Melia menelan ludah, mencoba mempertahankan senyumnya. "Iya, Bu. Kami masih berusaha..."
"Ah, dokter zaman sekarang terlalu banyak maunya. Mungkin Mas Adit cuma kurang makan yang sehat aja," Arin terkekeh, mencoba mengalihkan.
Melia tersenyum getir.
"Lho, kok tegang gini? Lagi ngomongin apa?" tanyanya sambil duduk di sebelah Bu Maria.
"Ini lagi ngobrolin Melia sama Adit yang belum dikasih momongan," jawab Bu Maria sambil terkekeh ringan.
Bude Yati tersenyum lebar.
"Iya, kenapa nggak dicoba, Mel? Jangan terlalu kaku," sahut Bu Maria setuju.
Melia menggigit bibir. Ini sudah kelewatan. Tapi sebelum ia sempat berkata apa-apa, Radit akhirnya angkat bicara, meski dengan nada ragu. "Kami akan tetap jalani pengobatan sesuai rekomendasi dokter, Bude. Terima kasih sarannya."
"Kenapa kamu diam aja tadi, Mas?" tanyanya. Suaranya pelan, tapi tajam seperti pisau yang menyayat.
Radit menutup pintu perlahan dan menguncinya. "Aku nggak mau ribut sama Ibu, Mel."
Melia tertawa pendek, getir. "Oh, jadi biar kamu tetap kelihatan anak baik, aku harus terus-terusan dijadikan sasaran? Kamu denger sendiri kan tadi mereka bilang apa? Seolah-olah aku ini... mandul!"
Radit mengusap wajah. "Aku cuma nggak pengin keributan di rumah orang tua sendiri, Mel."
Melia mendekat, matanya menyala. "Tapi kamu tega biarin aku dilecehkan begitu? Lima tahun, Mas. Lima tahun aku disindir, dibanding-bandingkan. Dan kamu selalu... DIAM!" Melia tak kuasa lagi menahan gejolak dalam dadanya,
"Aku capek, Mel," jawab Radit, nada suaranya mulai meninggi. "Kamu pikir aku nggak ngerasa bersalah?
Radit menunduk. "Aku nggak tahu harus gimana..."
"Kamu tinggal ngomong! Satu kalimat, Mas. ‘Tolong jangan salahin Melia, ini bukan salah dia.’ Sesederhana itu! Tapi kamu nggak pernah punya nyali!" Suara Melia makin meninggi, dadanya naik-turun.
Radit terpaku.
Terhina. Tapi kamu... kamu selalu bilang 'biarin aja', 'nggak usah dipikirin'. Apa kamu pikir hatiku ini batu? Aku ini manusia Mas, punya perasaan? Coba kalau kamu dihina dan direndahkan oleh keluargaku, terus aku diam saja, kamu mau gimana?" Melia benar-benar lepas kontrol.
Radit menggigit bibirnya. "Aku cuma... bingung harus hadapin mereka gimana."
Melia menatapnya dalam. "Kamu itu laki-laki, Mas. Kamu cuma takut jadi anak durhaka. Tapi kamu nggak pernah takut kehilangan aku sebagai istrimu, kan?"
Radit menegang.
Ketika Radit mengetuk pintu kamar, Melia justru memberikan Ultimatum, “Kalau kamu belum siap menjadi suami, sebaiknya kita tidak perlu tidur bareng, Mas!”
“Melia….”
“Aku ingin sendirian dulu, Mas!” potong Melia tegas.
Radit hanya bisa pasrah.

