“Are you going out there again?" Sander's voice bubbled through the thick silence preeminent in the room.
Kensington nods gently and drops the lip gloss. She smacks her lips softly and checks herself out in the mirror. Her look isn't looking satisfying enough, she picks the contour and begins to apply it over her face.
“Kenzie," Sander called, throwing her hands on her shoulders. A dissatisfied smile painted her face, “I don't like seeing you all dressed like this," she gestured at the revealing skimpy dress that showed off her cleavages and thigh.
Sander has been her only friend. The only one she had before she met Jerome, her boyfriend.
“Is he making you do all this?" Sander continues, packing up her hair in a pony tail style.
Kensington groaned and yanked her hair from her grip, she jolted to her feet, “You are ruining my makeup."
She let her hair fall freely over her shoulders.
“Don't tell me you are doing this because of him?"
By him, Sander was referring to Jerome. Of course she is quite aware of his debts and how he cried his ass out while telling her about the debt.
Kensington, being a soft girl and so naive, accepted his terms in order to pay off his debts.
And his terms? A ridiculous thought that has plunged her in a dangerous path.
Kensington's face glistened brightly, a small smile which Sander believes is a fake one sits gallantly on her face while she picks up her red sachet bag. She slips a pack of condoms into the bag.
Sander feels disgusted watching her only friend live a terrible life.
“Kenzie, You have to stop doing this…”
"Sander!!” She yelled.
The room maintained a silent decorum, they stared into each other's eyes like they were having a tug of war.
"Whatever I do with my life is none of your business. Face your life and let me live mine,” She rasped in aggravation. Breaking her gaze, she stomped out of the room.
Sander let out a wheezy breath and collapsed on the chair. The sound of Kensington's feet as she trolled down the old metal stairs resounded across the whole two storey house.
"Oh God!!” She mumbled and ran her hands over her face. She pushed her body off the chair and began to get her stuff ready to leave for her workplace.
She worked as a child care worker in a local child care center. She pulled the pile of books into her bag, picked up her phone and left the room. She locked it behind her and began to trudge down the staircase.

Just like every other shoot, Kensington felt disgusted. While she laid on the bed with dozens of hands running about her body, her insides twisted with pain and hurt at what her life had become
She hated it. But she has no other choice.
Sweat pricked her face, she took a towel and wiped off the sweat trickling down her face. She felt a hand smack against her butt cheek.
She winced in disdain, “Keep your old hands to yourself, man," She snapped at the grey haired man whose teeth were stained yellow.
He chuckled and rounded the huge mahogany table. She threw the towel on the table and pounded her fist hard on the table when he had taken his seat.
His brows snapped high, “How can I help you?"
His eyes roamed freely down her face. It lingered on her open cleavage. His core throbbed. His throat bobbed up and down, he tightened his legs and inched close to her. He didn't break his gaze from her open cleavage, it gave him the relishment he felt he needed.
“I love the view before me," He said hoarsely and stretched his hands forward. With a grunt, Kensington leaned away from him.
“I need my money, man."
Her tone was acrid. She had been in this for two months and hadn't received her money.
The man rubbed his hands together and leaned back on his chair, “Well, They haven't paid," He said nonchalantly.
Kensington snorted, “I don't care, Henry. Give me my damn share…”
She was pissed. Doing this dirty shit as a profession was irritating already. Her gaze burned into his face as she stared at him.
"Your share?” Henry chuckled. He ran his hands through his grey hair, “I have paid your freaking share, Young lady."
Her brows snapped together, “What?" She mumbled and dug her phone out from her bag.
She scanned through her account balance. No payment has been made into the account since the past two months.
“You are a freaking Liar, Old man," She screamed, charging at him ferociously and waving her phone before his face.
He clicked his tongue and flicked his finger while shaking his head, “Be careful, Young lady. Don't go about accusing an old man. Don't you.." he warned and flipped through the pages of a book on the table precisely his account records.
He swiped the book over to her. Her eyes widened. The man was saying the truth afterall. The payments have all been made but not into her account.
“Why? How?"
“You didn't read the terms and conditions before agreeing to this, did you?" The old man quizzed, his brows raised high to meet his hairline.
All of her shares have been paid into her Manager's account. Her Manager, Jerome, her boyfriend who has been on her neck to get the money.
He called her the other night and pressured her to get her shares.
Her head swirled around. It felt heavy as though the whole world had been placed upon her shoulders. Her heart palpitated.
Henry had a wide smile on his face as he slammed the book shut. He rubbed his beards while he watched her leave with her head bent over her shoulder.
Jerome has taken payments on her behalf without her knowledge. She ordered a ride to Jerome's place.
She gave a subtle knock on the door. She waited for a response, getting none, she resumed to knock even more harder than the first.
There was no response. She turned about her heels and began to struttle out of the porch.
Then she heard a sound. Not too loud.
Soft, calm and gentle. A sound that made her knees buckle.
It was a small moan sound. She paused, her grip tightening around her bag.
