Masuk<< THE NEXT MORNING
Sander stirred to the other side. She rolled freely to the floor with a loud thud. She released a sharp cry of pain as her head collided heavily with the hard surface.
She rubbed her head as she rose up. Things spun quickly around her. She held the wall for support as it felt like her feet was being lifted from the ground.
She looked around the room when she had gotten over it. The room was unusual quiet.
She wore her flipflops and skipped out to the living room. Finding it empty, her heart jumoed in alarm. She checked the kitchen and bathroom for Kensington.
“Kenzie?" She called and began to walk out of the house. She stood at the stairs. It was empty.
She returned to the room and began to pace about. Her thoughts roamed freely. She feared something terrible would have happened to her or….
She gasped. She ran into the room and picked her phone. She must have returned to Jerome again. He must have threatened her. Her heart broke in pity. Sander picked up her phone and rang Jerome up. He picked the call at the fourth ring.
“Good mo….”
She was about to greet but he cut her short in an angry voice, " Give the phone to Kensington!!”
Sander chuckled and began to pace about in the bedroom, "Where is she, Jerome? What did you say to her?” She asked calmly although she wanted to yell at him.
"Look here, It is too early to begin playing games with me. Get the phone to her NOW!!” Jerome barked.
"Games? Jerome, Kensington isn't here. I can't find her.” She said quickly, goosebumps rising in every area of her skin.
“She isn't with you. Where is she?"
“I should be asking you that. What did you say to her? Did you threaten her?" Sander asked feeling her ears ring in rage.
The phone made loud beep sounds. He disconnected the call.
Sander dug her hands into her hair. Her chest heaving in panic and alarm.
Did she run away? She thought but dispelled the thought immediately. Kensington has no relative and no money so she couldn't have possibly ran away.
She bit her finger as she she thought of all the possible places Kensington would be.
She brushed her teeth hurriedly, wore a decent informal clothe of a long flowing gown. She threw a hoodie over herself and head out in search of her.
She walked through the streets, looking into every mall, stores and clubs. Her heart skipped with worry. Could something bad had happen to her?
She wondered as she trudged on, hungry and exhausted on the busy streets of Washington.

Despite the cool air whirring from the AC, Jerome still felt suffocated by the information he had just received. He peeled his clothes off his skin, he crumbled the piece of cloth and threw it to the wall with an angry roar.
Kensington pulled a smart one. His face was washed with a malignant smile, he nodded his head and swirled around. Rage fusing through his insides and trying to boil all over his skin.
“I will destroy you, Kensington. You can't do this to me!!" He yelled, his voice trembled with rage and fear.
He was afraid of what will befall him. If he runs out of cash, his life would be tarnished. He pummeled his fist hard on the wall and placed his forehead against the wall.
“Where the hell are you girl?"
His muscles throbbed as he banged his fist repeatedly on the hard wall.
He thought hard on what to do next. He paced back and forth in his room, his head burned with several thoughts.
He knew he had to pull some strings to find her. He knows who was perfect for the job. He searched for his phone. And when he found it, he quickly dialled a number. He spoke rasply into the phone and headed to the kitchen.
His face fixed in a hard scowl as he gave orders to the person at the other end. He filled a mug with cappuccino, scooped a spoon of milk. He scooped again and then again. He gave it a swirl with a spoon. He picked the mug, hung up the phone and began to walk out of the kitchen and back to his room. He sat on the chair, turned his laptop on and began to work around it.

Her stomach grumbled nosily.Sander decided to take a bite before returning home. She walked into an eatery, ordered a burger and a cup of brown coffee.
A satisfied moan escaped her lips when she bit the burger and swallowed down the coffee. It travelled down her throat leaving a refreshing feel on her.
She was on the last bite when her phone rang again. She toured half of the city and she couldn't find Kensington. Her face lit up in expectations as she quickly took the call.
“Jerome,” She spoke into the phone, her heart racing in anticipation.
"Where are you?”
Sander rolled her eyes. Why would he care?
“I have found her. Come home," His voice rang softly. Sander jumped from her chair.
Her eyes widened. Her heart palpitating in relief. She took the last swig of her coffee and returned back home.