Chapter 58: visitorRIFTAN POVShe was back. There was no denying all of that. I mean the first time she woke up, she wanted me so bad the scent of her arousal could be smelled from every room in the pack house; and the sweet taste of her orgasm still lingered on my tongue. Even now, sitting a good distance from the alcove, I could feel the warmth of her laugh as she conversed softly with her beta and some ladies, casually sipping tea. The wash of her stare would brush my side intermittently, letting me know she was aware of my existence as I was hers. But something didn’t feel right. She laughed and talked like Eden, but it felt like a piece of her was missing; like she was here, yet she wasn’t.I couldn't quite put a finger onto the feeling, and I blamed it on the bitter contrition from having not being able to save her, from having to rely on my brother who sure as hell could have disappointed me a great deal. “A penny for your thoughts?” Khalil drawled slipping beside me and ya
EDEN POV The following days passed with a murky blur. I was still recovering from having my blood sucked out of me and fed to Mr. Charcoal, and the dust was beginning to settle. There were still a lot of things that didn’t make sense, gaps that needed filling, and cracks that needed to be closed; but one thing I was thankful for was how my life was back to normal. And yes, my normal involved watching my wolf play with Lucifel out of my body like little puppies in love. “You are getting better.” A familiar voice countered from above me. I spun around to find Khalil watching me intently, his face a mixture of complacency and peace. It’s been a few days since he was welcomed back to the pack with a grand feast and opened arms, everyone wanting to grace the skin of the savior who delivered their luna from the lands of torture and pain. I didn’t need to be told, but the color on his face told me he was adjusting just fine. And he liked it here. “That was not enough to shake me
RIFTAN POV“Because he’s Riftan’s brother. Family, no matter how rotten it is, is still family. And as Riftan’s mate, I have got to uphold the peace in this family. Khalil isn’t going anywhere; because he is my mate’s brother.” The words seeped through the cracks of the door and into my soul like a white fog, clouding my senses with a foreign sensation. I had just arrived from Moon Logistics when I couldn’t find Eden anywhere, and the rage climbed to the peak when her rosy scent led me to the guest room she first lodged in when she arrived here.I mean, we were way past that, and it didn't make sense why she had to choose the guest room when she could have used my chambers, her chambers. But hearing those words as I stood before the door made me realize one thing;Eden was more than I bargained for.She was a holy grail in my blemished world and nothing I could ever do would ever make me worthy of her. She was everything perfect; from the color of her unusually black eyes to the sil
UNKNOWN POV I found myself yet in another land of the unknown! Unlike all places I have seen in my recent dreams, this one gave me unforgiving chills. The gothic brown interior brought into being, a classic view of a huge, ancient, frigid, and dark hall, with candles flickering to give a bit of light! The light wasn't much, so it left room for everything that lurked in the shadows to go all out and reign freely! Some murmurs and whispers could be heard from the shadows; I turned around to find nothing but me, and my own shadow that was amplified and zoomed by the candles. Another violent shiver tore through me causing my toes to curl, and at that very moment, I realized I had no shoes on! I braced my ground and tried to take a step forward! I don't know why but I felt very unsettled and very disturbed about the vision I was having. It didn't feel like any other of the ones I have had all my life! “Remiel!” A lifeless, cold voice called out, sending a shiver through my spine. I sp
EDEN POV The first sign of life came with me lying on my back and facing upwards and this time, with a smooth, soft blanket draped over my body. A tiny moan slipped out of me, as I wiggled out of the thick haze of dreamless sleep, then came into contact with a soft hand that caught mine in a tight
EDEN POV Anything that happened from there was a mucky blur of events. The thunderous explosions created just enough problems that both Blair and the witch had to leave for a quick inspection; and full-blown war if it came to that. Raynor soon burst through the door like a bat chased out of hell, br
Chapter 46EDEN POV The following day, Blair found me parading the vast corridors of lines and shelves of books that seemed to contain a history that spanned for at least ten millennia. Some of the artifacts in the Giants Library were big scrolls, placed neatly on wooden stands like they held a secre
EDEN POV I wish I could fucking disappear! Just vanish into thin air without even leaving a puff of smoke behind because, at this point, Grace would just fucking track me with it and haul my ass back here. My throat was scratchy and cracked, my muscles sore, my voice hoarse, and it felt like I had