Next, a sultry laughter tore through the serenity of the area. It sounded so feminine not like Jerome's.
The entire house has been quiet as though a bucket of ice water had been poured over it. Kensington sat on the couch directly opposite the dining room where Laura sat eating absentmindedly. It felt as though she could read her thoughts. Laura has been in a state of shock since she came across the video of Kensington displaying ridiculous sexual acrobats. Laura just stared into space. Kensington was scared. So many things ran through her head. She wondered if Laura would throw her out of her house. It seemed like everyone in Massachusetts had a problem with porn actors, they don't seem to accept them in their society. Her last resort would be to move to another city, very far away from Massachusetts and Washington as a whole.“Laura, Are you going to talk or keep staring?" Kensington decided to break the ice. Laura turned her head to her direction. Her eyes bored into her.“It was you in the video right?" Laura asked.“Yes.." Kensington bit her lower lip and averted her gaze w
Tears welled up her eyes. Kensington flinched. "The first man I trusted broke my trust and left for another woman…. My father," Her voice fell low, she turned her gaze to the floor. Kensington could feel the hurt emanating from her even by sitting right next to her. “My father broke me. He pretended to care and love but did it only for his own personal gain." She sniffed and rose up, “They say all that glitters are not gold." Kensington noticed the slight shakiness in her voice as she paced to the window, “Mom loved him. I loved him. We all did but he never loved us… truly.” "He was only there for the money he could get from Mom but when Mom's business vrashed, he revealed himself. He turned hostile to us and was always violent until he announced his new family,” She raised her hands to her face and gently stripped off the stain on tears on her face. "I wasn't fully recovered from that and I met Alejandro. I thought he would be different but…" she paused. No words proce
Looking around carefully, she picked her pace and walked out of the restaurant. It was quite dark outside. She hailed a cab and was about to get in when she noticed a man trudging towards her. His eyes were hidden behind the dark spectacles he wore but she could sense his viciousity. She hurried and got into the cab. The man stretched quickly and tried to grab the door but the cab driver started the engine and throttled the car down the road. Her heart pounded erratically and audibly. She held her breath and looked behind to see the man gritting in annoyance. She heaved in relief and hugged herself firmly. She got to her home in time to meet Alejandro at the door again. “Kenzie?" He called her and ran to her. He embraced her warmly. She could hear the soft sound of his heart beating against his chest. He exhaled and stroked her hair after disengaging from the embrace, " Kenzie, Have I offended you?” He asked with a clear tone that made her brows arch. Why was he asking this? Does
She woke up to meet the text from Sander. She picked herself up from the bed and dashed to take her bath. She washed herself thoroughly in a bid to wash off the misery wrapped around her. After taking her bath, she selected denim jeans and a blue shirt. She brushed her hair backwards and tied it up with a hair band. Her chest plodded. The hair band was the same one Alejandro gave her. It carried his scent. It made her feel his presence. She wrapped her hair up, picked her phone and stepped out of the house. When she got to the living room, she met Laura discussing with her mother in low tones. When they saw her, their lips hung apart, they stared with their eyes almost dropping from the socket. She looked like a shadow of herself. She was lanky and her collar bones popped out. Her eyes were sunken.“Kenzie, Where are you going to?" Laura inquired, running her eyes down her body.“I want to see a friend. I'll be back," She tried to give a smile but failed as the smile felt like
Mr. Henry. He was the only one who knew about her past and who must have told Javier about her. Her heart sank. Jerome would also be informed. Goosebumps spiralled from her arms to her back. It felt like invisible eyes were watching over her. Instantly, she began to fret. She folded her fingers tightly and wrapped her hands around her body. She curled over.“Are you okay, ma?" The cab rider asked while trying to catch a view of her through the rear mirror. Kensington nodded, “I will drop at the next stop," She said, feeling a large lump in her throat. They got to the next stop. Kensington paid her fare and continued on her way down to the house. The few people she met on her way casted glances at her in a way that made her nervous. She folded her hands over her chest and walked stealthily to the house. She knocked on the door. Laura opened up and she walked in.“What is it, Kenzie?" Laura inquired with curiosity impinged in her tone. Kensington pulled up a smile even th
He dropped a letter on the table before her. She glared at it like though it was a potential weapon set against her. Her throat bobbed, “Sir, What is this?" She asked with confusion darting in her eyes. “Take a look…" Javier gestured, turned away from her and walked to the window. With shaky hands, she picked up the letter. She opened it up with mixed emotions. Her heart was racing. Her eyes did a quick scan of what was written in the letter. It was a sack letter. Her heart beat dropped. "Please, don't take my job away from me,” she went down on her knees."I wish I didn't have to. But keeping you here will ruin my business. You have to leave,” Javier said without sparing her a glimpse. His voice lacked empathy, it was flat and low. That was it. She had lost a job, the very job that made her feel alive, just because of a crazy past. She picked up her broken self and left the room. She felt somewhat cold while walking out of the store. All eyes were on her, she could hear t