“That jerk. I will give him a good piece of my mind," Sander fumed and marched down to the car. She knocked on the window. The car's door was jerked from the other side. Jerome stepped outside. A black sunglasses on his face hid the angry flare in his eyes.“Why did you hang up on me?" Jerome fumed and grabbed her arm. Sander eyes narrowed, she winced softly when he dug his fingers on her arm.“Hang up? You are a dreamer…”"I… .”"I did,” Kensington cut in. Jerome turned his gaze to her. He swiped his glasses off his face. "Keeping away from me?” He asked with a smirk dancing across his face, his feet plodded softly approaching her. Kensington held her breath, buried her hands in the pocket of the hoodie she wore. Jerome got to her and stretched his hands to her shoulders. The mere brush of her fingers over her shoulders made her body quaver in fear. Her gaze dropped low to the ground calculating the large mass of sand beneath their feet.“I hate it when people try to
Kensington returned home with a decision settled in her heart. She ate dinner and even exchanged conversations with Sander. Sander's face was coloured surprise. She talked with her while wondering what might have played out in Mr. Henry's place. After dinner, they retired to sleep. Sander's face began to ring, disrupting their sleep. She checked the caller ID. It was Jerome. She sighed harshly and turned her phone off. She turned off the light and returned back to sleep. Kensington slept peacefully, pushing back the wearying thoughts in her mind.>>> Sander was shocked when she heard Kensington ask to go to the park with her. “Are you serious?" Sander squealed in excitement. “Yes. And we will visit the mall as well. Prepare your favorite dish," Kensington added much to the bewilderment of Sander. “Really?" Sander squealed. “Yes. Dress up, we need to go," Kensington said, her face brightened by a warm smile. Sander hugged her heartily. She ran into the bedroom and beg
Tears ran down her face as she watched him bask in glory while he looked at her miserly.“You are a beast." “One of the sweetest compliments I have ever heard," He said nonchalantly and snapped his finger in the air. Was this the man she had loved all her life? Her heart was being torn apart, into shreds and he didn't care.“Leave my house!!" She ordered calmly, pointing a finger at the door. He clicked his tongue, “I will, my love. But first, we have unfinished business." Kensington squinted her eyes. “I have no business with a monster like you. Now, leave!!!" She barked loudly. Sander heard her voice. She jumped to her feet, wore her flipflops and skirted out of the room.“Did you read the terms and conditions of the agreement you signed with Mr. Henry?" Jerome asked with a mischievous smirk on her face. Something snapped in her head. Mr. Henry had asked her this as well. She didn't read. She never had time to because Jerome was on her neck to get the deal signed.“
“Jerome?” Sander said in a clipped voice, swallowing down the rage built up in her against him. He had a smug look on his face. He appeared nonchalant about the situation on ground. His eyes glinted mischievously, "Where is my girl?” His girl? Sander's stomach growled in annoyance, she threw her gaze off his face.“Take yourself away from here," She implored calmly despite the storm brewing in her chest. "Sander…" She heard Kensington call her from behind. She craned her neck to see a view of Kensington standing before the bathroom with a blue towel tied around her.“Let him in." Sander sighed. Jerome smiled victoriously and walked in with his shoulder raised high. Kensington felt a tingle in her. Butterflies swarmed in her stomach. He walked in and sat on the couch like a king with his leg crossed over the other. When she heard his voice, she literally flew out of the bathroom.Maybe he wasn't a brute afterall? He was here to apologize for his malicious deed. He
She froze at a spot, training her eyes on the door. She ran back to the door, her heart raced wildly. She pounded her fist hard on the door. She was breathing heavily.“Hey Honey, Get the door!" A lady trilled from the house. Her ears twitched. Her fist remained on the door without moving. She could hear her heart beating so loudly. Her ears rang sharply. The door clicked. She stumbled backwards. The door was pulled open from the other side. She held her breath.“Hey," Jerome appeared from the other end, surprise coloured his face. His fingers slowly uncurled from the door. Kensington stared wide eyes. She didn't dare blink.“Come in..” while he was still talking, a lady wearing just her underwear stepped up next to him With a scowl, she sized Kensington up and turned to Jerome, "Who is she, Jer?” Jerome swallowed hard and rubbed his hands on his cargo pants, "A friend.” A short chuckle tore out of Kensington's lips, "Jer?” She said with her lips stretched in a grin."Wo
