas, my eyes wide with shock, still reeling from his words. He has to be joking, right? Why else would he say something like that? What does he even mean? I thought back to our brief encounter, trying to make sense of his statement. It was just a chance meeting, a spark of attraction, but nothing more. I just left a ten-year marriage that led to absolutely nothing, and now he wants me to be with him? This is definitely a joke. There's no way he's serious about this.I slowly shook my head, finding the idea completely preposterous. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that," I said, my voice clipped, trying to convey my incredulity. "Our connection that day wasn't that deep for me to want to become your woman." I emphasized the last part, trying to make him understand that I wasn't interested in him or any kind of relationship. I was done with that.Nicholas's expression didn't change, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. Disappointment? Anger? I couldn't quite tell. "
When my consciousness returned to me, the musty smell of the enclosed space where I was hit me like a punch to the gut. The air was dry and dusty, making my eyelids feel scratchy and my throat parched. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt heavy, as if weighed down by an invisible force. I blinked repeatedly, trying to clear the haze, but everything remained blurry.I coughed, trying to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to pause. I took a deep breath, waiting for the room to stop spinning. As my senses slowly returned, I looked around, trying to take in my surroundings. The room was small, with only a tiny window high up on one wall, allowing a sliver of light to enter. A flickering light bulb cast eerie shadows on the walls, making it difficult to see.Panic began to set in as I scrambled to remember how I ended up here. My memories were hazy, but as I sat up straighter, they began to flood back. I was walking home from work when...when someone grabbed me. I
