“Are you going out there again?" Sander's voice bubbled through the thick silence preeminent in the room. Kensington nods gently and drops the lip gloss. She smacks her lips softly and checks herself out in the mirror. Her look isn't looking satisfying enough, she picks the contour and begins to apply it over her face. “Kenzie," Sander called, throwing her hands on her shoulders. A dissatisfied smile painted her face, “I don't like seeing you all dressed like this," she gestured at the revealing skimpy dress that showed off her cleavages and thigh. Sander has been her only friend. The only one she had before she met Jerome, her boyfriend.“Is he making you do all this?" Sander continues, packing up her hair in a pony tail style. Kensington groaned and yanked her hair from her grip, she jolted to her feet, “You are ruining my makeup." She let her hair fall freely over her shoulders. “Don't tell me you are doing this because of him?" By him, Sander was referring t

“Jerome?” Sander said in a clipped voice, swallowing down the rage built up in her against him. He had a smug look on his face. He appeared nonchalant about the situation on ground. His eyes glinted mischievously, "Where is my girl?” His girl? Sander's stomach growled in annoyance, she threw her gaze off his face.“Take yourself away from here," She implored calmly despite the storm brewing in her chest. "Sander…" She heard Kensington call her from behind. She craned her neck to see a view of Kensington standing before the bathroom with a blue towel tied around her.“Let him in." Sander sighed. Jerome smiled victoriously and walked in with his shoulder raised high. Kensington felt a tingle in her. Butterflies swarmed in her stomach. He walked in and sat on the couch like a king with his leg crossed over the other. When she heard his voice, she literally flew out of the bathroom.Maybe he wasn't a brute afterall? He was here to apologize for his malicious deed. He

Kensington returned home with a decision settled in her heart. She ate dinner and even exchanged conversations with Sander. Sander's face was coloured surprise. She talked with her while wondering what might have played out in Mr. Henry's place. After dinner, they retired to sleep. Sander's face began to ring, disrupting their sleep. She checked the caller ID. It was Jerome. She sighed harshly and turned her phone off. She turned off the light and returned back to sleep. Kensington slept peacefully, pushing back the wearying thoughts in her mind.>>> Sander was shocked when she heard Kensington ask to go to the park with her. “Are you serious?" Sander squealed in excitement. “Yes. And we will visit the mall as well. Prepare your favorite dish," Kensington added much to the bewilderment of Sander. “Really?" Sander squealed. “Yes. Dress up, we need to go," Kensington said, her face brightened by a warm smile. Sander hugged her heartily. She ran into the bedroom and beg

“Kenzie?" She called and began to walk out of the house. She stood at the stairs. It was empty. She returned to the room and began to pace about. Her thoughts roamed freely. She feared something terrible would have happened to her or…. She gasped. She ran into the room and picked her phone. She must have returned to Jerome again. He must have threatened her. Her heart broke in pity. Sander picked up

Kensington felt bad. Maybe she should loosen up a bit just like Laura suggested. Maybe she needed to loosen up, she was too rigid. Her past experiences have made her drift into her shell, away from the world. Laura beamed sadly, washing her plates quietly, "My mom works in a bakery," Kensington stopped in her tracks, “She would be here by seven PM. She would love to see you,” Laura said, her eyes holding her gaze. She wiped her hands clean and left the kitchen.>>>Sander winced, she adjusted and laid on her back. Her entire body ached terribly. Her face was disfigured in a worst way that she feared she wouldn't be leaving the room anytime soon. As she laid on the bed, a billion thoughts streamed through her mind. She hasn't heard a word from Kensington. Was she safe? Did she go off for a job interview? Or? Sander rose to her feet. She shook her head trying to dispel the last thought that popped into her head. She walked to the wardrobe. She jerked it open. Her eyes widene
