*APRIL’S POV*

I would be a fool to believe Cassius. How could I trust a man who said one thing and did another? Yet I was powerless. The only thing I could do was try not to anger him while also making sure I did not lose him to his so-called best friend.

Persephone Adelard. Oh, what a beauty she was. From the moment I first saw her, wrapped in the embrace of my mate, I hated her. She was a woman with both looks and status, things I did not have. She was born with these things meanwhile I had to struggle for everything I had.

How could she have everything yet still cling to the only thing that should be mine? She had so much so why could I not have Cassius? I hated her. I hated her so much I wanted to destroy her beautiful face and make it into something no one would ever be willing to look at ever again.
